Boston Bicycle

I have been a commuter cyclist for 10 years and have lots of experience with bike shops. Cambridge Bicycle is by far the worst. I used it because it was the closest one to me, but the staff are exceptionally rude and their skills with bike repair are terrible. One guy over-tightened a spoke and damaged my wheel so what would have been a simple truing job wound up being a brand new wheel build. I have a friend who bought a bicycle there and the bike was defective - the shop did nothing to fix the problem.

Terrible terrible service. Asked about the difference between inner tube brands and the sales person was short and curt. He told me my best bet would be to replace my tires. I asked to see some bike tires and mentioned that I was unsure about whether to purchase one. He responds with, "Are you sure you want to buy a tire because I don't want to waste my time showing you tires." Incredulous, I responded with, "REally?" His reply, "Yes, there's a whole store of people here. I don't have time to waste. We are busy busy busy."

I had spoken to him for literally one minute, and out of no where he gives me this. I was originally planning on going to Broadway Bicycle because of a friend of mine recommended them over Cambridge Bicycle. Her thought was Cambridge Bicycle was a bit of a bike hipster scene and the customer service was always poor. Now I know I should have gone to Broadway Bicycle.

This is a good shop, and you can usually find what you need, but their selection isn't great. The store itself is somewhat small, but there's usually a decent selection of bikes to be bought. Their selection of accessories could be bigger, and even though I like to support local businesses I sometimes leave the bike shop feeling unsatisfied by their offerings.

this bicycle shop is a very good place to have your bike repaired. they have a huge collection of high quality bikes. their staff are very technically sound and are very helpful. their prices that they charge are pretty good considering the work that they do. they are a nice local company so i like going there.

This neat bike outlet located close to MIT provides cheap and well done bike fix ups as well as sales of used and new bikes ranging from dinky 100 dollar bikes to high tech racing bakes that climb into the thousands.

Cambridge Bicycle is conveniently located between MIT and Central square but the bikes and bike accessories there are more expensive than they should be. The customer service also has not been good the few times I went there. I would suggest going to Broadway Bicycle School which is also kind of close.

PROS: convenient location, have good selection
CONS: expensive

Cambridge Bicycle has very high quality bikes, however the price is also very high. They sell all of the bicycling accessories you could possibly need, but those are also a bit overpriced. They also sell several types of bike locks that can be easily opened, so beware of those.
