Bad service

by Trista H. | top100 Top100 | Rank: 97

I must say the hotel is really neat. The history makes it a place to just go and enjoy. The restaurant is another matter. We had the worst service. Apparently, they were short handed. It took forever to get our food. There was no apology or even acknowledgement of how long it took. The food itself was just okay not worth the cost. I will never eat here again!

5 plus stars

We had our wedding there. They did a fabulous job. The food and staff were great. The tomato bisque was the best with rave reviews from the guests. Would recommend again and again.

Best Hotel In Town

by Anonymous

The Hotel Northampton really is your best bet for a stay or a wedding, but the food is hit or miss. The guest rooms are lovely, with all the amenities of the large chains. Many rooms have balconies, which is a nice plus. The lobby is comfortable, though some may find it distracting because large functions sometimes overflow from the attached grand ballroom. Parking is difficult unless you're a guest. The breakfast buffet is excellent and priced accordingly, but I've had more bad experiences than good with the restaurants. For example, one restaurant refused to split the check for a large party, and the other restaurant served overcooked food and refused to completely honor a gift certificate. The latter issue was resolved to our complete satisfaction; the former was not.

PROS: Beautiful guest rooms and function rooms
CONS: Restaurants are hit or miss

beautiful property

by anthony c. | insider Insider | Rank: 14,483

The Hotel Northampton is a beautiful property located in the middle on downtown Northampton. I have never stayed in one of their guest rooms but have had a chance to tour several of them. The guest rooms seemed very well appointed. They have a couple of restaurants on property including a tavern. They are one of the few places around that still offer a Sunday brunch. They host a multitude of banquets throughout the year. I dont know whether this affects their overnight guests. They have a parking garage in the back of the building as well.
