Wonderful place, caring people

by Anonymous

I bring my three cats to Dr. Johnson at this location (or Dr. Barrow if Dr. Johnson isn't available). I am very particular about how vets treat my cats, particularly since they can be very skittish toward strangers. These two doctors, and all of the vet techs and administrative staff, are really very nice and caring. I'm going through dealing with a cat with deteriorating health, and they've been so understanding. I've even been able to email them with my questions rather than leave long messages for the doc, and they get right back to me when they can.

I'd highly recommend this practice to others!

Couldn't ask for better service

by carolyn R.

I have been taking my Beagle puppy to MAH since we got her in November 2007. The staff there could not have been more helpful and compassionate and understanding. The prices are decent and they will work with you to arrange payment if you can't pay up front. They truly care about the welfare of all the animals they treat. We usually see Dr. Lafaver who is awesome and Dr. Barrow and Dr. Johnson are excellent as well. When we had our dog Betty spayed last week, they called right when they said they would to let us know how she was doing in even called a few days later to see how she was healing.

I would definitely reccommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful vet on the south shore. I drive there from Rockland because even though there are vets closer to me I know they will take good care of my animals.

Dying pet, no compassion

by John D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,889

I went in here 4 years ago late at night with my 8 year old St. Bernard, who had been ill. I had never dealt with these people before but they were open. I was told starkly and with no compassion that she had cancer and would die, and that I should put her down. This dog was part of my family. I made a few phone calls (outside, on my cell phone; they wouldn't let me use their phone) and decided to leave her there. When I told the tech that I wanted to spend some time with the dog, she looked at me like I was an IDIOT, and stood there the whole time. Finally I just left and they led my dog away. No one said "I'm so sorry"==they just wanted to make sure they got paid. UGH.
