The Irish Village has been a favorite Irish Pub and Brighton landmark since the 1970s. This Boston Irish pub was renovated in 2003 and continues its long standing reputation as a fun and friendly neighborhood pub with a clean, comfortable, stylish feel. With a staff of friendly bartenders and relaxed atmosphere The Irish Village is the perfect place to hang out with friends, drink some Guinness & enjoy watching the game on the plasma and big screen TV. The bar's centerpiece remains the solid U-shaped oak bar. Well-preserved antiques are everywhere, from the black and white photos of the Irish Village Soccer Club that line the wall above the bar to the original Guinness station located on the bar. Modern touches include a stylishly semi-private lounge set off from the room by a velvet curtain; providing guests with today's style in what still remains a true neighborhood Irish pub

The Scene
The Village's warm environs and friendly bartenders make it ideal for watching a game with friends while munching on above-average pub food. Expect a slightly older, relaxed crowd, especially during the day, when the affordable lunch menu is a favorite of nearby office workers.

The Draw

The bar is well stocked, though most patrons opt for the company of a perfectly poured pint of Guinness (there's a good selection of other beers on tap for those adverse to the black stuff). The kitchen satisfies munchies by churning out juicy burgers and hearty marinated steak tips (items average $5). Besides catching live sports on the numerous TVs, regulars pass the time by chucking darts.

Key Points

  • Live Music Every Weekend
  • Great Guinness
  • Largest Soccer Club In Boston

The Inside Scoop

  1. Know Before You Go - Mondays provide an alternative to the usual jukebox-provided tunes; DJs entertain the crowd with an eclectic assortment of tunes.

Recommend if you're looking to grab a local pint

by Jennifer F. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,792

My soccer team and I popped in here after one of our local games. It's a nice local Irish pub - good place to grab a drink, watch a game, catch up with the locals. Not an overly large bar but good for a casual night out if you live in the area.

A cozy neighborhood pub

by gcrannell

This is a great place to go for a relaxing (inexpensive) pint. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a lot of dark wood, booths, and a large bar in the center of the room. The staff have always been friendly and the service quick whenever I have gone there. They have a juke box which provides a wide range of music, and it is played at a volume that facilitates conversation among friends. Just an FYI, they don't serve food anymore. However, when I asked the bartender for a menu, he said that I could go across the street to the pizza place and bring my food back if I wanted. Definitely a plus if you get hungry after a couple of beers!
