This location is such a disappointment. The workout machine room still does not house enough machines to accommodate the number of members. Rates went up in December and I'm going to cancel my membership in a month because the location

I am not currently a member, but I have been in the past. I always liked this YMCA. I like to keep to myself, and that was never a problem here, yet I know if I needed assistance, it was there. I should really get back to this place.

We were in the market for a new gym and after visiting most of the major south shore gyms we decided on this one. First it is affordable and child care is FREE to members as they work out! That's a huge savings on top of the reasonable membership. They also have an indoor and an outdoor pool and lots of swimming lessons and other kids classes to choose, from karate to tee ball to teen ropes course.

The gym itself isn't fancy. Plenty of cardio, nautilus systems and free weights. Aerobics, yoga, pilates, lap swimming, indoor bball, etc. White concrete walls and a no-nonsense locker room. But they do have a steam and jacuzzi and even a family locker room for everyone to change together. A good value and good gym!

PROS: Pools, lots of classes, basketball, free babysitting!
CONS: Drab locker rooms, the occasional wait for a treadmill at peak
