We try and visit monthly. As mentioned by the others, the salsa is good. Slightly spicy but not too herby.
The drinks are great. The food is very good, including the more traditional dinner plates. The fajitas are fantastic, that's a safe bet anytime.
One significant note is that La Paloma strives to be a little more traditional Mexican fare. They don't veer too much into Tex-Mex, fusion, Mexican gourmet, or Spanish cuisine... they strictly shoot for high quality traditional Mexican meals at reasonable prices.
It's worth a short drive. Always good for a nice and fun night out.

We go to this place every week. Food is authentic and very good. Drinks are large and salsa is spicy. Fair prices, good service, a fun place to hang out with freinds

This Mexican Restaurant is so authentic. You will love all the flavors. There tends to be a wait to get in but it is well worth it. Their salsa is so good. Make sure you order some to bring home so you can enjoy it all week.

This is the best, most authentic Mexican food around. We've been here several times and are always impressed by the delicious, fresh meals that we've been served. We've tried fajitas, burritos, chimichangas, paella, and enchiladas and all have been delicious. My favorite dish is the Mexican omelet.
There is often a wait on weekends, but it goes quick and you can enjoy a delicious margarita while you wait.

OUTSTANDING QUALITY FOOD! Reasonabley priced, great service. Homade salsa that is amazing! Also great homade chips! I always get a bag or chips and salsa to go home with. This place is world famous!
Pros: location
Cons: no cons
I ordered the chili rellano as an app. and it was excellent. I had two Margaritas and they were very good, small for the price but still tasty. I got enchiladas and asked them to put a mole sauce on instead of the tomatillo that was on the menu. It was the best authentic mole sauce I've had in years. Where others usually fail they succeeded in using just the right amount of Mexican chocolate (what makes it a mole sauce) which didn't make the sauce bitter or over powering like so many other restaurants. I had flan for dessert and it was very good, although I found it odd that they put whip cream on it. Flan is Flan it doesn't need whip cream but as I said it was still very good. I ordered take out to for a Mexican friend that was at home & ill in bed. It was the chicken dish with mango salsa, it was well received and I was told it was delicious, and that's by someone from Mexico.
My waitress was AMAZING, she could answer all of my questions (a true task) about the menu and seemed to really care.
For this picky foodie (me) I can say it is some of the most authentic Mexican food I've had in years and I was very happy. Don't expect Tex-Mex prices, you are going to pay a few dollars more here for the real deal.
Pros: The Food, Service
Cons: More $ than most want to spend on Mexican but I didn't mind
My boyfriend introduced this place to me a couple years ago. Since then its been a frequented by us and our friends. I can say that 99% of the time you will be happy with the service and the food. But get there before 6 on a weekend, the wait really can put a damper on your evening and in the winter, DON't Sit near the door.. there is a windtunnel that will just barrel down on you and your party. Stick to the Original Marghertias the jazzed up colorful ones will never have enough alcohol, and just taste like mix. Also, Carrots in Salsa? A little strange, but its original and mom and popish like it should be. Friendly waitstaff.
Pros: Parking, Service, Food, Music, Tequila
Cons: Cramped, Cold, Kindaaa Cheesy
La Paloma not only has the best mexican I've ever had, but the best staff. My friends and I go in weekly to have our usual waitress, Tammy, and our usual meals and margaritas. I prefer the Pollo Con Salsa Blanca and the others perfer the chimichengas or burritos. We eat as much salsa and refried beans as we can possibly get, and I recommend it to everyone and anyone. And if you get Tammy, tell her that her fan club sent you!
Pros: Service, Cleanliness, Value
Cons: Small place for large lines
I was very impressed by this place. I ordered the combination tacos with a Pink Cadillac Margarita. Yum. I would have to say this is one of the better Mexican restaurants. Better than Acapolcos or Fita and Ritas. The price is great!! I will be going here again.
Pros: Great food and margaritas
Cons: Small
1st things 1st. This is not authentic Mexican and it doesn't claim to be, if you want that then go to Tu Y Yo in Somerville. That being said, it's good Americanized Mexican food. Definitely better than chains like On the Border or Acapulco's. Friendly service, good portions, good margaritas. I would definitely go back.
Pros: Good prices, good food, good service
Cons: It's located in a strip mall
After hearing all the great reviews of La Paloma, I decided to give it a try. What a great place! I've placed take out orders more often than I have dined in, but the service I've experienced was above average. The employees are attentive and very friendly. I almost always order the chicken and cheese chimichanga which is really delicious! Cute restaurant and very affordable!
Pros: service, parking, prices
Avoid this place. The food is average and the price is expensive. A beef buritto here is simply a bbq shredded beef wrap with some french fries for $13! A real mexican burrito is supposed have grilled beef cutlets and slightly burned morsels.
Pros: atmosphere, parking
Cons: food
Okay everyone, I know that Boston lacks in the mexican food department but this restaurant is worth the trip down to Quincy. I really recommend the gorditas and the tamales. Be warned that if you go on a friday or saturday night there is going to be a LONG line - but worth it! Have fun!
Pros: Great gorditas!
I recently moved here from Atlanta and have noticed that Boston does not have very many Mexican resturants. In search for a burrito and margarita, I went to La Poloma and was very disappointed in the drinks and food. The margarita mix is premade and takes like water and the meat in my burrito tasted like barbeque. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Having just moved to the Boston area from Texas, I was thrilled when acquaintences recommended that I try La Paloma, which they called the "best Mexican food in town". Well if La Paloma is the best Mexican food in town, I'm moving back to Texas. The food was awful and nothing near any legitmate Mexican, Tex-Mex, or Cali-Mex food I've ever had. If you have ever enjoyed real Mexican food, please don't go to La Paloma - it can only break your heart.
I am serious when I say that La Paloma is worth the trip out of Boston and into the suburb of Quincy. I have lived many places, and they have THE BEST Mexican food and drinks anywhere. There used to be a second La Paloma in South Weymouth, but sadly they closed it a few years back. Check it out - you will be glad that you did!
This place is AMAZING. If you're looking for the best Mexican food and margaritas--this is the place to check out. Its location--situated between a Wendy's and a Sub Shop in a mini mall--wouldn't normally draw people in. The admosphere is small and seating is a little too close for comfort. BUT, between the delicious appetizers, the Grande margarita (so HUGE, its required that 2 people share it), and the overall menu this place is a must see. Even for the North Shore who have had On the Border. This place is better and cheaper! Their kicking homemade salsa is so yummy they now sell it in your local grocery store. If that's not an excuse to check this place out---I don't know what is! Plan carefully---they are closed on Mondays.
Pros: Value, Margaritas for Two, Food Quality
Cons: Parking, Hours of operation
We lived in Austin, TX for several years and while nothing that I've tried in the Boston area comes close to the Mexican food in Texas, La Paloma is the best of the lot.
We have been going to La Paloma for several years and it is consistently good. The enchiladas and burritos are excellent, especially with their chile sauce. Great food and excellent value. Highly recommended
Pros: Food
Cons: Parking
come early parking is shared by other stores, great food.
I went to this restaurant after reading all the good reviews online, and was quite disappointed, as I usually am with Mexican food in Boston. The food was quite good, but the service is some of the worst that I've ever had. Our server absolutely unattentive, coming to our table only to take our order and deliver the check. They also charge for refills of soda, apparently, which is something I find completely unnecessary in this type of establishment, especially since they didn't tell me that I would be charged for it. In summary, the food is above average, but the service spoiled my experience. If you don't live near or in Quincy, it's probably not worth the drive.
Pros: Good food
Cons: Poor Service, Cramped
My wife and I love this place. The Tacos, enchilladas, chips and salsa are the best I have ever had. They make a fine margarita too!
