Caporale's Ii Liquors Inc

While this store has a reasonable selection compared with other nearby liquor stores, they seem to lack courtesy or business sense in their policies. I've shopped there several times over the last couple months, they recently denied my purchase because I have a New Hampshire license; apparently, this store has decided that the only "legitimate" forms of identification include Mass-issued licenses, military IDs and passports.

The store manager asked me "why [I] hadn't got a Mass license," to which I explained that I live in New Hampshire and visit my girlfriend here--so I couldn't get an MA license even if I wanted one! Somehow this wasn't good enough, nor was the addition of my old college ID (the only other photo ID I have).

I understand this isn't an issue for most people, and in fact the store has never treated me this way before, but I'm offended that I couldn't purchase a 6 pack of beer with the license from a state 30 minutes north. I clearly look over the age of 21 and my license is fully equipped with holograms and all the foolproof features they have on MA identification cards. Nowhere in New Hampshire or Vermont will you find a liquor store that doesn't accept out-of-state licenses.

If you're looking to buy beer, drive or walk 2 minutes to the liquor store at Water St. & Main St. and you'll be treated pleasantly and respectfully. The prices are better, the service is better and they are actually more convenient to many locations. Don't support a store that holds such ridiculous, offensive and ineffective policies.
