I took my dog in to be groomed today. When I dropped her off, I explained to the groomer that I wanted her to keep as much hair as possible and to shave her tear stains away. When I picked her up, she was COMPLETELY shaved but around her

I think this place is GREAT !! I like the salt water tanks and you can't find a place where the folks in the store try to help you out like these folks do. They helped me out with my tanks and with my pet dog, Thanks so much. I read the reviews and I think its the PETA folks at it again. Don't fall for it folks. Ive been a steady customer at the Hanover and Plymouth store for years. If you want to really need help this is your stop.

WHY WHY is this place still open?? I brought my daughter in thinking it would be fun for her to see the fish etc, The first thing I see is a disgusting dirty slimey fish tank under the register. As well as little puppies in tiny cages. For outrageous prices. Im amazed anyone would work or buy anything from this place. And shame on the owner for supporting puppy mills, the girl at the register stated they have puppies SHIPPED to them from Arizona. Really? A breeder sticks a puppy in a box to be mailed to Mass to sit in a tiny cage to be sold to someone for huge dollars. How traumatizing and cruel. I will never step foot in this store again.

This place needs to be shut down. And i'm not just saying this because its a pet store, or that i have heard of awful stories. I have been one of the many to experience heartache due to buying a PUPPY MILL dog. my boyfriends parents bought Tina, a rat terrier, in 2008. From the beginning she was sickly, with random spurts of vomitting. For the next 5 years, Tina become more ill. She had multiple gastro problems. First an Ulcer, then IBD, was in constant pain (especially after she ate...you could see her stomach tense up, her tail go down, and start shaking.) We went through every type of diet possible for her. The only thing we had somewhat of a control was her vomiting with diet and medication. She was also on multiple medications to try to ease her conditions. NOTHING seemed to help her. April 2013 is when she took a turn for the worst and had to let her go. she was only 5 years old. I took a look at her original puppy papers which listed her breeder. Did some research through the USDA, and in fact, this breeder was a puppy mill (of course, out of state, even though they claim to get their puppies out of state because MA isnt "regulated") NOW i wonder where they get their puppies? They wont tell you unless you buy a puppy. They now have a binder customers can look through from their "trip to visit their breeders" because people were asking questions. Inside was a written statement about how amazing the breeders were and that they dont give out information because of extreme animal activists lol. They also put a few pictures of a couple of momma dogs and newborn puppies, then FAR AWAY pictures of their houses. Nothing else. I am continuing my research to shut these people down.

Totally took advantage of m. I now have a fish after saving him from my place of employment after the power outage. Whent to the blid on of any knowledge of what it was going to take to keep my new pet safe. Asked for a starter kit tank and was sold a 10 gal starter kit. For 106.00. Ask him to be sure I had everything I would need. Didnt have bulbs for hood components in pack are cheep and most of it broke or faild with in a week. Whent to petco to find takes with stands 3 times thw size with much better components and start up kits for 1/2 the price. Feel like I got screwed well cuz I did. Called to compain and talked to manager got a sorry thats just what I have to sell it for. Bullsh^t . If you inflation is 50% this set up should be marked around 65-70 hell I can find the same online shipped for 30 and im only buying one. So you marked up 100% and screwed me and your animals should be put down with the way you treat them they would be better off. REPEAT CUSTOMERS IS HOW YOU GROW A Business not by scrwing people as they walk in the door.

I always thought that fin fur & feather was a good pet store. I have gotten plenty of hamsters and guinea pigs from the one that was in quincy over the years, and they all lived long and happy lives with no health problems. I also bought a dog there about 10 years ago, a purebred jack russel terrier that is healthy as can be and still going strong. He never seemed to be a puppy mill victim, always friendly, healthy, and happy. No scars, no comments about puppy mills from our vet. I actually went to the location in quincy yesterday to look around at some supplies, and was surprised to find them closed. I think fin fur & feather is a relatively good pet store, and i am a Captive Wildlife Care & Education major at Unity College in Maine, I am studying the proper care of animals and regulations about cage/enclosure size, and fin fur & feather is at least meeting the minimum requirements. Sometimes small pet shops like that have financial problems trying to adequately take care of the animals, and lack of space in the shop to give each individual animal the largest cage possible. I think whoever wants to check out fin fur & feather, go ahead and make your own opinion. Many people say that all dogs in pet stores are puppy mill dogs, but that is just not true. Humane breeders cant always find individuals to take all their puppies sometimes, and selling to pet stores are quick cash. Most puppies at pet stores dont stay in the store very long, the breeders know this, and that is why some feel comfortable bringing their puppies to pet stores.

there is no way these puppies are not from puppy mills. No reputable breeder would send there puppies to a pet store. they find homes for the pups themselves. The place is so dirty always dead fish in the tanks. poop all over the puppies cages and there laying in it.

Buyers beware! we sued & won case against these people for selling us a sickly pup. The pup ended costing us 3 times the price of the pup in medical bills alone in the first month- there were so many lies told to us that we could not let them get away with it.
PLEASE save yourself the pain & agony of dealing with these horrid people and the poor sick animals that can not only drain your emotions but your wallet too. I have seen many others testify that they should be shut down for the dealings they do!

My mother and father wanted to purchase a cat from them a few days ago. My mother had called the shop and they said they had a kitten available and that she could come in that day, fill out the paperwork, and have the cat within two days. My parents both drove from Quincy, to Hanover, only to be told that they sold the cat to someone else! Naturally, my parents were very upset.

Why did Fin Fur & Feather not put the kitten on hold for us? Why tell us to come into the store, only to sell the cat within a few hours, knowing full well that we were interested in buying the cat? Why have us waste time and gas money and get excited about our new pet, over nothing?

The answer : Fast money.

Judging by the bad reviews Fin Fur & Feather has received on this site, and their obviously terrible business practices, I am glad that my parents did not get the cat from here.

They ended up getting a friendly and healthy cat from a nearby PetSmart adoption center. The staff there was helpful, supplied good paperwork into the history of our new pet, and said that they always place holds on pets to customers who have expressed interest in the animal. They do not sell the pet to another patron, until the original interested customer has informed them that they no longer want to purchase the pet.

THAT is good business practice.

Fin Fur & Feather clearly are out to make a fast dollar, but I assure you, they will never receive business from me, or my family, ever again. I suggest you avoid them as well.

I bought a Pomeranian from the Quincy Fin, Fur, and Feather in 1999. I was told he wasn't a puppy mill puppy and they didn't deal with puppy mills. Well, I took him to the vet for a check up shortly after purchase, and they noticed a little scar on his foot. I had seen the patch of paw with no fur the vet was talking about, but I had thought it was just a little bald spot. The vet told me that kind of scar is not uncommon in puppy mill puppies because of the small cages. The vet also told me that my puppy 100% came from a puppy mill. First, my vet recognized the name of the vet on my puppy's 'health certificate' and secondly he could tell by the vaccinations my puppy had ( and what he didn't have) that he was a puppy mill puppy. My Pom only lived to be 9, which is not that old for this breed - - also most likely due to his being a puppy mill puppy. Do not be fooled by these people. I was given a song and dance about how my dog had been home raised ...............

I beg to differ with anyone who claims these puppies are not puppy mill puppies. Someone here said they're from local breeders - - no, they're not. The majority of them come from Missouri - how do I know this? By asking to see the AKC papers on a couple of puppies I was interested in. Any reputable breeder would not be shipping puppies all the way from Missouri. Also, guess which state leads the country in puppy mills? Yup, Missouri. I asked the person who was helping me why the puppies were from Missouri, if they weren't puppy mill puppies, and she didn't have an answer......

I have been taking my long haired cats to Nonie at Fin, Fur, Feather for over 3 yrs. She is wonderful, pleasant and loves the animals. My cat knows he is going to the groomer when I get the cage out, and he no longer frets. He knows Nonie will be gentle and loving. She is the best and I have been getting my Persians groomed for over 18 yrs. We love FIn, Fur & Feather.

I bought a bunny about a week ago from Fin Fur and Feather for my daughter. As soon as I brought the bunny home and set her up in her cage, I noticed some blood in her poop. I took the rabbit to the vet the next day and my vet told me that my rabbit had a very bad cold at the pet store that probably has been going on for weeks.

The vet bill cost me $250 and the pet store will not pay for it! They sold me a sick rabbit!

I can only imagine how their other pets are taken care of in that store.

I love to go to this shop, even before you get in the door, you are greeted by various animals in the front window. They seem to change all the time and are a great way to spend a few moments window shopping. But, don't miss the oportunity to go in and speak with the friendly and knowledgable persons who work there.

But, don't miss the oportunity to go in and speak with the friendly and knowledgable persons who work there.

.

I have been a patron of Fin Fur and Feathers for years. It's a smallish pet shop but still has plenty of supplies. Thier pets always appear clean and healthy, food and water always provided. The staff are always friendly and helpful. If they don't have it they will tell you where to get it!!
