Pajers grinders are by all means the biggest bang for a buck. A whole or large grinder is more than most people can eat. Not only are the grinders great but the premade meals can free up time when the kids are keeping you in to many directions. I frequent the market because the prices are great as well as the food and the people are very helpful.
I had been going to Richard's sandwhich shop by the Big E
not anymore ! My friends and I made the mistake of ordering a large pastrami and a large Italian grinder they were so huge I thought it was a joke or something. Best tasting grinder I ever had and have been back since.
By the way I ate the whole thing ! 99% of people and I know some really big eaters cannot finish any of the large grinders.
Quality is first rate you can't go wrong. Kap
I graduated H.S. 25 years ago and have not been back since that time. If the Grinders are anything like they were then, it's like a piece of heaven! A whole sub came on a whole loaf of Italian bread, and would have a minimum of 25 slices of meat with at least 10 slices of cheese on them. When I visit this fall, I can't wait for my husband to try one of their grinders. I have told him about them, but I think that he thinks that I am exaggerating....which all of us know that I am NOT!!
Been going there since 1984, there grinders cant be beat!!, subway will sell you a hot dog bun compared to there's!There meats are real cheap...where can you get .99lb Corando hams or $2.99lb turkey....nowhere!!Best secret is there homemade vegetable soup....it will make you live as long as grandma at the checkout
It was a surprise the first time I asked for a large grinder. I got it on a loaf of bread, full of good, fresh meat-enough for at least two meals. Needless to say, it was the last time I ordered a large unless I had someone to share it with me. The atmosphere is like an old time deli. Good prices.
I'll agree with the others who raved about the food (especially those giant grinders!
The only objection I have here is to the parking situation. The store is located on a very busy intersection and at certain times of the day, it's very scary backing out of the parking area. (Yep, I drive like a GIRL!) I'd love to see them move to better location in the same area.
Did someone say Grinder? This place is actually a deli and store but in my eyes it is a fine grinder shop. They pick the finest bread for the roll and fill it (yes fill it) with choice meats and condiments. You need visit this place to sample the fine quality sandwich which they will make just the way you want it.
Where ever I work I love to follow the local DPW trucks to find the best lunch spots. In Agawam they always end up at Pajer's. But this is more than just a great place to get hugh grinders it is also a Italian superette with imported olive and Ferrara torrone stacked high on the floor. It reminds me of the grand mothers store back in Little Italy NYC.
