I had an 11 am appt....you would think that a responsible person could wake up on time to get to work by 11, right? I am greeted by someone who has to stop cutting someone else's hair to attend to me.

my stylist comes strolling in 15 minutes late, doesn't introduce herself by name and brings me to the back to give me the most superficial wash I'm sure I've ever had. And, not exaggerating, the wash chairs were the most uncomfortable I've ever sat in. My neck was killing me during the whole wash.

So she seats me back down and I see her set aside a mangled black rag that I would only ever use to dust my furniture. If you're going to use a rag like that, don't let the customer see it!!!

She asks me how I part my hair, I tell her and she proceeds to cut noticeably in a hurry. By the end of the cut, I noticed she had started to cut my hair as if I parted it on other side. I told her, she said, "oops, i'm sorry," and put the apron back on me and cut some more.

The place is bad and the stylist was bad

I will continue to post this same review on every site I know.

If you've never tried threading for eyebrow shaping, you have to go to Leeba Salon and make an appointment with Giada. Not only is it inexpensive, she's extremely detailed, and the results are excellent. Threading is new to the United States but Giada has been doing it for many many years - it is more accurate than waxing and quicker than tweezing.

PROS: Reasonable, accurate, great results

This is a great place to get your hair done. They are fast, friendly and fun. The men who work there are FANTASTIC. I have never left with a bad haircut, even when I gave them liberty to do whatever they wanted. The dye jobs are great, they always fit your look. The waxing is well done and cheaply priced.

I recently went into the state st location and saw saliba and got highlights and brazilian keratin treatment in the same day and my hair looks fabulous for the first time. I got a great deal and the prices are great and affordable. I have never received so many compliments on my hair. It is very manageable and easy to style, has great shine. I highly recommend both the salon and saliba.

I did my hair with Saliba, the owner, and had a very good experience. First ,he retouched my grey hair and then did the highlights on top. The color was a perfect match to my original hair color and the highlights were done in the right thickness and in a warm caramel hue as I have asked. I will certainly go back!

I went here over the summer to take advantage of the color/cut special for $65. Ahmed was my stylist... he wasn't the best colorist (he had me pick from a book of hair color samples; formerly, my stylist in CT would take a look, listen to what I wanted, and provide me w/ an awesome color) and he seemed a little nervous doing the coloring and had to consult with other stylists for the coloring. However, he did an excellent job at cutting my hair! It looked fabulous when I was done. However, the thing I don't like about Leeba (and dellaria's, and any other hair salon near a university) is they take advantage of overcharging college students - even though the special was $65, they charged me extra because I had "long" hair (it was only an inch or two past my shoulders, how is that long?!). I referred my boyfriend to Ahmed, and he's been going to Leeba for almost a year now. He told me that Ahmed left, though - however, there are a bunch of great stylists there. I'm glad he's happy, but I wasn't overly impressed with Leeba's professionalism so I probably won't go back unless I'm desperate.

Charbel works at two Leeba locations: Summer St in Downtown Crossing and Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton. He is one of the best hairstylists I've ever been to -- only in Europe have I had comparable haircuts. I've been going to him for several years and even though I've recently moved north of Boston and have a 4 month old baby, I still make the trip into Boston to see him. I highly recommend him -- I get so many compliments on my hair....he knows what to do!

I started going to 1024 commwealth location last year after moving from Europe. I have been doing highlights half my life but the magic that George does on my hair stands no comparison. I do high/lowlights every couple of months and even though I have discount at Marc Harris now, I am definitely not switching my hair stylist. When people on the street ask you where do you get your hair done, you know Leeba did a good job.
Luv u guys!

I am shocked at negative reviews Leeba Salon has received. I am a loyal customer and have been getting my hair done on a regular basis at Leeba Salon for almost eight years. I have never left the salon unhappy.

#1) The owner, Saliba Shako, is by far the most accessible and talented hairdresser I have ever met. I was a walk-in many years ago and very unhappy with my hair cut and its color. I have very thick curly hair and at the time, my highlights were a mess. I didn't need to say a word to him, he gave me a haircut and corrected my color - and I have been going to him ever since. I actually moved to Worcester for a few years, and still drove to have him do my hair. Saliba can be found in the various locations and always makes himself available to me at a moment's notice.

#2) the other salon associates go through a strict training regiment with Saliba. I have witnessed it personally as he does my hair with them. He is very firm with his technique and I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that any of the associates are not up to par. I would have to problem having another associate work on my hair.

#3) the prices are to die for. Leeba Salon does great work at very affordable prices. They are good to the their customers and I never leave there feeling pressured to buy products or unhappy with how I look. It goes without saying that after so many years, I truly walk in to the salon and don't need to say a word. I always leave feeling beautiful.

I honestly don't think anyone should put any regard to the negative reviews. I am still shocked! I've always said that if Saliba moved his salons to another state...I would move along with them.

I'm really surprised about the negative reviews for Leeba; I must have lucked out. I took advantage of that haircut & color offer Leeba always has posted outside their door and was not dissapointed with the results I received from stylist Denyse. I have curly hair and have had a series of tepid haircuts in "nicer" salons throughout Boston. Denyse gave me great highlights and an easy cut that I can literally just wash and go and always looks adorable. She is very laid-back and chatty. I found the front desk staff to be friendly and overall the two times I've been it's been a low-maintenance, cheerful affair with great hair results. For a pretty affordable cut and color that will look great, I would definitely recommend Denyse at the Brookline Leeba on Comm Ave.

I have been coloring my hair for about 5 years now and this is by far the worst color job I have EVER received. I told the woman explicitly that I came in because of some discoloration at my hair line around my forehead. I get blonde highlights but for whatever reason around my forehead turns reddish between colorings. So I pointed this out as being my main concern and reason for the visit. After the foils came out and she washed my hair, the red was still just as profound. Noticeably upset, I pointed this out to her and she brought over one of the other hairstylists, George. He said he could fix it no problem. After he put foils in, washed and blowdried my hair, the area around my face was STARK blonde... like peroxide blonde and didn't match the rest of my haircolor. Leaving Leeba, I made an appointment at a better salon as soon as they could take me. I will NEVER go back to Leeba. They act like they know what they're doing so initially I had a lot of confidence in their ability but I'm kicking myself now for going back after a pretty awful haircut on my last visit.

The only thing I would consider going to Leeba for is their waxing... they are realllllly good with their waxing. But they will never touch the hair on my head again.

I would not recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a good haircut. I got there on time for my appointment but I had to wait around for half an hour because the stylists didn't show up that day or something. So I had to wait around for someone to have a free moment to cut my hair. I told her (I wish I could remember her name) that I wanted to cut my hair really short and she told me that it wouldn't look good (or she didn't want to waste her time) so she trimmed my hair in about 5 minutes and asked if I wanted to have it naturally dry or have it blown dry. I told her I wanted it blown dry but it was her choice so she said I should have it naturally dry. So I paid someone 30 something dollars to cut my hair and leave the store with wet hair. It was a horrible haircut because it didn't even look like she did anything. Oh and she also caught her comb on my earring and told me in a nasty voice that I should have told her I had on earrings. And she also tripped and fell on me.

My fault ,. I forgot that you have to explain everything down to minute details to hairstylist. Otherwise you would get his version of a haircut.
I think they terribly overbook on Weekends. They don't have time for their clients and only talk to each other instead of to their clients.
Because of constantly being distructed by each as well as trying to handle 3 clients at once they do poor job. I would not exaggerate by saying that I have gotten the worst haircut of my life their. Coloring is another horror story I have no energy to write about.
It?s not the money that I paid It?s the depressed mood that these amateurs put me into for a month.
I strongly advise against using this salon for anything other than trimming job.

Leeba Salon in comm ave has the best waxing and threading in boston and believe me i have been to a number of salons. rejina over there has hand as gentle as can be yet she is fast. my appointment was on time and i was in and out of there in like 40 mins. i got my brows threaded and my whole body waxed. she was so gentle i could not believe it. and the best part was that it did not even hurt me. her threading was precise. i look great and i feel great. the price was also good. for a job like that i would not mind paying a lilttle more!

I was referred this place by my friend when i was in boston. but since then i have always had a reason to come back to boston. Rejina was great at eveything. i fell asleep as she massaged me....... it was so good and relaxing. even when she waxed...... it was a painless procedure. My eye brows were done perfectly. all in all i had the best time and found a new friend in her.

Marlene left much to be desired. Her haircuts? Mediocre and BORING--she doesn't listen to you at all--maybe that's b/c she's always on her cell phone. I got a wedding hair trial with her--big mistake but so glad I didn't book her for the actual wedding. I brought in photos, ideas and the veil. She only curled it. Last time I checked it was my wedding and you listen to what the paying customer asks for. Dellaria knows how to treat their customers and with that I've been happily going there for a year.

The woman who used to do threading--Pretty? She was great. The new girl is not. Uneven brows? No thanks. Rude receptionist? You betcha.

My hair experience at the Comm Ave location was terrible! The receptionist was rude and the salon and employees came off as unprofessional (what they wore, how they socialized amongst themselves, etc.). My stylist, Zena, took me to wash my hair before even bothering to look at my hair in its dry state to see how it was shaped and how I wanted it cut. She washed my hair with cold water, was very rough in washing, brushing, and drying it (my neck is still sore!), and did the absolute opposite of what I requested. I simply wanted a trim to get rid of split ends and even out my hair. She took literally 30 seconds to cut it (only trimmed the bottom of my hair, ignoring all the layers I have) and when I asked her to cut the split ends off ALL my layers, not just the longest layer, she argued with me about it. After she dried my hair I showed her all the split ends that remained and she haphazardly cut them off (with my hair dry), and told me that next time we will put layers in. THERE WONT BE A NEXT TIME! Although there was no one in the salon (this should have been my clue not to go in...) Zena seemed like she wanted to rush me out of there. I urge you to save your looks, time, and money and go elsewhere.

I've been going to George on Comm Ave for 5 years now- cheated on him once (while vacationing in hawaii) and will never do it again. He has taken me from black to blonde and every variation in between absolutely effortlessly. It's incredibly cheap and all of my friends rave about their blowouts for days after. Lastly, I do like attention (!) but the amount one receives on exiting, borders upon embarrassing- one looks photo shoot ready. Love this place, especially love George :)

waxing/threading:
ghada at the summer street salon is EXCELLENT....shes quick and the process is painless
regina at the comm ave salon--DO NOT GO TO HER. after i specifically told her not to make my eyebrows too thin, she took forever and made them too thin anyway. i went back thinking it was a one time thing...the next time not only did she make my eyebrows thin again, she ripped part of my skin near my underarm when waxing my arms--i had a huge purple bruise and still have a scar 2 months later. on top of that, she was concerned that i would take legal matters against her, but not about my pain or bruising. do not go to her, make the trip to the summer street salon for ghada instead.

Hair completes your look, eye-catching hair will affect the way you feel and will always improve your appearance. I can proudly say I have found the stylist to help us achieve a better look! If you have been searching like me, your search is over. Marlene is not only beautiful she is very knowledgeable and has such an amazing talent. I have ended my twelve-year search of Massachusetts. My hair was crying for help having survived through all the bad cuts, bad colors, bad styles, curly and straight. I now have the best cut, color and blow-dry in my life, I am so lucky to have found her. Every time I leave the salon I feel like I am ready for my photo shoot, and I attach myself to a mirror. Marlene thank you sooooo much! You rock!

Pros: All I care for is my stylist and my hair. I do notice my surroundings and the treatment I receive, I have absolutely no complaints.

Cons: Nothing-obviously.

I usually get an average haircut (I'm a college student) but when I walked into leeba (627 comm ave) fr the first time the guy who cut my hair (Charbel) is from sweden and wanted to give it a euro look. I'm usually not into the stylist deciding my hair but it was a great choice because its one of the best haircuts I have ever gotten. He used a razor blade which feels odd but the result is awesome. It was the ideal length and he made sure it was perfect or I could get my money back! He's my hair guy now and it was also pretty reasonable at 25 bucks.

I suffer no qualms about paying a bundle for a super style, and until I visited Charbel, believed in my heart that you get what you pay for in the salon. Charbel and my hair now have a relationship. And I 'm frankly a bit embarassed at how little they charge. It's not fancy, don't expect to be mollycoddled. It's about making a fabulous EXIT.

I asked for a smal trim I told him 4 times I didnt want my hair short so what does he do, cuts all my hair off. I am so angry everytime I look in the mirror. Coincidentally I went 2 weeks earlier and had some highlights put in my hair, NOW THEY ARE ALL CUT OFF! I must end this review now because it is making me think of my short, stupid hairtcut. BY THE WAY i AM A MAN
AND TELL ALL MEN --DONT GO THERE!

I came into Leeba to get a brazilian wax (only my second one ever). I waited about 20 minutes and then was greeted by a woman who did not speak very good english and could not understand the directions I gave her. From the moment I lay down on the table I knew something was wrong - she began putting the wax on before it was hot enough and then wouldn't get the hair off in one motion. She obviously had no idea what she was doing and half way through I told her to stop and that I was going to leave - at which point she confessed that it was her first day there and she'd never done a brazilian wax before!! It then took another 10 minutes for her to get all the wax off of me that was just thrown on in the first place. I was absolutely butchered and would not recommend this salon unless it's with someone who you know has absolutely done this before!

i recently had services (cut and color) at this salon. it was my first time there. they put me with a fairly young girl but said that she was a very good stylist. i had the worst experience. for starters she smelled like she didnt shower in a week. when i sat in the chair waiting for her to start she went outside for what felt like 15 minutes. i should have left then. she basically butchered my hair and burnt my scalp with the chemicals. i kept saying that it was burning but she said that it was very strong bleach and not to worry. she kept leaving the area to go outside while i had the stuff on. i didnt talk much to her because now i was mad. she didnt say anything about it the condition of my scalp. i paid for my services but did not leave her a tip or thank her. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. the girl was awful and my hair was ruined.

I have been a frequent client at Leeba salon for brazilian waxes and have been happy with my experiences. However, this past time I received the worst treatment ever. I was burned by the wax, some of my skin was ripped off, and I ended up swollen and scabby. It was a very painful experience. Usually waxes have a certain amount of pain and irritation but this was very severe. I would not recommend going back.

I love Leeba! I'm going crazeee without it nearby. The first time I went was when my cousin took me with her because we needed to get our hair styled for our other's cousin's wedding. I got Sam to style my hair and it was great. My hair is long and curly and he was able to style it straight and have it curl at the ends. It was gorgeous. Ever since then, I've been going there to get my hair cut and styled by him because he's so great, and so friendly, and cute may I add :). Also, the last time I went, I went and got my eyebrows done and the lady did such an amazing job. She was able to shape them exactly as I wanted! Now, every hair salon I go to can't compare, and if I could, I'd fly out there all the time to get my hair done by Sam and eyebrows shaped :) The best part is it's reasonably priced and nothing off the wall!

I went to Leeba as a nervous college student for my first brazilian (my first at all bikini wax) and she did a FABULOUS job.....of course, there was the normal pain associated with a bikini wax but it was quick, clean, and the woman was conversational and put me completely at ease. I felt comfortable walking out of the salon, had no bleeding or bruising and the results were fantastic and lasted for weeks. I got another a few months later at a salon in my hometown and realized how truly great Leeba was because my salon at home used waxing cloth strips that were slow, painful and left me bruised and bleeding. OUCH. Leeba was great -- I am traveling two hours back up to Boston this weekend just for another Brazilian there.

The atmosphere at first was a bit intimidating but the woman who did my waxing couldn't have been more pleasant.

Pros: Great Waxing, Very Nice Aesthetician, Not too Pricey for a Brazilian

Cons: Receptionist a Little Rude, Anything is Too Expensive for a College Girl!

I have never experienced such a bad waxing job before. Actually, I have...the last time I went to Leeba. I have tried them twice now, at the Summer street location with two different women and they have absolutely NO SKILL. I was left stubbly, in pain and red for the entire day. It was a complete waste of money. Do not go to any location because the same people go back and forth between locations.

Had a really bad coloring experience, had white stripes mixed with dark roots for my golden blonde color. They were rude and tried to have more experienced staff fix it, while telling me it came out fine. Be careful here.

I came in wanting a med-length, light-brown bob. I came out with a layered long-length BLACK nightmare. Once I got all the way home, I called and asked they redo it, and the receptionist said they could redo it for free. But, when I got there I had to argue with the receptionist and a stylist forever because they insisted that my black hair was light brown. (During this, I didn't get to speak to the manager once). Then, Charbel told me they'd do it for $50 and had to ask the manager to do it for free. Needless to say, it came out WORSE, with brassy and fake blonde highlights. I tried to redo it myself with at-home stuff, but no luck. Trust me, I don't do this often... I was so appalled by my color and cut that I will never go back and do not recommend it.

I booked an appointment but when I arrived I was kept waiting 30 minutes as my "hairdreser" was still with another client. A person came in shortly after me and was seen to straight away by another hairdresser who had no clients waiting. I had no preference as to who cut my hair as this was my first time to the salon(which I told the receptionist)so i was abit peeved that I had to wait 30 mins while someone else who had not booked just walked in. In the end the hairdresser didn't seem very skilled and did an average job...I won't be going back there again.

Leeba on State St:
Ghada is an amazing (and fast) waxer! She did both my arms in under 15 minutes. My skin was moisturized and looked healthy afterwards. Kiani gave me great layers on my haircut and was also quick. Highly recommended. Nice environment, great value.

I went in with a coupon and got a great haircut from Charbel. Even though he had that Euro stylist 'this is what i'm going to do with your hair' attitude I felt at ease. My hair turned out great! I was always chicken about doing anything daring so I lived with long thick hair parted down the middle for years. Now I love my hair! I was taken right away and was out in 45 minutes after styling as well. No pressure to buy anything.

The salon on summer street is fantastic! I walked in and just got an eye brow wax, but was greeted by the girl at the front desk. She even commented on my bracelet! I got the waxing done and the woman who did it was very precise and did an amazing job!!! I am scheduling to have my hair done there within the next few weeks! AWESOME PLACE! :)

This place was awful. Right when I sat down the girl was rude and not responsive to me. I almost walked out right then - and I should have. The girl who cut my hair did not listen to my specific request not to add layers to my hair. Within minutes she had cut bangs and choppy layers all around. My long straight hair quickly looked like a 1993 "Friends" hair-cut. I cried. The owner attempted to fix it. He too was quite rude and cut more layers and shorter bangs. I couldn't stop the hair massacre. On top of that they over charged me. It was awful and I would not reconmend this place to anyone.

I must mention the experience of having my hair washed at Leeba. The woman who washed my hair took her time and did an amazing job. It was really relaxing and quite a treat.

I had my haircut by Sam and he did an excellent job. He really listened to what I wanted and cut it exactly as I asked. (No surprises!) He also blow dryed by curly hair perfectly straight and curled it slightly underneath. I went to this salon (and to Sam specifically) because he was recommended by a few friends.

The wash, cut and blowdry was $45. It's a little more than what I usually pay however it is well worth it! You won't be disappointed. Try it out!

I went to this salon 3 times to try to get the color right. Each time the same person changed the base color which I did not want and added highlights, which looked so fake
& brassy. How many chances do you need to get it right? I paid a small fortune and was so disappointed with the results. Poor lighting and not a lot of English being spoken in this place which doesn't help matters....don't waste your time or money.

The person that colored my hair admitted to putting on the wrong color. After four hours of trying to fix the disaster that was my orange and pink hair, i left looking much worse than when i went in. The people that work in this salon are very lackadaisical and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place under any circumstance.
