4 Stars: Great Food, Atmosphere and Friendly Staff! (by Kittie)

My husband and I decided to check out Equator because we wanted Thai food with a nice atmosphere. We certainly found it here! The place wasn't crowded, seating was large and comfortable, staff was friendly and the food was tasty. I recommend the Chicken Satay and fresh Spring Roll appetizer! We were extremely happy and would return! We took the Orange Line to the Mass. Ave. stop, it was about a 7-10 min. walk to Washington Street on the left. Outdoor seating available too!

1 Stars: Nothing Special (by savinoB2004)

After reading the other reviews here I was anxious to try this restaurant. I was quite disapointed. To start, the appetizers were ok but nothing special, and not very much sauce on the side. The main dish was a dish with chunks of chicken that was overcooked, hard and had an under taste. Call me crazy but thats not my idea of great food. The service was average and nothing beyond the call of duty. Instead of chating with co-workers they might bring extra sauces for my appetizers and ask if I'd like another beer. Overall this restaurant is nothing special.

4 Stars: Great Thai food and atmosphere (by A02115)

Went to this restaurant for a work lunch with about 11 people. They were able to accommodate us well. The place is somewhat small, so it was good that we went at an earlier lunch time. The appetizers were great (scallion pancake, grilled tofu, fried shrimp rolls). Our entrees were large for lunch prices and tasted great. I would suggest the chicken fried rice, vegetables with curry, or the green curry dish. The restaurant claims to be Thai/European cuisine, but the lunch menu was strictly Thai. So, keep this in mind if you are planing on going for lunch and were looking forward to a fusion type meal. In all, the experience was pleasant and service was attentive and friendly. Not too expensive either, lunch for about $10-$15 per person.

5 Stars: Good Spot for A Business Lunch (by Shannon M.)

Washington Street is in the heart of the downtown Boston business district. Equator is a 'hot' spot for a quick business lunch. Don't let the line at the door discourage you. It goes quickly and is worth the wait.

I was just up in boston on vacation with my wife and was on my laptop in our hotel looking for some good thai food. We came across Equator and decided to hop a taxi and give it a try. What a great choice. Cozy, romantic atmosphere, and excellent food. This place is a definate must try for any thai enthusiasts. I will be back in the city in a few months and cannot wait to eat here again. Very friendly staff too.

5 Stars: The Best is always the Best (by handsome8787)

I love the food at Equator. I have been to this place for 2 years and I have never been disappointed..Great food..Great service...Equator is the Best Thai food in Boston..!!! Anyway I am curious one of the review that they put in "Horrible" topic!!!! I think they misunderstood where they have eaten their food and then they wrote the complaination to Equator. Equator does not have Sushi Bar or serve any raw food like Sashimi!!! That reviewer must write apologize to them. Please be aware when you write or post the review.

4 Stars: Great new discovery in the South End! (by boston7)

I went to Equator recently with a group of friends. We are pleasantly surprised by the food, value, and service. I live near the South End and somehow had not been here until now - I'll definitely be back again soon! We all had Thai dishes, which were delicious and served in generous portions. The employees were very friendly and the restaurant is lovely. I would highly recommend paying this place a visit soon!

5 Stars: Don't miss this jewel! (by kimotltd)

Equator, new to lower Washington Street, is a jewel of a restaraunt.

The food is exquisite, without being fussy and it is served with elegance and style. Equator's service is attentive but not ostentatious. There was a charm about it that felt as though we were welcomed friends.

I recommend it highly!
