What an awful little store.

I just returned from my 3rd trip there... and the only time I've been able to catch it while it was open. I won't fault them for only being open 5 days out of the week (and never before 2:30pm) - nor will I fault them for not being remotely close to where I live. I am only including this to stress that I went pretty far out of my way to seek this place out - and I was really looking forward to it.

I arrived and caught a nod from a guy in the middle of the doorway eating a slice of pizza - this was the only acknowledgement I received. Inside were 3 others, crammed into an armpit of a shop. One was sprawled on top of 3 long boxes of comics, leaning against the rack of new issues - as he finished reading a particular issue he threw it onto a stack of similarly cared for books. I had to ask the guy he was talking to to let me by, only to be ignored by him, and the guy behind the counter.

The shop itself is tiny - crammed full of open long boxes, and without air conditioning. It's hard for me to comment on the contents of these boxes, with the workers (or their friends) sprawled out on top of them.

The shop really doesn't have anything going for it. Any other of the half dozen local comic stores trump it in product quality and slaughter it in customer service. Hub Comics in Somerville has been wonderful; Comically Speaking in Reading seems to be wonderful to everyone that walks through their doors; The Outer Limits in Waltham is always worth the drive.

This place is a fan-friendly comic book store featuring comic books, collectibles, trading cards, action figures, memorabilia, graphic novels, posters, novelties, and more. It's a fairly small place so they don't have everything under the sun but they'll be happy to help you find you anything they don't have in stock. They also host gaming nights several times a week.

This small, yet nostalgic comic shop is filled with old comics and collectibles. A really independent store where the selection isn't huge but it is really geared toward the collecting community. Great little store, worth a look.
