I am typically not the type of person who writes reviews but I feel I must after recently having the Brazilian Keratin Treatment done!It has changed my life! I have cried over my hair for years, struggling with the dryness and frizziness... not anymore :)! After reading several articals on the treatment I decided to go to Amaci Salon for a consultation with Maria Rivera and was quickly put at ease with her knowlede and her professionalism. I was impressed with the amont of hair classes she attends and her clear passion for doing hair. My hair has never been so easy to manage, the frizz is completely gone! It is shiny and healthy and Im just thrilled with the whole experience. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

I'm looking for a new salon for roots, highlights, & cut. I noticed that the owner answers every unsatisfied customer & tries to resolve it. That says a lot to me.~ I had a horrible experience at James Joseph Salon on Newbury Street. I spent over $200 on a nightmarish experience, "won't bore you" then another $200 to fix their mistakes! James Joseph never had the decency to get back to me. (I immediately sent him a personal letter) no reply! I look forward to trying this salon, & I will definitely be writing a review~ What James Joseph doesn't know, is I have a big mouth & a big venue to voice my mouth. Shame on you James Joseph~Hat's off to the owner of this salon.

I have been getting my hair highlighted and colored all over the world. Once I discovered the talent of Sonya Alexopolous, I looked no further. She is a fantastic stylist with a real talent for color. Sonya could work anywhere she wanted. Amaci Salon is very lucky to have her. I also found Amaci to be a very professional and luxurious salon to go to. They have a wonderful wax and threading service that is very reasonably priced and done by Anna.

I went here with a groupon and got a really good haircut and bikini wax. The staff was very professional and friendly. The receptionist brought me hot tea and everything. I even decided to get highlights while I was there and they look great. I'll definitely be going here regularly. My stylist's name was Amad.

I got a great haircut from the owner Amad. My hair is thin so I have a hard time with it but he cut it to look thicker somehow which I love! He was so nice and did a great job. I also had my eyebrows threaded by Anna while I was there. She was really nice too! I definitely reccomend you try it!

Amad @ Amaci has been my go-to-guy for hair for quite some time now. Each visit far exceeds my expectations. His highlights are excellent, best I've ever had (and I am picky!) His glosses leave hair very smooth and shiny, and do not fade. Love his cuts too. I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone else.

I've also had eyebrow threading with Ana and they came out awesome! She's a pro!

With the arrival of summer I found myself wanting to shed my long locks in favor of the Victoria Beckham look. When I saw a woman with that exact cut I was sold and asked where she got her hair done. Amaci Salon! I made an appointment and went in the next day. Thanks to Amad I now have the most amazing summer ready style - and someone can envy ME!

I have been going to Amaci salon for the past 2 years now and Ana is my girl!! She is extremely nice and easy to talk to. she couldn't have been sweeter. She was gentle and soft-spoken and made me feel always secure. My brows looked amazing afterword and I just wish to commend Ana for her character and for her expertise. I highly recommend threading by Ana. I've never tried waxing before but I trust her very much and I have never walked out of there disappointed, also I have heard that threading is a much more pleasant experience. It actually feels really cool! Check out the Amaci Salon. It's a warm friendly environment with a very talented staff! Thanks again Ana!

I always like to try new things, and one is trying new stylists and haircuts! I went to Amaci for the first time and had Sonya as my stylist. If my stylist has confidence I like to trust him or her with whatever cut they believe is the best for me. Sonya has great confidence and a fantastic attitude. She listened to my concerns and still gave me an amazing haircut that really works for me. I loved going to Amaci. I had a really great time there and would suggest this salon to anyone looking for a good cut - and most importantly, ask for Sonya!

I just started going to Amaci when my excellent stylist, Sonia, moved there. I was impressed with the salon; nice atmosphere, pleasant people, modern decor. Sonia has been doing my hair for a couple of years and I won't go to anyone else -- she's the BEST!

Maria is the BEST hair stylist at Amaci. She is a great girl who is not too chatty and takes time to get to know your hair and style requirements. She has been cutting my ultra curly fuzzy tresses for two years now and never a bad cut. She understands that sometimes curly hair does that triangle thing when the layers are weird and long. She never pushes too much product or coloring. It is short, quick appointment but I am never made to feel rushed. The salon is sleek and modern. Everything is clean and neat (with lots of great mags to read if you have to wait). Amaci as a salon is wonderful (Newbury St service and style without the price) and Maria is the shining gem of the place!

i just recently visited amaci salon and was ecstatic w the service!!!!!! i was seen by a new stylist, sonia @ the salon. And was nothing but pleased by the great customer service i received by the stylist and salon. Sonia gave me great new summer hi-lites to jump start the season. I was nothing but pleased with my highlights and cut and most definetely will see her again!!!!

My girlfriends have been going to Amaci for years and it was only recently that I decided to check it out for myself. After all of the rave reviews that my girlfriends gave of Amad, I was not at all surprised at the great work he did with my hair. Since last year I've recommended him to my male friends, who are also very pleased with his skills. Amad is a fantastic hair stylist and I would recommend him to any guy or girl with any type of hair.

Amad has been my stylist more the last 3 years, his expertise in hair design including colors and highlights and cut are very impressive. I love the work that he does on my hair every single time. He is absolutely the best , but this week I went to buy some product and The attitude from the Receptionist was Terrible, When I try to pay her she try to screw me for the rest of my money , especially in today's economy, I expect nothing but the best, and I received nothing but the worst from her. She is poor and does know how to control herself. Terrible experience overall and she was rude and didn't listen to what I had to say at all. Don't go here...

For some guys, getting a haircut is right up there with going to the doctor or dentist: a necessary inconvenience. You want to look good-who doesn't?--but you don't want it to be a hassle. Amad makes it painless. He's amiable, talented, and gives a guy a terrific, long-lasting cut. From what I read on the site, he and his colleagues are very adept at serving the needs of a variety of constituencies. Let me put in a word for those men who just want an excellent haircut, without the drama and without wasting your time.

I have been going to Amaci's for 3 years now... they have always provided great services for me. I get my hair cut with Maria..she does a great job! I'm sure she cuts all types of hair very well, but I really do like how she handles Asian hair! I also have been going to Ana for brazilian waxes. Brazilian waxes aren't ever pleasant but she makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend checking out Amaci's!

The last time I needed a haircut, I traveled to Denver to have my hair cut by a great friend. I didn't have the time to do that, so I tried Amaci on a recommendation from a friend. Maria listened to me and her experience definitely shows in my cut. It is one of the best I've had. I was extremely happy with it. I also had my eyebrows done by Anna and she gave me an excellent shape. I would definitely go back.

I am a hairdresser so i am extreamly nervous about letting anyone touch my hair. I went to see Amad and He gave me the best cut and color. I had long dark hair and i went for a drastic change..Platnuim Blonde and Short!! i couldnt be more happier with the results. My hair is the perfect length and shade of blonde. I would Highly recommend Amaci Salon to anyone. Go check them out.

If you're a guy and you want to have cool hair girls will like, then go to Amaci. If you want to look like a tool, keep going to that barber shop you go to or supercuts. don't be afraid of the salon, chicks dig it and thus, so worth it. Amad does a great job listening to what you want and then cutting. I am always happy and my girlfriend always loves how the cut turns out. and my girlfriend is smokin hot. I have been going there for about 4 years now and never, ever had an issue. I refuse to go anywhere else.

I moved to Boston 3 years ago, and I've had the same hair stylist the entire time. Recently, he decided to switch careers, and I didn't know what to do. I decided to go to Amaci after reading the positive reviews on this site. Amad gave me an amazing cut and style, I'll never go to anyone else. He has great style and vision, and I'm always getting positive comments about my hair. If you're looking for a great Salon in Boston, with a friendly staff, give Amaci a try. You won't regret it.

I have been to the Amaci Salon for about 4 times and each time was a wonderful treat for myself! I have relatively short hair therefore I only trust Amad with the blades to style it. He makes my hair light and bouncy - I highly recommend this place for people new to Boston looking for a great place to get regular hair cuts.

I recently visited Amaci Salon and had an overall wonderful experience. Maria Rivera was my stylist and immediatly put me at ease with her world of knowledge when it comes to hair. I wanted to go back to my natural color after years of highlighting. Maria colored my hair and matched it exact (I was very impressed) then she put a few lighter pieces around my face to brighten it up. It looks so natural, shiny, and healthy! I am so pleased! I also appreciate the styling and at home maitenence tips she gave me. I will definitly be going back and telling everyone how fabulous the salon is!

I have been going to Amad (salon owner) for the past nine years. He is an absolute genius when it comes to color, and I have never been disappointed with any color or cut. While in college, I searched for a hairdresser that I loved and knew I could trust. When I found Amad, I knew I would stay with him for a very long time. Every experience in the salon is an awesome one, and the staff is constantly trying to make you comfortable and satisfied. I would highly recommend Amaci to anyone looking for a fantastic salon experience, from start to finish.

The fact that I have been going to Amaci Salon for over 2 years should speak for itself. I always get my hair cut by Amad, who is a very professional, skilled hairstylist and a great guy. Each time I leave the salon with a perfect haircut and only pay $30 for a men?s cut - I wouldn't go anywhere else.
His staff greets you with a smile every time and is very welcoming. Given that my schedule changes frequently, they have been very accommodating with my appointments. As such, I do not share one of the previous dissatisfied reviewer?s feelings and feel compelled to write this review. Although I realize that a salon might get busy from time to time, her repetitiously voiced dissatisfaction seems unreasonable in my eyes, especially seeing that Amaci Salon has gone above and beyond in their effort to resolve this matter.
In fact, whenever I make an appointment I usually end up calling a day before or even the day of the appointment to reschedule. Never did they seem upset and were actually always glad to reschedule my appointment to a day that works for me, which I am very thankful for.
I am very glad that I found Amaci Salon. They have been incredibly accommodating in terms of scheduling my appointments, very professional in their customer service and most importantly, I always leave with a great hair cut! Thank you Amad!!!

amad has been my stylist more than 3 years,his expertise in hair design including colors and highlights and cut are very impressive. until now amaci salon continues to provide excellent services. my hair was not very healthy whenever i leave amaci salon my hair is soft, silky, and smooth.amad knows exactly what he is doing and he is an amazing hairstylist.he cuts my hair exactly the way i want it and he does a fabulous job coloring my hair looks natural. the cut is always perfect. he is also sociolizes with his clients, and make sure they are comfortable. i would reccomend amaci salon to anyone who is looking for an extremely gifted hairstylist amad

I have been going to Amaci Salon for the last 3 years and I love it. Amad is the owner of the salon who is a fantastic colorist and stylist. He has an incredible talent with hair and always delivers wonderful results with color and cut. I usually get highlights and a cut every time I go and I feel special each time . My husband loves my hair too !!! The salon has great staff and every one is friendly and professional. You can also park in the garage and they validate your ticket for you which is a great convenience if you are coming out of town.

I have been going to Amaci Salon since moving to Boston in 2007. Maria Rivera is my stylist and I must say she is very talented and i could'nt be happier with my hair. My boyfriend even notices when I get my hair done, complimenting how beautiful it looks every time! I like to go through things in detail and change my look from season to season so I appreciate the time she takes with me from the consultation to the at home maintenence, I never feel rushed with my appointment and thats huge for me. She is passionate about her work and it definitly shows! She great and I recommend the salon to everyone! Thank you for all the great looks Maria, See you soon!

People write such good things about this place...but its not all its cracked up to be. The appointments are placed so close together that the staff literally rushes through your appointment to get to the next customer. Not only were they unprofessional in this manner, but they were rude and didn't listen to what I had to say at all. Don't go here...

Okay, so I had to join CitySearch after reading all of these reviews and then going to Amaci for the first time last week. The salon is gorgeous, it was busy and had great energy. The staff is so nice and really friendly!!
My appointment was with Amad and he was extremely attentive to my questions and ideas. He is very knowledgeable and well versed in hair techniques and color. I let him work with my ideas and cut my hair as he saw fit, and it came out perfectly!!! I feel like I have always had so so haircuts at other salons in Boston and when my haircut was finished, I was psyched!!
I can honestly say, that I was nervous after reading the negative reviews on CitySearch, but after my overall experience there, I can definitely say I am the newest fan and have already scheduled my next appointment with Amad. He truly is amazing!!

I went to Amaci recently, first experience and it wasn't what I expected to to be at all. The stylists constantly seemed in a rush to get through the appointment to get on to the next person. The wait time was long, and then they rushed through my appointment to hurriedly get to the next customer. I called my mom crying about how I just wasted a ton of money on something they rushed through. When I pay for something, especially in today's economy, and especially at a boston hair salon, I expect nothing but the best, and I received nothing but the worst.

There are hundreds of salons to choose from in Boston. I went to this salon because of the reviews on this site; however, I do not know where these reviews come from. I went in my appointment there as a first time client, and they were so incredibly behind. There were a few reviews prior to this one that talked about scheduling errors; however, this was just awful. Waiting beyond a half an hour anywhere, after making an appointment, is unnecessary and uncalled for. The attitude from the owner of the salon, Amad, is poor. He does know how to control himself in stressful situations. Terrible experience overall, and I would not recommend this salon in the least.

I have been going to Amad @ Amaci for years. He does excellent color & highlights and cuts. I wouldn't go anywhere else. In addition, he's a really great guy too. He cares about his clients and his salon and will bend over backwards to make you happy. He really works with you to achieve what you are looking for, but is also honest about his opinions on colors and styles. The salon has a great vibe and I always love the Amaci experience. Thank you Amaci for all the years of unparalleled service.

Amaci Salon said they eliminated my cost for the horrible service after waiting an hour and a half, but just so everyone knows...they did not eliminate the cost. They cut the price, but they still charged me what I get charged at my salon in my hometown. So not only did they provide bad service, but they also lied online to get themselves to look better.

I am a regular client at Amaci, and Amad never ceases to amaze me. After an appointment, I sing his praises for weeks! It is a busy salon, and I love watching other customers walk out after their appointements...because they always look amazing too! He works miracles, and I wouldn't trust my hair with anyone else. He is an excellent colorist, and also gives great dry cuts. His highlights are wonderful, and they seem to grow out very natural and the colors don't fade. For those that aren't interested in highlights, try a shine treatment. I get these treatments with my highlights and they make such a difference and actually last many weeks. I recently got one and everyone is complimenting me on how soft and shiny my hair is! Thank you Amad for always doing such an awesome job, keep up the good work!!!!!!

Went here for the first time the other day and I had a great experience. Curtis gave me the best highlights and the cutest cut I have had at any salon. He was so talented and just so nice in general. Newbury street treatment without the Newbury price. Highly recommend this salon and Curtis in particular!

I recently tried thredding for the first time with Ana at the Amaci Salon in downtown Boston. Ana couldn't have been sweeter. She was gentle and soft-spoken and made me feel secure from the start. I have been going to Amaci for the past 2 years now, and Maria is my girl!! She is extremely nice and easy to talk to. She always makes sure I walk out of the Salon satisfied. I get so many compliments about my hair the next day in the office. whether I am just doing a straight color or have it highlighted I trust her very much and I have never walked out of there disapointed.

I went to Amaci to have my haircut, when i got there everyone was very nice. I was greeted with a glass of wine and lots of smiles. The hairstylest i saw was Mona. She really listened to what i had to say like what i like, dont like,she also took my lifestyle in to consideation. I'm a single mom who needs to get someone else ready in the morning along with myself. I do like to be stylish as well. She told me that i can keep the haircut nice and simple with a edgy color like a cool red or blond. Thoes colors would take to the color of my eyes and skintone. I hate to admit that I am high maintenance with my hair. I have tried many salons and had many disappointing haircuts until I went to Amad at Amaci Salon a few months ago. Amad will take the time to listen to what you want and will work with your hair in the interim to get to that style. He is great at suggesting products that will work with your hair and how to style your hair while at home. If you are looking for an updated look for the new year give Amad a try at Amaci.

For a moderately priced salon this place has it all. The staff is incredibly nice and the salon is extremely clean. Although I have seen great hair done by everyone there..Maria is my girl of choice. If you want a hairdresser that actually listens to what you have to say then she should be your choice as well. Definitely get the gloss treatment too..its unbelieveable!!

This place is really good! You have to be specific with your request, but whether its Amad (the owner) or Brenda, you?ll definitely leave satisfied with the end result. With hair as frizzy as mine, and Boston?s humid weather I was finally relieved to find a salon that will know how to ?deal? with my hair. I never went anywhere else since?
I definitely recommend this place for everyone; the owner is extremely good with cutting, highlighting and coloring hair as well. He?s also extremely attentive to your requests. Especially if you have a big event coming up and you don?t want to risk anything going wrong this is definitely the place to go to!

I went in for a haircut, and the owner Amad has good ideas but fails on execution. I went for something like a bob (short back and goes diagonal to the front), and he did a few things:

1.) center was not the center so I had a lopsided bob going on
2/) from the center, it went diagonal on one side, and it was like a staircase on the other

He blamed my hair, maybe he should've suggested something else if my hair was naturally wavy. A good hair stylist would've known better or he would've just corrected it and that'd be that. He corrected it alright, but I could see he was annoyed with me because of the two issues I pointed out above. Smile was forced and he didn't even end our session with a hope to see you again type. It was more, good riddance, thanks for the cash.

He then tries to sell products to me and tells me that the products he has is the lowest around. Other people get it on the black market. Really.

I went here because I heard about all the raves, but really, a hair stylist that doesn't respect you or your opinion is not worth going to, even if he can cut better than your mom.

I recently paid a visit to Amaci salon because of the reasonable rates on hair extensions. I always wanted them but never thought i would be able to afford it. My new stylist Curtis gave me the hair I always wanted and for the best price of any upscale salon i called or checked out online. Everyone who see's me is totally impressed by the new hair and the new look and cant believe its not real. I find myself in the ladies room showing people how they were applied to their astonishment !!! I highly recommend Curtis if you are interested in trying out his services!
