3 Stars: Good Seafood (by Kyra T.)

Legal Sea food has some good food, however I would expect more out of a place that specializes in seafood. The service can be slow and the food is really pricey.

3 Stars: Freshness is the Attraction (by Howard M.)

However, the food tends to be a bit too pricy. The place is too crowded most of the time. It is a bit disordered. The seafood itself is excellent, but sometimes the quantity is too low.

5 Stars: Spectacular all around! (by Dan R.)

Legal Seafood is among the best restaurants I have ever visited. The food is amazing, high priced but worth it, the atmosphere is spectacular, and the waitstaff is courteous and quick. The waits are usually not short, but it is worth it, and there is a bar to sit at. They specialize in seafood, though everything there is spectacular. The foods are healthier than one would expect, and I completely recommend this restaurant to anyone!

PROS: Fantastic food and service
CONS: Long wait and high prices

3 Stars: good for groups (by Emma F.)

Legal Sea Food's status as the bar-setter for classic preparations of New England seafood favorites -- chowder, steamers, cod with bread crumbs -- has slipped in the last decade. But it's still a decent place for self-evident preparations of familiar foods, and for your out-of-town friends and their kids, it does the job of providing a 'quintessentially Boston' dining experience. The Chestnut Hill location has a pretty exciting interior design (a little tacky, but definitely unusual), and the staff is good at accommodating large and very large parties. I think of this as a solid 'occasion' restaurant when not all the people are familiar and when a lot of different tastes need to be accommodated.

5 Stars: Yummm! (by Jess B.)

Legals is a great place to bring family and friends visiting from out of town. It takes reservations which puts it far ahead of Chessecake on my list. The Legal's in Chestnut Hill is especially great because it is easy to get to and there is always TONS of parking right beside it. The food is fab as well.
