Amaci Salon

I hate to admit that I am high maintenance with my hair. I have tried many salons and had many disappointing haircuts until I went to Amad at Amaci Salon a few months ago. Amad will take the time to listen to what you want and will work with your hair in the interim to get to that style. He is great at suggesting products that will work with your hair and how to style your hair while at home. If you are looking for an updated look for the new year give Amad a try at Amaci.

My experience at Amaci salon was great, I really had the best hair cut I have had in years the hairdresser who cut my hair Amad seemed so nice and friendly he is great stylist and I really got what I wanted so now I have my own hairstylist that I have been searching for and all the staff are nice and friendly it is simply one of the classist place in Boston.

For a moderately priced salon this place has it all. The staff is incredibly nice and the salon is extremely clean. Although I have seen great hair done by everyone there..Maria is my girl of choice. If you want a hairdresser that actually listens to what you have to say then she should be your choice as well. Definitely get the gloss treatment too..its unbelieveable!!

This place is really good! You have to be specific with your request, but whether its Amad (the owner) or Brenda, you?ll definitely leave satisfied with the end result. With hair as frizzy as mine, and Boston?s humid weather I was finally relieved to find a salon that will know how to ?deal? with my hair. I never went anywhere else since?
I definitely recommend this place for everyone; the owner is extremely good with cutting, highlighting and coloring hair as well. He?s also extremely attentive to your requests. Especially if you have a big event coming up and you don?t want to risk anything going wrong this is definitely the place to go to!

I went in for a haircut, and the owner Amad has good ideas but fails on execution. I went for something like a bob (short back and goes diagonal to the front), and he did a few things:

1.) center was not the center so I had a lopsided bob going on
2/) from the center, it went diagonal on one side, and it was like a staircase on the other

He blamed my hair, maybe he should've suggested something else if my hair was naturally wavy. A good hair stylist would've known better or he would've just corrected it and that'd be that. He corrected it alright, but I could see he was annoyed with me because of the two issues I pointed out above. Smile was forced and he didn't even end our session with a hope to see you again type. It was more, good riddance, thanks for the cash.

He then tries to sell products to me and tells me that the products he has is the lowest around. Other people get it on the black market. Really.

I went here because I heard about all the raves, but really, a hair stylist that doesn't respect you or your opinion is not worth going to, even if he can cut better than your mom.

I recently paid a visit to Amaci salon because of the reasonable rates on hair extensions. I always wanted them but never thought i would be able to afford it. My new stylist Curtis gave me the hair I always wanted and for the best price of any upscale salon i called or checked out online. Everyone who see's me is totally impressed by the new hair and the new look and cant believe its not real. I find myself in the ladies room showing people how they were applied to their astonishment !!! I highly recommend Curtis if you are interested in trying out his services!

I'm usually difficult to please but Amads creativity and skill when it comes to highlights always leaves me with a chic new look and excited for my next appointment. I'm never bored and never unhappy when I walk out the door. Their late hours on the week days make it convenient for me to come in after work especially since the place is usually so busy on the weekends.

I have been a client at Amaci Salon for about 2 years now and absolutly love Maria Rivera! My mom and sisters even go to her now! Over the past 2 years she has really established my trust, I can just tell her to do what she thinks will look best and know my hair will come out looking beautiful. I am a new customer at Amachi Salon also a customer of one of their stylist. Her Name is Mona and I don't think she is a stylist only but an artist as well. She introduced me to salon Amachi and the service and cleanliness nxt to none. I like her approach to her profession because she listens first to what i want then she suggest a hair cut that I have been feeling well about how I look. Highly recomended place and hope you all go and see Mona. P.S. My girlfriend like how she looks cause she Mona is her stylist also.

I have been going to Amaci Salon for about 3 years now and I love the work that the owner Amad does on my hair every single time. He is absolutely the best colorist I have ever been to and I had been to many Newbury Street salons. He has a great personality and his haircuts are just fabulous. I love coming to the salon as I know that I will walk out of there with amazing highlights and a perfect cut . The staff is very friendly and they always make you feel welcomed.

I'm a new client of Amad's at Amaci. I was bored with my look and wanted highlights but I've never dyed my hair before. Amad helped me decide what was right for my hair and how to get the look that I wanted. On top of that he gave the best cut and showed me how to style it. I've never been so happy leaving a salon.

I loved Amaci Salon! I would have given the salon five stars, but unfortunately there was a scheduling mishap. The receptionist had accidently scheduled me during the weekly staff meeting. However, they kindly fit me in for later the same day and gave me a 30% discount. Maria was my stylist and she was fantastic! She gave me a great consultation and offered the best way to cover up the damage in my sun-bleached hair. She was very knowledgeable and not too pushy about selling services or products. I left with a great new color and cut and I will definitely be coming back again!

Amaci salon is the best. I recently moved to Boston from NYC. I tried a lot of the top salons in NYC, and they are nothing in comparison to Amaci.

I went in to see Amad (the owner of Amaci) for highlights. I was so happy with the color that I wanted a cut (despite it being around closing time). He stayed late to give me a great cut/blow dry/flat iron. I am absolutely amazed with the results, I have never been so happy.

I can't stop singing his praises. He is an artist, and a master of his craft. But most importantly, in midst of running a very successful salon, he has not lost sight of what's important. For one, he has a great and genuine energy/vibe to him, and he is a person you will enjoy spending an hour or two with. Secondly, he makes you feel like you are the only client in his salon. His number one priority was making me happy. He does not rush you, and he puts in that extra effort to make sure that you are 100% satisfied and comfortable with your experience at his salon.

Also to note...another stylist named Curtis was working while I was there. His clients walked out looking amazing too.

Book an appointment at Amad, and I promise you that you will come out looking and feeling like a million bucks.

Amaci salon gives great, trendy haircuts. The staff is friendly and personable. I feel like I have been going there for years. They are also very accomodating and flexible with scheduling which is great because of my busy schedule.

I love this salon, I've been a customer for a few months now, and would never let anyone else touch my hair. Amad is the best. Also the only place I could find in Boston that does hair extensions and eye brow threading. Its really awesome, and the whole staff is super nice, and its reall easy to get too. big fan

After years of zig zagging across town to find the right salon, I have finally found it! Amaci Salon in Park Square is conveniently located and offers a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. The owner, Amad, is an artist and a true professional. I have been going to him for almost three years consistently and have never been happier with my hair. Many people stop me in the street asking where I get my color done - and I'm proud to refer them to Amaci. No prima donnas here - just nice people committed to excellence. Great music, not too loud, nice street side location...just a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. I work at a local hotel and have referred many guests to the salon - they have all come back raving and make appointments to coincide with their next trip to Boston. Check it out...you'll be back...

My highlights look very natural and she styled my hair so beautiful, I truly love it! Finally my search is over for a wonderful stylist and salon!

This was my first time at this salon. I went at the recommendation of numerous friends who all raved about it. I had a 25% off coupon. At first, things were going well - I really liked Curtis. The salon was very busy and after a while I started to feel really rushed and put on the back burner. I originally went just for highlights, because I am trying to grow out a bad cut from before. I was convinced to get some correction done to my cut. Well, it looks exactly the same. I think I paid $60 to have 4 hairs cut because the salon was too busy for anyone to finish my cut after I was blowdried. I guess I didn't really care up until that point but then I went to pay and the owner Amad snapped at me and claimed I couldn't use the coupon because I was there on a referal. This is not true, I never spoke to Amad at any point during my visit. He then huffed and walked away, leaving me standing there with my credit card for 10 minutes. I finally sat down and just waited until someone came up to the front. My stylist came to ring me up, charged me some amount that I have no idea how he came up with and walked away. My roommate was also there getting her hair done. She got highlights, lowlights, a gloss and a FULL hair cut and was only charged $1 more than me. Obviously I was upset since I didn't want to pay $168 for half a hair cut and highlights. The look on my face must have been obvious because Amad came over and apologized and refunded $25 of my money but I still felt upset. I had high expectations of the salon since my friends all go there. The plus is that I really do love what Curtis did for my color. Later that night, Amad also called my roommate to tell her that he wanted to apologize to me and that I could come back for free in the future to make up for my experience. I'm not sure if I will take him up on that. I would recommend Curtis' talent but I wouldn't recommend the salon itself. I know that Amad apologized, but I still have a sour taste in my mouth.

I am very impressed with the customer service in this salon. I have been frequenting salons since i was about 13. I recieved a courtesy reminder call regaurding my appointment a day prior. As well while i was waiting for my color to process, a very nice young lady handed me two magazines and a glass of water. I left there with a very psitive impression. I have never been treated so.........nice in a salon i guess. A touch of class.

I am very pleased to refer this salon for anybody who cares about the health and integrity of color treated hair. I had a corrective color with Curtis, very talented young man, and my hair feels and looks healthier than its been in years. I didnt even have to tell him what to do, it was by far the most amazing service I have recieved in a long time!!!

I am so shocked!! I am still getting compliments on my hair and its been almost a week since it was done. I have the thickest curliest hair ever. Getting it straight is like a two hour process, burning blowdryer, and screaming kids...I was referred to Amaci by a co-worker, who recommended Curtis for ethnic, or curly hair. He was so nice and such a great listener, I thought i was gonna break his poor arm, lol, but my hair is fabulous!!!! If only i could get him to do this every day before work .....lol..... Thanks

I have been shopping around for a great eyebrow shape for a long time. I faught with pricey newbury street salons, all the way to Everett on referral disasters!!!! I saw a young woman on the street and i had to stop her... she told me that the lady used thread on her face and brows. Now I had to go check this out... the young lady did my eyebrows and lip with a single piece of thread UNBELIEVABLE !!!! And they look amazing. No more irritating wax or bumps and swelling im sticking to this salon from now on.

I am always amazed at how great my color comes out everytime i go see Amad. He is my hero. I get i think about three colors put in and I always get loads of compliments when i leave. I read all these ads for expensive salons and trendy lil places that come and go all over Boston, but when i heard a handful of girls at my office talking about Amaci I had to go and check it out. I work at Liberty Mutual, which is about a 4 min walk to the salon. I had my appointment set up on my lunch break haircut. The test was if i loved it, and if i made it back on time. Well I did more than both! My hair cut was incredible. A guy named Curtis did this dry cut technique which was perfect. I saw exactly how much was coming off and the finish was so impressive healthy and fast! Bostons Best if i say so

I've been to the salon and all I can say is, I'm not sure where these reviews come from. I think they are the owners friends. The owner was too busy taking care of other customers to pay attention to me or even blow-dry my hair (someone else did it). He seemed more concerned with himself than with the customers. I would go elsewhere.

I have been getting my eyebrows done for years. A small treat I like to give myself once every month or so! A little over a year ago, I found Amaci Salon. Let me tell you - - best find ever!

I had never tried threading, but decided to get it on a whim - 20 bucks for the best eyebrow shape I have ever seen. I never make appointments there - always walk-in and I am never waiting long. Amma always does an amazing job!

I have gotten them done out of town before...and the results are incomparable!

Pros: Not too pricey for the service, always an amazing job!

Amad is a creative genius!! He has been my stylist for ten years now and I will never let anyone but him touch my hair. He is an expert in deciding exactly what color suits my hair as well as what cut will work best for me.
The staff at Amaci Salon-they are amazing! Friendly, sweet and energetic! The salon is very modern with fun music and overall has a warm, welcoming feel.
Amaci Salon is a must visit! Once you have Amad cut your hair, I gurantee you will keep coming back!

It's very hard for me to change stylists but when I moved to boston I had no choice. I found Amaci because it is located across from my school and happened to be appointed to Amad. He is absolutly amazing. After the first time I walked out so amazed and from then forward I knew I coul djut say "do whatever" and it woudl look amazing. BUT, dont ever miss an appointment because they will never call you back. and now Ive had to change my salon and im not happy about that

Curtis did my extensions and I get compliments everywhere I go. Because of him, I know that they are affordable. He's honest, does a GREAT job, has a wonderful personality and he's reasonable, which is more than I can say for other Back Bay spots. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a great haircut or wants to change their style.
I wish I could say the same for the make-up artist they have there. I went for a trial run before the wedding and left in tears. The make-up was so severe and not at all appropriate for a wedding. A halloween party, yes. I told her a few times it was too much and she really didn't get it. She used so much eye make-up that after FIVE times washing my face, I still had this horrible black eyeler on.
I love Curtis and would go back to him in a second!!

I was AMAZED at how my hair looked when i left i almost didnt even recognize myself, Curtis did a full head of extensions in about 2 hours that blew me away i saw extensions on the website but didnt know he could do it that same day. My husband couldnt keep his hands out of my my hair...hell i couldnt either
I recommend anyone INTERESTED IN HAIR EXTENSIONS to go, dont be fooled or ripped off this man is a genius

Maria is a very talented colorist. I have been blond for the past 8 years and really wanted a change, after doing some research I was referred to Maria. She took my hair from being overprocessed, dull and unhealthy to a beautiful, rich shade of chocolate brown. I never felt rushed, she took her time and was very patient with me because I was nervous going to a new stylist and completly putting my faith in them but I am so happy I did! She also gives an incredable blowout and showed me some different ways to style it at home. I felt so good leaving that salon and Im sending all my friends to Amaci!

Im new to the city and was looking for a new stylist that works well with curly hair. One of my coworkers suggested i give maria a try. She was on time, professional and most of all i absolutly love the cut she gave me and showed me how to style it on my own. Everyone was very friendly and i was able to do this on my lunch hour which was very convent for me. I will defintly be returning and referring people to maria!

Amad has to be one of the best stylists in Boston and I will definitely keep going back! I have a lot of hair and he can foil quickly and it still looks awesome. The haircut is also the best one I've ever had. I've been having my hair foiled for over 8 years and I was beyond impressed at how quick he got it done and how great it looked when he was done! I definitely recommend him to everyone!

I recently got a recomendation to Maria for a haircut. After Maria's through consultation, we decided to do some highlights. This was my first time coloring my hair and i was really nervous. She assured me everything was going to be great and I truly love my new color! It's so natural and it really brightened up my face, just like maria said. I didnt think it could get any better and then she cut my hair, giving my a new fresh stylish look. I left the salon smiling from ear to ear because this is the best my hair has ever looked. She even showed me in detail how to style it (which alot of stylists tend to leave out), so easy! My hair was done last week and for the first time ever total strangers have stopped me on the street asking where i got my hair done! Maria is super talented and I highly recommend her!

I have been going to Amad for hair cuts and color for the past 11 years!!! I would never consider going to anyone else. Amad is increadibly talented when it comes to cutting hair and is always able to give me a haircut that is fabulous and flattering. The salon is always clean, and everyone is very friendly. Amad is always prompt. Unlike other salons, Amad really listens to what you ask for and I have always been totally pleased with my haircuts. I have gotten many compliments on both the cut and the color and I have been very satisfied. I would recommend this salon to everyone.

I recently visited AMACI salon to get the usual mens haircut, buzzed on the side trimmed on the top!!! Curtis suggested a nice trendy style i could get a couple of different looks out of. He faded my sides down and cleaned up my hairline to perfection i was impressed by his precision. Then razored out a pretty nice faux hawk that changed my entire look !!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again Curtis ill be back in 4 weeks ( if i can remember ) LOL

I am a african american professional woman and am very conscience of my image. I noticed a young man of color in AMACI working on another african american woman. I just stopped in to see what the prices were like and to see what services he offered. He ended up talking me into doing extensions with a BRAND NEW technique that looks absolutley addorable and the best part about it is he kept the price under 200.00 i am impressed and me and all my girlfriends will be returning !!!!!!!!!

ps They validate parking in a garage so theres no tickets when you get back to your car WOOOOOOW !!!!!

I was recently in town on a buisness trip and needed a hair salon badly. When i went online i found Amaci's. The staff there was wonderful and treated me like a queen. While with my stylist, Curtis, the owner made an appereance to welcome me there which i thought was a really nice gesture. My hair cut came out better then i could of ever expected. Whenever im in town Amacis will be my first stop.

I came in for the regular highlights and a lil summer cut. Mind you i just had a horrible experience elsewhere with the cut. Well......needless to say, i simply explained my situation to Curtis and he immediatly sugested what we should start to do to fix this problem! It sounded so great i asked the price for all he suggested. He gave me a perfect price. He is such a sweetheart too. I totally recommend anyone sick of being a hair guinea pig to see Curtis and Amad down at AMACI salon

I was in Boston recently for a charity function and stopped at Amaci because it was a short walk from my hotel. I did not have an appointment and only waited a few minutes to be served. Considering that it was a Saturday afternoon, I was pleased to receive such rapid service. First, Anna did my makeup and I was very pleased. Made me look very special. Believe me that was not an easy job. I suggested that she consider selling the blush and lipstick colors she used because I liked the colors and would have liked to have had them with me for touch-ups during the evening. After that, Maria recombed my hair and made me look like I had just had my hair done. She made some very good suggestions as to cut and color (I have highlights) that if I had had the time I would have had her do them. The next time I visit Boston, I will make an appointment with her.

I went to Amaci recently, first experience and it wasn't all that it was made out to be. Amad was very friendly but seemed distracted most of the time (ie. answering phones, talking to other clients, rushing). My highlights weren't the color I wanted, too dark and the roots looked as if I hadn't had my hair colored in weeks!! The price wasn't bad for the city, but I definitely wasn't satisfied. I called my mom crying about how I just wasted $200 on highlights that looked like they were 3 weeks old. The haircut was great, I would go back for that. But I wouldn't brag about the salon. I definitely wouldn't recomend it for highlights, maybe a haircut. I have been getting my hair done for at least 10 years and have only complained ONE other time. I do have to say though...he was on time and I only had to wait 5 minutes!

Amaci's has always provided great services for me. I have been going to Ana for brazilian waxes. Brazilian waxes aren't ever pleasant but she makes you feel comfortable and relaxed.

I have the flyest hair cut in Boston. Everywhere I go i get compliments, my stylist Curtis is the best around. If you want a hair cut that is unique and you are not afraid to be different go see him. He has a talent like no other stylist I have ever seen I feel like a new woman since I got my hair cut .

I searched long and hard for a hair salon and stylist in Boston. After reading the reviews about Amaci I decided to make an appointment with Amad. I went in with hair down to my waist and came out with an amazing short cut and color. Amad has a different cutting technique then anyone that has cut my hair before. I highly recommend Amaci to anyone who's looking for a hip salon with reasonable prices!
