My sweetheart and I decided to go out for a nice late lunch/early dinner for Valentines day. After strolling the streets of North Hampton looking for a nice place we settled on the Eastside Grill. I had high hopes when we first walked in, but left extremly dissapointed and wishing I had sent back my meal, and walked out! We were greeted pleasantly and seated right away. The seating was a bit too crowded and privacy was not to be had. This was a dissapointment. the place was very clean, including the lady's room. Our waitress was very pleasant and the wait for our food was reasonable. The portabella app. was good. Needless to say other than being dissapointed with the crowded seating arrangements we had thus far had a nice experience. Then we were EXTREMLY dissapointed. The main meal was a total let down! The steak was cooked to the correct doneness but was bland with no seasoning, the sauce was also bland. I must tell you the biggest dissapointment was ... all of this came on top of a cool, not hot, mound of... are you ready? Weak no flavor added INSTANT potato!!! I was so insulted and dissappointed I wish I had sent back my meal and left!!! How can you even find an excuse to have instant potato in your restaraunt, let alone serve them!? I have had better experiences with potato in my lunch room in elementary school. P.S. My steak was to have gorganzla on top and none was to be found. I am angry with the Eastside Grill for spoiling my valentines day!, and I am angry that I did not send it back, and walk out!!!

Eastside Grill has long been my favorite restaurant, and even though the place recently changed hands, the food quality has not declined. I've tried nearly every item on the menu over the years, and have never been disappointed. The menu is a mix of cajun cuisine, along with modern American specialities. My most recent meal there, i had the rack of lamb with mission fig sauce. It's easy to screw up lamb, but this was done to perfection. Even my husband, who does not care for lamb, tried a bit of it and was very impressed. Entrees range from $14 - $22. Cheaper than Ruth's Chris, and way better. Get the gorgonzola garlic bread for your appetizer - it's one of the best things on the menu, you won't be disappointed!

Four of us dined at ESG on 11/9/08 and only one of us had an acceptable meal. For appetizers we ordered the Seared Tuna with Wontons and Flash Fried Spicy Calamari only to have our server return and state they do not serve the Tuna on Sundays. We substituted this dish for the Portobello Mushroom Crostini. The calamari was done perfectly but had no hint of any spice and the jalapeno-lime aioli that came with the dish was tasteless. The mushrooms were not very warm, but the gorgonzola sauce that toped the dish was very good.

For entrees, the Eastside Sirloin was overcooked and was sent back, unfortunately the replacement was so tough it dulled the steak knife. The Blackened Tenderloin Tips and Scallops faired no better. Very small tips that were overdone and tough and the scallops suffered the same fate to a lesser degree. The Crab Cakes with Crunchy Slaw was acceptable but not noteworthy. The best meal of the night was the Sesame Scallops with Lobster and Sake which was done perfectly and the sauce was wonderful.

Having dined at ESG many times over the years, I can no longer recommend this restaurant due to their inconsistency. The restaurant was sold a few months ago, but the new owner has maintained the same staff and cooks so why the steep decline?

Our dinning experience here was not great. The food was wonderful! The service was the worst. It took so long to get our food..Not only that but it was crowded and the waiters were busy so there was no personal service. No drinks refilled, took a really long time to get our check. I would only recommend this restaurant one with no kids and two if you don't mind sitting for a long time.

Love Eastside. One of my favorite places to eat. Love their specials but normally I get the blackened tips and scallops. YUM. The service is always great. The bar area is very small but cozy. The prices are good, most meals are under $20.00 . Worth the ride to Northampton.

We love to go to the Eastside Grill. The wait may be long but the food is well worth the wait. I suggest getting their early. There is usually less of a wait.

I used to go to Eastside Grill all the time. After a few bad experiences I have been turned off from the whole place. I have not been back since. Maybe when the menu changes and they have more of a selection will I then go back.

Great food!! We have always had a good meal here. The steak is delicious. Saturday nights are very crowded and you will wait. If you go during the week, you do not need to wait. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Restaurant has been around for many years. The food is always delicious and innovative. The gorgonzola salad dressing is the best. Great atmosphere and always a wait which is a good sign for great food

Wonderful food. Friendly and casual, but prompt and attentive service. Astonishing variety of American and non-traditional meals. A couple of very good-looking vegetarian specials. Very sophisticated offerings and presentations, and usually between $14-18, quite reasonable for what you get. One of my 10 favorite places anywhere. Prime time can be very crowded.

Pros: Food, service, atmosphere

Cons: About the ONLY thing is the crowds at prime time, but that's to be expected.
