I can confirm the uncomfortable practice of them refusing to allow you to be in the room while your pet receives vaccinations. Even when I requested to be in the room, the assistant left the room and returned with the doctor, who then smooth-talked me into allowing my pet to be taken to the back without me. I almost immediately felt as though they were scamming me and saving the vaccines while charging me anyway. Even when we got home my pet was not acting sore or tired as she did when they gave her the first vaccine in front of me.... I was livid! I just transferred my records today. They also are very expensive for spay surgery. They quoted me at $700 for a small dog. I am getting the same procedure done for $300. Finally, even though the building has a pretty pink renovated exterior, the interior is drab and dreary and sort of 1970's looking.This place just has a weird vibe. I am seriously worried that my animal is not vaccinated and would never give them another cent of my money.

I have 30 years of experience raising healthy cats and dogs, and after my vet retired I went to the Saugus Animal Hospital. I wish I never walked in their doors. The first red flag was that they don't allow you to be present while your pet is getting weighed, receiving inoculations, having blood tests, or really anything!. They failed to diagnose a serious, but prevalent disease in one of my pets and if you dare question anything they recommend they will and DO retaliate, Also, despite the reason for your visit , i.e., illness, accident, etc., they will push and "sell" you a bunch of products you DO NOT need! I cannot give details, because I wish to remain anonymous, but save yourself future heartache and look elsewhere! I wish I could give them 0 stars.

We had an urgent medical crisis with our beloved Himalayan cat, Sylvia. Unfortunately due to the extent of her condition, she could not have been saved.
We ended up having to euthanize her but from the moment we arrived at the hospital to the time we left, the entire staff went out of there way to comfort us during this difficult situation.
We have made Saugus Animal Hospital our #1 Vet for our other pets.

I recently had to go there because my vet couldn't see me for an urgent problem. They were able to fit me in that day, I was told there may be a wait due to being fit in but someone from the staff checked my cat right away to make sure she was ok and could wait for the doctor. In no time she was being seen by the doctor and her problem was diagnosed and treatment started right away. The entire staff seemed to be involved with everything going on and were very knowledgeable and helpful I will definitely be keeping Saugus Animal Hospital as my regular vet.

I liked this animal hospital the best because they offer all day saturday pet appointments. They are the best in there field of pet care. They specialise in treating the whole pet not just the injury or symptom. They keep excellent computer files for easy pet accessability.
