Cinderella Carriage Co

I have to agree with the person who was not happy with Cinderella's carriage. I have taken my car there on two occassions and both times they have come up with over $1000 worth of "necessary" repairs. The second time, I passed on everything but the simple thing I had taken it in for (despite being told the $800 worth of extras required immediate attention). Two years later I still have had no problem with any of the "extras". So botton line is if there is a specific Volvo issue its a good alternative to the Volvo dealer. But it's overpriced and they are the classic case of a mechanic making up extra repairs to those with little knowledge of cars

I have been taking my '90 240 DL wagon to Cinderella since I got it in 2001. I have had them do diagnostics and they have been very helpful and honest about letting me know what work had to be done and what could wait. I have never broken down in this car and always feel very safe. The customer service is excellent. My experience with them has always been very good and was a factor in choosing to buy another used Volvo.

We have been taking or Volvos to Cinderella for years.
In fact, we had an '88 that they had tended without any problem for years. In 2002 we stopped using it, and it sat in the driveway as our extra car until 2005 when we needed it. In order to get an inspection sticker, our son-in-law took it into a local mechanic with whom he had good experience and who advised him that it needed a significant repair. Having had good experience with Cinderella, we took the car there. Cinderella found a lot of problems. They could have made a LOT of money fixing the thing. Instead, they urged us to trade it in and get either a new car or a used one. They suggested a Volvo used-car dealer where we got a great deal!

I was looking for an alternative to the dealer. Cinderella charges $105 per hour for repair and they invent things that need repair. A simple oil change turned into a $300 bill as the "found" thing wrong! They did not call to get prior approval to make the repairs that were not necessary in my case. As much as I hate the dealer I would never g0 back to Cinderella.

If you have a foreign car, or like me, a volvo, this is the place in Boston to take it. I took my 850 model here whenever something went wrong with it while I was living in the greater boston area. The mechanics are friendly and helpful and believe in doing preventative maintainence so you do not end up having a problem down the road (no pun intended) that could have been prevented.

Cinderella Carriage is a long standing Volvo garage in Cambridge. It is infact the only place that specializes in Volvos in Cambridge. Their work is very reliable and they are very knowledgable on this Swedish made vehicle. My family has always brought our Volvo here and we have had a great experience.
