Paradise Rock Club

by Deana C. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,894

This legendary club is 25 years old but still a great place to have fun. It is a bit small for a club, but it does have a great state of the art sound system. And because of its smaller size, you can get close to the stage so that you are just feet away from your favorite rock stars. Great place to see local bands looking for their big break.

pretty good rock club

by Jesse L. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,871

The Paradise is a good rock club located out by BU. The acts that perform there tend to be rather popular indie bands or formerly popular rock bands. Whenever I'm there I find the shape of the venue rather odd. It seems much more wide than deep which means you can usually get a really good view no matter where you are standing.

PROS: good acts
CONS: none

Awesome

by Emily S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,892

I got my first taste of Paradise Rock Club a few nights ago, and I"m really impressed. Somehow, it has managed to be small enough to be intimate and allow the entire audience to have a view of the performer (gasp! what a concept!) and be spacious enough to not have the audience crammed in shoulder-to-shoulder. The sound was great and not deafening, the lights never caught me square in the eyes. A huge plus for summer shows- it has A/C!

Legendary

by Claire M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,763

When the Paradise reopened a few years ago, Allston breathed a sigh of relief. They could once again claim that they are indeed Allston-Rock City. The Paradise is actually two venues: The Lounge and the Rock Club. Both have a wide array of artists, and this is the place to catch rising starts before they go to larger venues. It's common to be hanging out with the band in the audience.
The Rock Club has an open floor for standing and two tiers of seating on the side. Drinks are affordable and they carry a wide selection.
A great place to go and not have to be in the nosebleed section for a good price. Shows are affordable and always entertaining.
The Paradise is right off the T.

PROS: location, location, location...up and coming acts and has beens you love

Small, but great club

by Kirsten J. | insider Insider | Rank: 16,268

I've had a great time at this club, as it's always got a hip crowd at shows, and is small enough to give you an intimate feeling with the bands there. Usually cheaper than Avalon or Axis shows, depending on the musician.
