My fiance had my engagement ring designed by Serjeo and it was absolutely stunning. The quality of the diamond and setting was top notch. We moved from Boston to Virginia about a year and a half ago. When it came time to design our wedding bands Serjeo was our first and only choice. We traveled all the way from Northern Virginia to Boston just to see Serjeo. My fiance and I had no idea what type of wedding bands we wanted. Serjeo helped us through the process and made many helpful suggestions. He never tried to sell us something we didn't want. We are a young couple and price is very important. He helped us to stay well within our budget.
When you meet Serjeo you immediately know that customer service is paramount and his top priority is to create quality work for a fair and competitive price. Serjeo is patient and kind. He did not rush us. We felt welcome and special in his studio. He will help design a piece for you that is uniquely you. I know that my ring is special and nobody else will have anything like it. He is no doubt the best jeweler in Boston and perhaps the country. I will never go to anyone else to buy or design jewelery.

I would highly recommend Serjeo. I went to the jeweler that made myoriginal wedding rings. As it was my10 year anniversary, my husband and I decided to get them reset by her. Long story with her that I won't go into as there isn't enough space, ended up with us getting our old setting back ruined and the stones lose.

I didn't know where to turn to get them fixed. I did a google search and up popped Serjeo's name and all those nice reviews. I wasn't sure about them, but decided as all I had was a bunch of stones and a setting that I couldn't use, the situation couldn't get any worse.

Well, Serjeo took his time and examined my stones, pronounced them real (wasn't sure after the way the other jeweler acted shady) and asked me what I wanted. I showed him pictures and he took out some settings he had and we modified them slightly to accommodate what I was looking for. He said they would be ready in 2 weeks and charged me a very reasonable price, he showed me what the price of gold was going for at that moment so I knew he was being honest from the start. He took my ruined settings and gave me money back for them, again, showing me the price right there.

I went and picked up my rings as promised and they look absolutely amazing. I cannot tell you how many comments I receive on them and how many people I tell who to go to for their jewelry. There are a lot of unethical people out there but Serjeo is not one of them. He is in fact a master craftsman and a pleasure to do business with. I cannot say enough nice things about him. I took a chance knowing nothing about him except these reviews and I can say, I am so pleased I would recommend him and his services to the world. Wonderful working with you Serjeo. If anyone bumps into my husband, mention to him how lovely a 40th birthday gift from Serjeo would be!!

Serjeo has been such a pleasure to work with. My fiancee and I heard about him from a friend that bought his engagement ring there. I had a picture in my head of my wedding band and couldn't find it anywhere. Serjeo immediately accommodated my request and 2 days ago we picked up our two rings for the wedding. My ring is light and comfortable, sparkly and beautiful. My fiancee's ring is sturdy and fits his hand size well (i often thing men's rings are too clunky).

Serjeo cleaned my engagement ring (that we got somewhere else) and it sparkles so much now. He said to stop by anytime and he will clean it and my new band.

His prices were in line with other jewelers... except he makes everything from scratch and it is custom done.

Kudos to Serjeo. He understands the drama of weddings and does his best to make getting the rings a seamless process.

I had Serjeo repair my wedding set. He gave me a very attractive price even though I had not printed off the Citysearch coupon. When I asked him to give me an estimate on the repair, he was very thorough. I am an engineer, so I was very impressed with his assessment of what was causing various stones to come loose in my ring. This has been a problem since the ring was new. The diamond is old and has a small chip in it which makes installing it in a contemporary setting a bit tricky, apparently. I did not think it was possible, but the diamond in my engagement ring fits more snugly than when I first had the diamond installed! Also, the whole set is smoother and better polished! The ruby he replaced in the wedding band matches perfectly with the old ones so that I cannot tell which one he replaced. Also, he said he corrected some loose stones that became evident only after he cleaned the ring, at no extra charge. Upon leaving his office, I was already impressed with the care shown to something that is so sentimental to me; ladies you know what mean. I was even more impressed when his assistant caught up with me after I had left the shop, saying I had left the complimentary jewelry pouch on the counter. I was looking for a jeweler I would be able to come to for jewelry and repairs over the years to come. It looks like I?ve found him!

I've written a past review of Serjeo and someone (a competitor, probably) came along right after and said that the reviews are suspicious. I'm here to say that all these rave reviews are genuine simply because Serjeo's one of the best. The first time around was when I had Serjeo collaborate with my fiancee to make her engagement ring. This second time around was for her wedding band and a refurbishment of my father's band so that I can wear it. My fiancee was a little hesitant that Serjeo would be able to make her a wedding band that fit with her engagement ring because it was an asymmetrical design (you can find it on flickr by searching "engagement ring serjeo"--CitySearch won't allow me to post the link), so she was expecting to have something made that she would make separate. Apparently Serjeo had thought about this all well in advance because the moment Sam mentioned not being able to have the two bands together, Serjeo told us what he had envisioned for it. We deferred to his judgment and couldn't be happier--the rings look beautiful together and my fiancee can't wait to get married so she can wear them together. Of course, Serjeo's work on restoring my father's wedding band was great as well. He took it from a well-worn and tarnished band to a family heirloom. Again, it was another excellent experience: the right price, flexibility with scheduling, and the highest level of customer service. Serjeo knocks himself out to make you happy. We couldn't be more pleased with the results and I take every chance I get to recommend him.

Cons: if you want a ring tomorrow, this place isn't for you. go to tiffany's and spend $10,000 too much instead.

Ok, sitting at my office computer as I have just picked the ring up from Serjeo. It looks amazing, I had pictures of the design I wanted for him to work from. It was a design I saw in another jewelry store (that was going to overcharge by $8000 by the way) and the ring I saw in that store looks identical to the one that Serjeo has produced for me. I was doubtful that the subtleties of the rings simple yet elegant design would be copied perfectly and that the quality of the work would match that of the high end jewelers like Cartier, Tiffany & De Beers. I am very, very satisfied with not only the quality of the work but also the service provided (pre-production attention, mold viewing etc). Serjeo has provided me with an official appraisal of the ring for me to provide to the insurance company as well as all the relevant documentation such as the GIA certificate and the invoice. If I had one complaint to make about the experience with Serjeo is that the time to create the ring was no quick turn around. However, this is due I believe in part to mix up with the GIA at the beginning (see my first review) and also to the fact that because he does all the craftsmanship himself. Evidently he puts so much care into the pieces he creates that with so many customers it is imperative that you book him well in advance of any scheduled proposal date. When I came in today at one in the afternoon he had been working the previous night till eight in the morning, he went home to shower and then returned so he would be able to see me and his other appointments. All in all, I am very happy with the quality of work and will be using him now for all commissioned pieces, my faith in him to produce the results at a superior standard are now concrete. I had a meeting with Serjeo scheduled for this Saturday to see the mold of the ring. I had an email from his secretary/PA on Monday telling me that the mold was ready ahead of schedule and if I was free I could come in on Wednesday (today) to see it. Being a little nervous/unsure yet excited to see how it would look I decided to take the early appointment. I was expecting to see an imprint of the ring itself and have to use my imagination of how it would look in the form of a ring, I was a little confused when Serjeo took out a little plastic box with an orange ring inside it. Asking me to handle it carefully (as many people accidently break it) to inspect it, it was the exact design of the ring I had commissioned. The ring looked amazing, despite being sculpted out of orange wax. He explained how the colour tricked the eye into seeing it as being bulkier than it actually was due to the wax not showing the depth and lines of the ring as metal would. Regardless, with a little imagination (especially when he placed the diamond in the wax mold) I was able to see how it would turn out. I am now more confident than ever that the ring is going to look fantastic and can not wait to see the final version in a couple of weeks.

I am telling you...I would not get this service at Cartier, Tiffany or any of those other jewelers here in Boston.

I don't think I would get this back home in London either, none of my friends back home have had this kind of experience and if they did it would probably cost them a pretty penny.

I will write one more review in a couple of weeks when I see the ring, this is a busy time of year for Serjeo (a lot of us guys propose in the spring/summer apparently) though the way things are going I am confident he will get it done in time now.

I can only write one review per email/username so it will most likely be under the name of AJTG3.

Ok people, first of all any of you who walk into a jewelry store not knowing anything about diamonds deserve to be taken for a ride. Look up diamonds on wikipedia before even stepping into a store to look for your wife-to-be's ring.

I am sure a lot of you see raving reviews about Serjeo below and feel a little suspicious about whether they are genuine or not....which is why I thought I would write a review that tracks my experience.

I am currently waiting on the mold of the ring to be presented to me.

Serjeo delivers the usual good sales man banter "I am your friend and I am here to help you" but he really is a great guy to work with. Only complaint, he is sometimes so busy he doesn?t always call you back right away. (I suppose it is also a good sign that he is busy)

He does the talk about the diamonds he has and will recommend you something that will be of quality and to your budget, not over it. I have a lovely stone selected for my ring and I am very happy with the price.

However, the selection is small and despite his claims to have a huge supply of diamonds the selection presented to me was of high quality but low volume. It would have been nice to have more of a range...

There have been problems with getting stones back from the GIA but this is not his fault and could be contributing to the lack of selection.

His workmanship (he makes the ring for you) is excellent and his style is classic/elegant with a modern twist. A true artist from what I have seen and comparable to that of other designers like Cartier, De Beers, Longs & Tiffany (except without doubling the price of the ring just because of the name).

Before you pay $15,000 for a generic ring (like a million women will own) in one of those stores, go to him for a consultation.

You can get the same (if not better) for less than half price with Serjeo...worth going for a chat.

I will let you know how the ring turns out in a couple of weeks (if he makes the deadline!).

Serjeo is simply the best thing that could have happened to me, besides finding my future wife. I came to Serjeo with an impossible task: I needed a custom designed ring and I needed it fast. And to top it off, I'm a poor medical student. Serjeo graciously worked within my budget and time constraint to come up with an elegant solution that was PERFECT. Of course, my girlfriend is now my fiancee.

The moment I met Serjeo I trusted him. I could tell that he is a master jeweler and he has a wealth of knowledge, experience and pride in his work. There was no pressure to move me into something that I did not want or need. He took everything into consideration and created a beautiful, unique ring that she loves. Whenever I would come to his office to talk about the ring, he greeted me and treated me as if we've been old friends. Believe me, there is something to be said for the man who gets his girl something that is completely custom made. These rings are not your typical cookie cutter rings that you find in the mall. Serjeo opened my eyes and I will come back to him forever - no matter where I end up in my life. It is rare to have an encounter like this. If you live anywhere near Boston and you don't go to Serjeo you are seriously making a major mistake.

My friend recommended Serjeo to me. He spent 6 months looking for the best jeweler and determined Serjeo to be the best. As an electrical engineer, my friend is incredibly meticulous and thorough. His recommendation was spot on. My ring was a non-trivial custom design, but Serjeo went above and beyond to make the design a reality. He is professional and communicates well. His ultimate goal is to deliver a piece of jewelery that will make you happy, so he will give candid advice and try to find what is best for you.

For example, twice he recommended a diamond/feature that saved me money. His rationale was the the extra money would not make the design much more elegant and it is not worth putting pressure on the bank account for an incremental improvement. Ultimately, he argued, if you are not comfortable with your purchase (including the cost), you will have some reservations about the design. His goal is to make you happy. The second time he recommended a cheaper design was with the width of the wedding band. By making a slightly skinnier (and therefore cheaper) band, it would actually enhance the engagement ring. He was right on both accounts. There is no doubt that my wife and I are happy our purchase. He delivered on his primary goal: our happiness.

One indication of an excellent jeweler is that he does not have to advertise. All of his business is by word of mouth. I could not have asked anything more in a jeweler. It is obvious that someone of his talent would be overwhelmed with business if he actually did advertise.

My fiance just gave me the engagement ring we had made with Serjeo and it is perfect in every way: price, beauty, fit, workmanship, size, you name it. I brought him an old ring from my great-grandmother made in an antique style and said, "I want it to be exactly like this, but better!" I wouldn't asked except that I believed, based on others' experience, he could do it. And he did, way above expectations, and all for much less money than expected.
Other jewelers had tried to talk me out of what I wanted, or said it was impossible, but not Serjeo. My fiance is an engineer and everything has to have a logical reason: nothing can be a sales pitch, and even he was ENTIRELY HAPPY with the experience. Big, small, old, new, your own design, his design, you're not even sure what you want: doesn't matter, Serjeo will deliver. Go to Serjeo and then go to lots of other jewelers - I promise you'll see the difference before you even put any money down.
Note that he does beautiful designed "everyday" pieces too, and does groomsmen/bridesmaid gifts and a ton of other stuff - whatever you need.
I think the fact that people are signing their names on the comments means a lot about how real they are and how unique the experience is.

I am a financially challenged graduate student working with a very limited budget and trying to buy something nice for my fiancee. I was lucky enough to inherit a diamond, so I was really just looking for someone to set it for me. I visited Serjeo on my own about five times and went in twice with my fiancee (she lives out of state). Serjeo was more than happy to help me work out my logistical difficulties, and he made absolutely sure that I understood innumerable little details about diamonds and the properties of different kinds of metals. I never felt even remotely pressured to spend more money than I wanted to (in fact Serjeo tried to sell my fiancee on a cheaper design than the one she wanted!), and even though he wasn't selling me a diamond he spent a lot of time and effort making sure we got exactly what we wanted. He made us both feel extremely comfortable and at the end of the day I got something that was custom made for the price of something that would have been pre-fabricated anywhere else. It is abundantly clear that Serjeo is passionate about jewelery, I heard tips from him that I didn't hear anywhere else (I visited all the standard places like Joseph Gann and Freedman) , and his prices are more than reasonable. I would recommend checking out a number of places before settling on a jeweler (it is an educational experience if nothing else), but Serjeo is the best one in the area. Just be sure to call before showing up because he isn't always in the office and it is seems to be a one man operation.

The quality and selection of jewellery at Serjeo is excellence at it's best. Each piece of jewellery I tried on was unique and well made. The effort and detail they put into their pieces is quite visible, even to the untrained eye. No matter your style I think you will find something to choose from. A great expert jeweler.

When we decided to get married, my girlfriend and I visited several retail and wholesale jewelers and were disappointed with the selection and service they had to offer. She (my girlfriend) was looking for something outside of the norm and we weren't able to find it in the cookie-cutter selection most stores and wholesalers have to offer. I was looking for excellent service (which is extremely lacking in the retail stores) and value. Serjeo not only met both of our expectations but exceeded them. The experience left us confident that the ring Serjeo would craft would be exactly what my girlfriend had envisioned. Serjeo is not just a jeweler; he's an artisan and a great businessman. We won't hesitate to use his services again.

Serjeo is the best....best client service, best prices, best quality. You'd be crazy to go to any other jewler. I was referred to Serjeo about 3 years and am so thankful!! At our first meeting, he spent 2 hours with my husband and I - educating us on EVERYTHING anyone want to know about diamonds. It was unbelieveable...I was so intrigued and we felt well informed when the time came to make the purchase. Serjeo was (and still is!) always available for questions and advice. He advised me on the style of wedding band that would look best with my engagement ring...I get comppliments on it all the time. I have since referred a co-worker (who purchased diamond earring for his wife), my mother (who purchased diamond earrings and a diamond pendant, and also had jewlery repaired), and my sister (who purchased diamond earrings). All of his pieces are custom made with unbelieveable precision...he can make anything you can imagine come to life. Call Serjeo and make an appointment - I guarantee you will be glad you did!!!!!

As I was shopping for rings I found that nearly every jeweler had nothing but glowing reviews for the person they ended up buying from. I think people put enough time and thought into a big purchase such as jewelry that they are generally pleased with what they get. I worked with about 10 different jewelers in the boston area before picking one. I met with serjeo several times. He had some nice stones, but he didn't have nearly the selection of diamonds that other jewelers had. Every time I went in he would remind me that he has access to $20 milllion worth of diamonds and that all the other jewelers were buying diamonds from him. However, he would present me with only a few stones and tell me that they were all that were available. Each time, after narrowing down the choice to one stone, he would tell me that it just came in and that there was another store or another customer that was going to buy it later that day but that he liked me and wanted to sell it to me so if I let him know within a few hours or in the next day he would hold it for me. The first time I semi-believed him, the times after that I realized it was most likely a weak sales technique. He also must have told me about 100 times during each meeting that he was better than everyone else because he wants me to be a long time customer. I believed him the first time, didn't need to be continually reminded. I ended up going with a jeweler that was comparably priced but was able to present me with 3 times as many options. If you know exactly what you want I would reccomend giving him a call and seeing what he can produce, otherwise I would say there are other options in the same building that are able to give you many more choices.

Pros: Same guy you buy the stone from builds the ring for you.

I found Serjeo on citysearch after already purchaisng another ring and decided I might as well see some other options before it was too late to return it. Serjeo was patient, extremely knowledgeable, sensitive to my limited budget and very skilled in helping me articulate what I really wanted. I quickly returned the other ring. In the end, we came up with a design that you cannot find at any other jeweler and was within my budget. Everybody loves it! If you have had the disappointing realization that most jewelers carry nearly identical rings and are hopeing for something with personal meaning, try Serjeo.

I recently purchased diamonds from Serjeo. You must set an appointment with him so he can work with you one on one and I have to say that it was a far more positive experience than I ever thought possible. I was never rushed and never felt forced to buy. I too was somewhat ignorant but after 30 minutes with him, I was much more educated. I would recommend him to anyone!!

After an unsuccessful attempt at buying a ring online (I bought a ring that was far too big and had to return it...), my fiancee and I decided to make an appointment with Serjeo. Like many first-time diamond buyers, I was afraid of getting pushed into buying an ugly or completely unaffordable ring... Serjeo put us at ease immediately and explained all the basics. We compared diamonds of different sizes and grades, and then looked at the diamonds on a few settings. Serjeo also used a photo of a ring that I provided to suggest a design. We never felt pressed to buy a ring that was out of our budget, and the result delighted my fiancee. We will return soon for wedding bands!

I recently purchased an engagement ring from Serjeo. First of all, the comments about Serjeo's customer service are real. I contacted Serjeo over the phone to set up an appointment, and during the phone call we discussed what exactly I was looking for in the ring. For some issues, I was relatively ignorant, but Serjeo helped educate me. When I came in, he presented a range of options within my budget. I could both see and understand the differences, as Serjeo will patiently explain diamonds in general and specific stones in detail. The finished ring is absolutely stunning. I am extremely satisfied with the process and service Serjeo provided, and my fiancee absolutely loves the ring.

After much reviewing and research my boyfriend and I went to see Serjeo for my perfect engagement ring. The first time we met with Serjeo we received a lesson, not a sales pitch. He educated us in detail, with props, the differences between diamonds, and rather than push us to buying a piece he told us to take our time..What kind of jeweler says that? One that knows customer service and quality. We left Serjeo's with information and the knowledge that we had just found our jeweler. I had my ring custom made by Serjeo and he helped us find the perfect diamond within our budget, NOT OVER IT! I can not express how appreciative I am because I had just about given up on "my perfect ring". Thank you Serjeo! We have found our jeweler for years and years to come!

I had previously had bad experiences with the jeweler I used in the past so had spent quite a bit of time looking for a reputable jeweler who made high quality pieces. After visiting and speaking with several that had been recommended, I ultimately chose Serjeo because of his great demeanor and willingness to work with me to create pieces I would be happy with. Serjeo spent HOURS with me to design my wedding and engagement rings. I appreciated all of his creative suggestions and was impressed with his knowledge and his fantastic customer service. I am THRILLED with my new rings and would recommend Serjeo to anyone without any reservation.

My fiance and I had the best experience with Serjeo in finding the perfect engagement ring. We shopped all of Boston and found no one as honest and tallented as Serjeo. He was the most professional and intelligent jeweler that we had met with, he sat us down for 2-3 hours and told us everything there is to know about purchasing a diamond and his prices were extremely reasonable and beat anyone else's around. We found Serjeo on citysearch and having just moved to Boston. Instantly we were impressed with his demeanor and his sincerity towards his work. At the appointment he was never pushy or rushed. He let us take our time with each stone and showed the diamonds with a white background and from different viewpoints. Later I found out through my own research this is the true way a loose diamond should be shown. We left feeling happy with our purchase only to call him later that week and ask if he could have the ring ready one week earlier than originally scheduled. He honored the request without any question. When we picked up the ring it was more beautiful than we had anticipated. We would highly recommend Serjeo to anyone without hesitation. He is a true artist and respects his work and customers. He will always have our business.

I went to see Serjeo before any other place thanks to the Citysearch reviews and he encouraged me to go and shop around and then come back before I make a decision on a jeweler. The more places I visited the more I could appreciate Serjeo's work quality flexibility and honesty. He spent about 3 hours with me teaching me about how to critically look at diamonds and stay within my budget at the same time. The finished engagement ring was absolutely stunning, my fiance loves it and we are both extremely happy with the entire ring-buying experience from Serjeo.

I went to Serjeo asking for an appraisal on a ring which I am trying to sell. Rather than simply taking my money and drafting an appraisal, he recommended against it saying it would be a waste of my money on something I intend to sale anyways. Instead he machine polished and cleaned the ring, took professional photos of the ring, helped me write an online ad, and told me how much I should expect to get. He met with me for FOUR HOURS one on one... all this without asking for money. When he says he wants to make you a lifetime customer, he is not just blowing smoke. He means it. I read a review posted in February 2007 saying that his reviews seem "fishy." I felt I needed to come back and edit my review in response. If you haven't been to see Serjeo, don't post a review. If you have, odds are you'll understand why he gets the reviews he does.

My fiance and I were still new to Boston when her engagement ring fell off her hand!!! A heart attack later, we found it and went to work looking for a Jeweler immediately. Luckily we found Serjeo on Citysearch. He resized the ring while we waited and watched him work in his private studio. We were so impressed with his service we bought a diamond from him and were given the most wonderful tour and advice about the diamond world. His expertise and artistic eye are both impecable. He is very thorough from the beginning to the end of the process and works to accomadate his clients in any way possible. His attention to the most subtle detail of character is priceless and will have us returning to him for years to come.
