I've gone to the shop a few times and each time and never had much luck finding anything I would bother to purchase. Also the owner is not friendly at all, which is reason #1 I won't give a store my business. I like to support small businesses as much as I can, but I won't support a place with bad customer service, period.

This used to be a great little spot to find quality, gently used clothing at (appropriate) bargain prices. I'm not quite sure what happened, but the last few times I've stopped in there, I've found it totally overcrowded, the quality low and the prices RIDICULOUSLY high. I have a sense that perhaps they've forgotten they are selling USED clothing! Many of the prices are the exact same as what you'd pay new. I found a couple of items tagged with prices considerably higher than new. As an example - they have a cute little Mini Boden fleece lined jacket for sale now. You can tell it's not new - the fleece lining has some pilling, there is some wear around the sleeves, etc. (=exactly what you'd expect with buying a used item). The price on this jacket is $66.00!! I came home and ordered the EXACT same jacket - NEW from Boden, delivered to my door for $36.80. Fair quality L.L. Beat jackets are $45.00! I will never set foot in this store again - it's highway robbery! I'd rather pay retail!

I agree consigning is not worth the trouble. They do give you a printout of what sold and what is left. It is up to you to go find your items that have not sold. I have spent hours combing thru the store and can not find my items. Sometimes I think the items have sold, but it does not get recorded as sold. Also if the tag gets accidently pulled off your item, they have no way to track it to you, so it is your loss. I have also had them admit items have sold that are listed as unsold but at a lower price than it states on my slip. I like Savers in N.H.

Ewww...It's a smelly closet with too much junk that's over priced!

I think they think Circo is a designer label.

Also shopped other places. Kid to Kid, better, but still disorganizes. Cutie P in Leo, better. the best place I have found is Buttons and Bows in Acton. Small, but GREAT selection and so does not feel like consignment. I thought I had gone into a boutique the first time.

After going to several consignment shops from Acton, Nashua, Amherst, NH and Fitchburg I found the store small but well organized but prices were too high compared to other shops. I find it interesting people are complaining about the amount they made on their clothing. They need to understand the cost of rent, utilities, employees, insurance, advertising and equipment to run a business is not cheap and someone has to pay for their work. I also understand items sell for more in this location but would chose to go elsewhere to find lower prices. By the way many of these items are name brand items not Walmart cheap clothing so you can't compare the cost to Walmart's poor quality items.

I have to say that I think this store is great! After reading many of the comments, I would assume that many of the "consigners" dont read their contract thoroughy. This store is no different than most other childrens consignment store. Because it is a small store, and in a high priced town, not to mention a very convenient location, of course they may charge 60% to consign. If people dont like that percentage, then dont sign the contract and then write negative reviews about it - there are so many other options - yard sales,, other childrens consignment shops, want ad, ebay, or better yet, donate it to others who cant afford to buy anything. Lets face it - your not going to get "big bucks" for used childrens items and they are doing all of the work for you. You just drop your things off. People need to stop being so snobby and self centered. As someone who cant afford to buy new things all of the time, this is a great place and I am greatful that it exists... I do, and will continue to, highly recommend this store. Sincerely, J.C. Nashua NH.

Noah's Ark is a nice, friendly consignment store. I've shopped and consigned with them for years. They are upfront with how their consignment process works. They set their prices unless you have a specific dollar amount in mind and discuss it with them. They clearly tell the consignor that items remaining after the consignment period are the customer's responsibility to reclaim. That is a typical consignment policy from what I've experienced with other stores. At the end of a consignment period I've received all my checks with no problem. It would be nice to also get a print out of what items sold and for what price though.Overall, it is an easy way to get some cash back for my children's clothing and a fun place to shop at for bargains.

I did business with them and only shopped when they had sales. As I agree I could just go to Walmart and pay the same and have it be new. Also, I consigned and had to call the owner to the point of almost hounding and I finally saw a small check to my dismay. My items were from pottery barn. Thank God for Craigslist. She isn't very trustworthy.

It's fine shopping here, but consigning is not worth the trouble. Nothing is explained and you are left confused. They won't contact you when they sell your stuff and if you don't go or call about receiving a check for what was sold, they will NOT contact you! And if you don't pick up your stuff that didn't sell by a specific date, it becomes their property. If you consign here, make sure you ask many questions and make sure you read the fine print!!! Beware!

Noah's Ark is a mom-and-pop oasis in an increasingly more impersonal world. I have been shopping here for years, and have always found the staff to be warm and helpful, to the point of remembering those items I might be interested in and pointing them out to me. I find the management to be accomodating, and always willing to "make good" if a discrepancy arises. Often hampered by space concerns, they nonetheless do their best to turn things over as quickly as possible, and to price items to ensure the best outcome for the consignor. No business is without hiccups, and Noah's Ark is no exception; I have found again and again, however, that it is the personal touch that redeems. Thumbs up, Noah's Ark!

I spoke to Noahs Ark and they state that it is not their policy to contact consignors after a consignment period has ended - it's up to you to contact them and get your check. I guess it's in the contract somewhere that it's your responsibility to follow up with them.

My complaints are as follows:
1. They already take 60% which is a very high margin.
2. You have no way of knowing what they are going to sell your items for, unless you specifically talk to them about it when you drop stuff off. It would be nice if they sent a price list to you *before* items are sold, so you know what to expect. Otherwise, you are just taking their word for how much items were sold for.
3. On top of the 60%, they also take another $1 for each item over $10. They say this is to cover the cost of their new computerized system. One would think that using computers would *save* them time and money, and that they would pass these savings along to their customers.

Similar to prior reviewer, I consigned a number of relatively high value items with Noah's Ark...my first time ever as a consigner...I thought in this type of business the owners would have to operate on trust so I was very trusting...also got zero follow-up from them with a statement of what I had consigned, no follow-up on payment and it's been well after their 90 day period.

I would not consign or shop there again.

I was told that if I dropped off clothing - that in a week I would receive a call telling me how much they would give me for the items they wanted to keep and would return the unwanted items to me in my bin. That was 5 weeks ago. After 3 phone calls and still no word on the $$ - it turns out that they kept everything -- and are currently selling my items yet have not even asked me if any $$ amount was okay - much less even cut a check. They will not return my phone calls . They basically stole the clothes from me. I am now trying to figure out what I can do ....

PROS: NONE
CONS: BAD BUSINESS - YOU ARE PURCHASING STOLEN ITEMS

Noah's Ark consignment shop is a great place to find name brand children's clothes for less money. They also have semi used baby supplies and toys. It is a very small store so there isn't much room. It doesn't really accomodate large strollers.

This is a very small store. It is cramped and filled to the brim with clothing and equipment/toys. I thought the pricing was a bit high for used children's clothing. It is still fun to poke around hoping to find a bargain.
