I recently recieved a beautiful layered hair cut from Curtis. I have long dark hair, and had no idea what to do. I asked for something modern yet not too short or hard to maintain....He nailed it !!!!! Thank you soooooooooooooooo much Curtis your the best

My first trip to Amaci was last week, and I have to say - my highlights have never come out this good!! My appointment was on time (can't remember the last time i could say that) and Amad does phenomenal work. I've got dark hair, so putting light highlights through evenly is never easy...but this was no challenge for Amad. Absolutely satisfied - I know where I'll be going next time I need anything for my hair!

I've got long hair (mid back) and keeping my highlights in check is not always an easy task. Amad knows what to do and how to make it look great, and I'm always impressed with the results. I'd recommend Amaci to anyone looking for quality & reasonable prices, and now I won't go anywhere else.

Don't forget to have your garage ticket stamped for the parking discount!

I've been to many places for a brazilian but i've never had such a good experience as i did with Anna. She's very sweet and patient and i would definitely recommend her to everyone who wants to have a perfect Brazilian done. Call and ask for Anna, i'm sure you won't regret it!

Like most girls I am a creature of habit and when it comes to my hair I am extremely over protective. I have been to multiple salons in Boston trying to find the right stylist since my move from LA and found a gem in Maria. Not only does she color hair like it should be an art form but she also makes you feel completely comfortable. Going in to Amaci the first time my hair had taken a beating and Maria saved it. There is no one else in Boston I will go to now. Having a stylist that truly knows what you will look good with and making sure to give you nothing but the best is rare, and that is what Maria has done countless times. Every time I have a friend looking for a stylist the only one I can think of worth a recommendation is Maria.

Amad and his staff are welcoming and highly skilled. My 20 bazillion calls with the receptionist to arrange a good appointment time was handled with professionalism and understanding. The atmosphere in his salon is inviting and my "two second" wait for Amad was occupied by the mounds and mounds of fabulous fashionista and celeb gossip magazines. Amad understands women, hair and beauty. That's all you need in your stylist. I walked out of the salon feeling refreshed and ready for a night out! Go there for great color and haircut. This is the place for beauty Boston!

I would highly recommend Maria at Amaci. When I first went to her I had never had highlights but wanted something new, and so left it up to her to recommend what would look the best--and it turned out great. The cut itself was amazing. I have wavy, sometimes-curly sometimes-straight hair that stylists can never seem to get right and I've never walked out of a place loving what they've done. But with just a little description of what I wanted she cut it perfectly, just how I wanted--and I got a number of compliments on my haircut that night. Plus she's so friendly..overall a great experience.

I read the great reviews here and decided to Amaci a try. My experience was absolutely horrible and would never return again. I paid $30 for a men's cut. This was relatively cheaper to places that I used to go to. However, the cut I received was similar to what I could have gotten at Super Cuts and felt that they should advertise their service as such. The stylist cut the sides of my hair using a buzzer instead of scissors. She spent a total of no more than 10 minutes on my hair. The length of my hair on top came out uneven at the end and I had to ask her to even it out. Furthermore, she showed up to my appointment about 5-10 minutes late even though I was her first client. This was probably the worst cut of my life. At a price of $30, I would rather go to Super Cut instead and get a better end result.

I've been here 3 times. I was lured in by the 20% off coupon but after my most recent $175.00 job won't be going back. Maria Rivera, one of the stylists kept me returning because she knows what she's doing, explains everything in detail which proves she knows what she's doing and has done a great job with highlighting my hair. A former Newbury Street gal, she's very up to date with modern techniques and for someone like myself who likes a more modest look, knows how to add style to simplicity. I've seen people walk out from her with gorgeous elaborate styles too. She also gives extensive tips on how to dry and style your own hair, demonstrating technique which is really nice. Still, for the price, I expect a more spa-like experience. The salon space is not up to par with its competitors, arguably tacky and far from relaxing with its techno house and blaring dance party music. One thing that bothers me a lot is that they don't properly clean up the fallen hair in the salon. It was all around my chair, all over the floor and on the shampooing chair I sat in. I'm not sure what the protocol for this is in salons, but it seems very unprofessional to have layers and layers of other people's hair scattering near your feet. This has been the case all 3 times I've been there and although the space isn't filthy, it's not clean. The shampoos have been rough and uncomfortable no matter who does it and for a price which usually promises a scalp massage, you'd expect at least a comfortable seat. It's not. I wanted it to be over with and thats usually my favorite part! This time around I was foolishly talked into getting an extra "glaze" put on after my highlight to preserve it and add shine. As a consumer, I think that this should be a part of the package. A good coloring should last long! It was only left on for 3 minutes. 3 minutes for an extra $20! Overall, Amaci needs to work on making its business match its talented stylists or lower prices a lot. For the $$$, its a C.

I found Amaci looking on these pages and thought I should let others know what a great experience I had. Amad was very friendly and gave me a fun flirty haircut that was perfect for my facial features. Plus, the color was exactly what I was hoping for. Amad really listens to what you're trying to get out of your style and executes beautifully. All of the employees (including the other stylists) were extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend giving Amaci a shot.

i recently got my hair cut & highlighted at amaci salon in boston, and i'm really impressed! i'd been going to another salon in boston for months, but when my appointment was late YET AGAIN for an hour, i decided to try somewhere new. well, after calling a friend for advice, i ended up at amaci and i couldn't be happier. appointment on time, very professional, amad did phenomenal work on my highlights (not easy with my dark hair) and the facility in general was well maintained and clean. i wish i had found amaci months ago, would have saved me a lot of time and aggravation. go to amaci, you'll be happy!

I got my hair cut and highlighted last month and I was very pleased with the results. I'm extremely picky about haircuts and I haven't gotten highlights in years because I didn't think anyone would be able to do anything nice with my hair, because it's so dark. But, Amad suggested a nice golden color and it turned out great! He listens to what you want and he makes his own suggestions which are very helpful. I would definitely suggest going here, because you will be happy with the results!

I've been a client at Amaci for a few years now, and it's the only place I'll recommend to friends and coworkers. Amad always knows what's best for my hair, even when I don't! Sometimes I choose, and sometimes I leave the decisions up to him...but my hair always comes out looking fabulous. He always knows what's hot and new, and that's what I like best about him...well, that and the great cut, color, and style I receive! boston traffic suuucks, but man i drive up from quincy to get my haircuts here. other places in my area always seem to screw somethin up. too short here, too long there, extra little bits of hair. this place is no supercuts that's for sure, and it's almost the same price. i usually have amad (the owner) do mine but sometimes one of the other girls does it when he's booked. they all do a kickass job, so don't worry if you stop by and amad is booked cause it'll still come out real nice. they've got lots of hair stuff too if your into that. park in the hotel garage down the street too and don't forget to stamp your ticket before you go back. def check this place out if your around boston.

I've been having Amad cut & highlight my hair for a few years now, and I have to say - he's by far the best. I tried a couple other places in the Boston area prior to Amaci, and nobody else comes close. The color & cut is reasonably priced and I'm always satisfied! I've sent a few friends to Amaci & they've all become regular customers as well.

I'd recommend Amaci to anyone that wants great hair without spending hundreds of dollars to get it.

Pros: validated parking for $3 is a nice bonus - no parking tickets!

I had searched for a couple of years to find a good salon and stylist in Boston, and it wasn't until I found Amad at Amaci that I found that I was not only satisfied with his work, but I actually looked forward to getting to go back! I've had cut and color done by him. He's very attentive to what you want done, you can trust his judgement when he suggests something that you hadn't thought of, and he's very consistent. I found that stylists I had previously gone to would sort of underestimate and be rather conservative about what I asked for, but not only does Amad understand, but if you're open to it, he'll even push you to a more adventurous look. You don't have to book very far in advance; I've gotten in the same day I called once. Amad is very quick and precise, and I've been in and out for a cut in 30 minutes a couple of times. Everyone else in the salon is very nice as well. And on top of it, they're cheaper than most salons in the area. You really can't ask for more!

You've gotta check out Amaci in Boston...the best place I've ever gone! Amad is amazing, he always gets it right and never lets me down. It's pretty cheap too compared to most of the other places.

Make suer you park in the Radisson parking garage down the street to save on parking - $3 with validation.

I would highly recommend Amad for highlights and haircuts. He is great. I have been multiple times and am always extremely happy with his work. He respects your opinion and listens to what you want, but always has a great suggestion or two to make my idea even better. I have received many compliments on my hair whenever I go to see Amad. A bunch of my friends also go and love him!

iIve been to Amaci several times now for eyebrow threading and Anna always does a great job. It's as painless as you can expect for threading, and she works very quickly and meticulously -- all while taking the time to find out exactly what you want (I don't like my eyebrows too thin, and she makes sure to comply with my request instead of just doing her own thing). My eyebrows always look great and she is extremely nice.

I have been going to Amaci for almost a year and absolutely love it! One person in particular is Anna - my sister and I go to her for threading and she is fabulous. Very friendly, very very meticulous, she listens carefully to what you'd like and she takes her time so don't go if you are in a hurry. She goes out of her way to make sure you're comfortable and does a great job. I've also visited Amad for highlights and have gotten a few haircuts from him - two words to sum his style: chic and sophisticated. Disclaimer: If you feel strongly about your hairstyle or eyebrow shape or anything else you go there for - make sure you speak up!

I had this service done probably a month ago, but forgot to write a review until now. Went in to get my eye-brows done. Very hospitable and friendly. There was a bit of mis-communication because Anna (Amma?) thought that I wanted a threading, but I just politely said I wanted a waxing, which was no problem. Everyone was very nice and the salon was super clean and chic. I might try and go back within the next few days to get highlights done.

Ugh! I had my eyebrows done at this salon because I could not get an appointment at my usual place. The staff seemed nice, but the individual that threaded my eyebrows did a very poor job. My brows look ratty and they are uneven thickness-wise and length-wise. One has a slight arch, one is straight and to top it off both look like they are a wax that has grown in unevenly with stragglers. I should be able to fix it with a brow pencil and tweezers.

Amad is a creative genius. He always has innovative suggestions and knows what's in. He's also fun to talk to and always has interesting stuff to say...I've been going to Amaci's for close to two years and have never been disappointed with my haircut. Also, the salon is run flawlessly, with very little wait, unlike other places where the wait is 30 minutes plus. I highly recommend giving Amaci a try!

It was a rainy day in October 1995 when I happened upon Amad. He cut my hair and added some highlights just for kicks. My hair hasn't been cut by anyone else since. I have never been unhappy with a cut, except when I asked him to do something he had advised against. He knows me; he knows my hair. I've gone in and said "Can you make me look stylish?" and he did it. I have recommended him to several friends and will continue to do so. Tell him Jessica says Hi!

I've done to Rossmary three times now after a recommendation from a co-worker. She gives great service and is a perfectionist. She mixed a great color for me. However, last time I got a retouching of my highlights and haircut, the price was $150. When I got it done recently, it was $170 and she was 30min late to start. I would like the price to be cheaper and next time I will definitely ask what the price is before she touches my head.

Amad has been doing my hair since college, and now I'm a 30-something mom. He's adapted my hairstyles to fit every phase of my life. He listens to what I want, and I trust his judgement completely - the color is always amazing and the cut always stylish and exactly what I'm looking for. One thing I can count on is always leaving Amad's salon feeling beautiful! But the real proof is in 15 or so years of others complimenting my hair. Amad has brought his own personality into Amaci, making it a relaxing, fun place to be, with a team of very talented, creative and dedicated stylists.

The staff is always welcoming and Amad has an unerring sense of style. He listens to what I have in mind but then does something creative and fabulous, both with my kind of spiky outrageous hairdo and then with a different style all together. And he is a delightful person.

I went to Amaci after reading several of the excellent reviews here on citysearch and the experience has lived up to my expectations. Amad does an amazing job of cutting and styling hair; he seems to know the latest styles and methods, and I'm impressed that he stays on top of current trends. The experience is high end salon, but the prices are much more reasonable. Amaci is a great find in Boston; it lives up to is reputation.

Pros: Cutting edge styling knowledge, and the ability to meet customer's needs for styles/treatments

I have been a client at the Amaci Salon for three years. I have visited a great deal of downtown salons and my experiences at Amaci have been by far the best quality and most personable. I leave the salon with my hair looking fabulous and in a great mood. Whether I go in for just a cut or coloring, I always receive promt service. If I have specific instructions Amad follows them or if I want him to try something new at his own discretion, it always comes out great! I would definitly recommend booking your next appointment here! They also validate parking which is a great plus!!

Every time I go to Amaci I always get a great cut. I highly recommend Amad who I believe is the owner. He cuts my hair wet or dry cut and it is always fantastic! The price for a cut- $50-$60 is a great value for the service. All my friends and coworkers have positive things to say when I come home from Amaci.

I have been going to Rossmary for many years, and my hair always looks fantastic! I have curly hair that is very difficult and she makes it look great. I have seen her do all types of hair and they look equally great. Rossmary also does the best highlights I have ever gotten. I even have a friend who drives from the north shore to Boston just to get highlights from Rossmary. I went to Rossmary again yesterday, and she gave me the best cut and blowdry that I have ever gotten! I went to a party after I got my hair done and I have never gotten so many complements on how great I look! If you are looking for a stylist and/or colorist in Boston, you will not be disappointed if you go to Rossmary at Amaci Salon.

I have not used any of Amaci's other stylists or services, so I cannot comment on them.

Amad has given me my best haircut ever. I have gone to "numerous" salons in several cities and countries but I would safely say that Amad and Amaci Salon are the best. Amad is very friendly and makes great suggestions for products to use. I reserve my highest praise for this salon.

Boston is lucky to have someone as skilled as Amad working in its salon industry. He is above par for hair cut and color, no matter your hair type. I've been a client for a couple of years now and I consistently go home happy, which is why I always come back. He always has great recommendations for style, color and appropriate products. He's very personable and I've never once felt unwelcomed. As you can probably tell, I'm very attached, and with good reason :)

i had never gotten my hair highlighted and i went to amaci salon whose name i got from a friend and i got my frist highlights at the age of 21 !
i had maria rivera who took me under her wing... and i gave her control. which was a smart move.
she took my virgin hair and mind set and gave me natural looking highlights...i almost cried when i saw them i couldent have been happier.
she also gave me a stylish new cut so that my hair was healthy happy and pretty.
she is the go to girl for talk and amazing hair.
plus it wasent nearly as pricy as i thought it would be...
you should deffinitly check this place out as a new comer to the area and/or as a new comer to the full salon experence.
GO TO AMACI SALON MARIA RIVERA TRUST ME i wish some one would have told me all this so i could have narrowed down my long search for an non-expensive, amazing salon !

Anna- all I have to say!!! I am so incredibly pleased with my waxing. I have gone to several different salons, but with no luck finding an individual who would do my eye brow I want, or even close for that matter. I was so impressed with the way Anna had did my sister's skin smooth and clean that I made the appointment two days later. It has been about two weeks now and everyday I wake up I look forward to the way I will be feeling that day. Anna took her time to help me ,thank her ENOUGH for her fabulous sense of style, WHAT A TALENT!!! I've been going to Amaci salon for about a year and a half and have always been thrilled with not only my haircuts but also my highlights. Amad is incredible. He snips away like Edward Sissorhands but with incredible accuracy and precision. I've never gotten such a quick cut and color as with him. He is always able to fit me in exactly when I want to come in, and I always make appointments at the last minute. The validated parking at the garage next door is a huge plus as well. Everyone is down to earth and very friendly as well. I've never gotten as many compliments as after a cut with Amad!

I have tried many salons and this is by far the best cut I have gotten. Amad did an amazing job. I never knew what to do with my unruly, wavy hair. No product I tried could tame it -- and I have tried a ton of products. Amad's cut along with his amazing product recommendations did the trick. My hair falls in nice, soft curls (not crunchy!), even when it is humid outside. I get compliments all the time on how great my hair now looks. The color is great too -- exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Amaci Salon and Amad.

It's kind of embarrassing to admit that I never had a good salon experience. I would always have bad haircuts and, yes, spend the next four months in misery until my hair grows out again. So for my birthday this year I decided to go to a "pricer" salon in town. I cannot believe I actually LOVE my haircut...for once! I straightened my hair and had a trim with Amad. Amad is amazing. I believe all the others are just as amazing because everyone who left there was happy with their hair. But, Amad, he will impress you with his skills. He only used one tool -- a scissor to give you this beautiful haircut. And the best part was that the hair he cut would fly and drop on the floor with style. Definitely the funnest part of all. I'll return to his salon for sure. Give it a try!

I highly recommend Rossmary at Amaci Salon. I have been her client for 11 years and cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She is a master at what she does. Her cuts are the best and I have also been pleased with my highlights and lowlights. I have referred my closest friends to her, and they were also impressed. You won't regret choosing my stylist!

RossMary at Amaci Salon is fantastic! I had been to many of the "Best of Boston" salons prior to finding RossMary and she is far superior to any stylist/colorist I've had in the past. RossMary was recommended to me a couple of years ago by a co-worker whose hair always looks terrific. I was amazed by what she could make my hair do! Not only do you leave RossMary feeling like a new person, she teaches you how to make your hair look great on your own. I have thick curly hair and RossMary taught me how to straighten it into a smooth shine and also gives me pointers on how to wear it curly without frizz. RossMary is an amazing colorist. I've had one process colors as well as highlights and always love how the color turns out. Other places I've been were never able to completely color my gray roots. RossMary works the color in like I've never seen to create an amazing natural full coverage color. One service which I was never offered at any other salon, is a deep conditioning treatment after coloring. I think it is one of RossMary's trademarks! It makes a huge difference in the life of the shine and color. People continually compliment me on my color and shine weeks after I've had it done! Because of the nature of my hair, I was never completely satisfied with the cut prior to RossMary. She is a master stylist. She always cuts my hair perfectly and respects my desire to keep as much of the length as possible. I can't say enough good things about RossMary. I highly recommend that everyone go see her. Once you do, you'll never go anywhere else!! Amaci Salon is conveniently located on Stuart St. There is a parking garage next door which Amaci validates, so you pay less than half the price ($3-$7).

I moved to Boston two years ago and was petrified of finding a new salon because of high Newbury Street prices and the threat of a terrible, too-trendy cut. I found the reviews for Amaci on Citysearch and based on all the fantastic reviews, I decided to make an appointment with Amad, the salon owner. The results were so great that I haven't gotten my hair cut anywhere else since then. I never have to tell Amad what to do, I just give him a couple guidelines and he always gives me a great, fresh, and just-right-for-me cut. He always does his best for every customer. I've recommended him to friends (all of whom have been thrilled with their cuts!) and even to my mother, who travels all the way from Washington, DC just to get her hair cut by Amad. The prices are very reasonable, there is never a long wait for a scheduled appointment, and I always leave feeling like a million!

I first came across Rosemary from a friend whos hair always looked movie perfect. I have thick, dry, hard to manage hair and have been unsucessful at trying to finding a hair dresser who can handle my hair. I decided to give Rosemary 6 years ago and since then I refuse to have anyone else touch my hair. She is a perfectionist, she takes her time and somehow turns my hair into silk. This is an art to her. If you want your hair done right ever time you must see Rosemary at Amaci Salon. I promise you will not regret it.

Amad is the man! He's incredibly attentive and always offers great, cutting edge suggestions...There's never a dull moment with all of his amusing stories. Plus Amaci sells great hair products that I haven't seen at other salons. I highly recommend you check him out!
