Coordination between Cape Medical Supply and my insurance has been a succession of errors and mis-communications on the part of CMS which has cost me hours on the phone with Medicare, my private insurance and Cape Medical Supply billing department.
At the outset, I told CMS I would not purchase or rent any equipment unless and until CMS assured me my insurance and or Medicare would pay the entire cost. I was told that CMS required approval from the insurance company before I would be provided any equipment. I was later told 'everything' had been approved. Then, after taking and using the equipment CMS told me Medicare had rejected the claim as the secondary insurer and that my primary insurance "has been canceled" and I was responsible for the bill.
A call to my primary insurance company assured me my insurance had not been canceled, was indeed in full force and effect. A subsequent statement from my insurance confirmed that they had already made payments to CMS. Calls (many) to Medicare assured me that had they been properly billed they "probably would have paid" whatever was due from them as the secondary payor.
Finally, one letter from the billing department was unintelligible due to a total lack of punctuation and indefinite antecedents and two phone calls to the billing department were not returned.
Not exactly what I would call competent service.

I went to Cape Medical Supply to purchase a nebulizer for my asthmatic son. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They showed me how to use the nebulizer and had me practice using it before I left. They answered all of my questions and made sure I understood when I should call the doctor and when my son should use it. If I ever need any kind of medical equiptment I will go back to this store.
PROS: World class staff
CONS: none
