Reviews for Anchovies

Ratings_icons Anchovies is not a bad little pub

john c. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,990

Not a bad little hang out or pub. It's a little dark inside but I didn't mind the atmosphere at all. They give you a lot of food/meat when you order a sandwich so it's likely that it could be another meal. Good place for the money.

Ratings_icons Anchovies is a true neighborhood bar

Anchovies has great prices for the quantity of food and type of service. The sandwiches are hefty and filling and it's a great place if you are looking for true pub style food. They also have take out.

Ratings_icons Fun hang out, decent prices

Amber K. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 862

Anchovies is a very small place with a dark pub atmosphere inside. The food is pretty good, although I've heard rave reviews from others, and is a fun hang out in the evenings. The calzones are absolutely gigantic, I would definitely recommend sharing. The prices are very reasonable considering what you get. I feel that the restaurants on Columbus are generally very good but don't have the lower South End high prices.

Ratings_icons Great local place

The South End is reknown for its tony, high-end restaurants but Anchovies is a good reminder that good food and a good night out don't require large bills. More than anything, it's a great place to have a drink or two with friends. The menu isn't necessarily innovative, typical fare here such as fried mozzarella, mussels, and garlic bread. The eggplant parmigiana and the pasta with garlic and olive oil are standouts. Locals love it so expect a wait for a table.
