Amaci Salon

I've lived in the Boston area for 4 and a half years and searched about 3 of those looking for someone who could cut, color, and style my hair well without breaking my wallet, making me look cheap, or ruining my hair because it was the way they wanted to do it. Amad has a great sense of style and color that is complimentary and edgy. For a dry cut and style, the price is perfect. Plus, you get pampered and engaged in conversation; sipping wine and just talking. No pretention, no attitude, no snobby people. Just a great place all the way around. I am glad I kept looking all those years. I know I wont have to look any more.

I moved to Boston 2 years ago and needed a new hair stylist. I went to Amaci after a friend's recommendation and was so pleased. Dom is the best. He listens to exactly what you want and also has a lot of ideas for what would work best for you. He's a great hair stylist and knows exactly what he's doing. And he's always fun to be around. What's great about Amaci is that you get a fabulous haircut for a reasonable price; it doesn't cost nearly as much as some of the overpriced salons around the corner. I highly recommend, everybody I know who's gone there has had a really good experience.

Amaci is definitely the best salon in Boston. It has a great location, reasonable prices, parking options and they are true professionals. Amad has been doing my hair for few years now and I wouldnt trust anyone else. He knows style and color very well and the result is spectacular every time. If you havent, I recommend you give it a try and you would love it too!

Amad has been my hair stylist for 10 years. I was very excited to follow him to Amaci as I knew he had both the experience and vision for one of the top salons in the city. The atmosphere is warm and stylish without being intimidating. Amad has a great eye for style and even during some of my less adventurous hair cuts, he always chose something that had the perfect amount of style and looked great on me for months after. I highly, highly recommend Amaci Salon.

Rossmary has been my hairdresser since I moved to Boston two years ago, and with two drastically different hairstyles - both before and after donating a foot of my hair to locks for love - she was able to give me exactly the cut I needed: something stylish without being too trendy that looks great without too much effort. Amad, Amaci's owner, does everything right!

I've been following Amad from salon to salon in Boston and I'm happy that he finally has his own place. Amad takes time to listen to his clients. He doesn't just give people a "trendy" hair cut, he taylors each cut to the individual. I've been seeing Amad for about 8 or 9 years now and I will follow him to the end of the earth. I have NEVER been unhappy with my hair cut or color. Amad knows his stuff.

The Stuart Street location is very cute and away from the craziness of Newbury St. The environment is very relaxed and the staff makes everyone feel comfortable - there is NO intimidation factor here.

I recently made my first trip to this salon, having followed Rossmary from FX over on Comm Ave. What a difference! This ambiance here is great, very classy and professional. The location is extremely convenient for anyone working downtown. And of course, it's the same great work. Rossmary always knows exactly how to balance my preference for looking "natural" with a touch of sophistication. Highly recommended!

This savvy salon really is the whole package. I've been to Amad for over 7 years now and have only been completely ecstatic and satisfied everytime I leave. Aside from myself, I have over the years sent numerous college roommates, and now professional co-workers who not only regularly go, but travel from out of state. Amad has a gift and ingenius talent to match colors and cuts to your personal style and taste. The entire salon is absolutely in the know about trends, fashion and comfort. Don't be afraid to ask for something daringly new or different--you won't be disappointed.

My advice? Allow some time, have a glass of wine, enjoy the tunes, and relax to the pampering shampoo/conditioner massages they are all so undeniably amazing at!

Amad is AWESOME! He took my unruly curly hair and made it fabulous.
He was professional, fun, talkative (but not too chatty) and made me walk out feeling wonderful.

I went to Amaci on a whim today and I will definitely be going back. He knew exactly what would look good and made it happen. I can not recommend Amad enough and the salon is clean, cool and inviting. I have spent much more money on Newbury Street salons, but this is a Back Bay gem without the snazzy address. Be sure to make your appointment ahead of time as the phone was ringing off the hook! Thanks AMAD (6195).

I just cant find the exact words to define Ryans work. He is the best, just magical. For the last 3 years he has NEVER failed my expectations and every time I get my haircut (and color) he just proves he is the BEST, and a good friend. If that wouldnt be enough, the place is GREAT: clean, nice, cozy, good location and a great staff.

Amal is the best hairdresser I've ever had! I've been going to her since September and every time is better than the last. I can tell her to do whatever she thinks is best, and she's always right. Even with blonde highlights, my hair has never been healthier or shinier. Amal is like Hercules with a hair dryer...she can make the curliest perfectly straight!

I luckily stumbled upon Amad in March. It has been 5 months since my cut and it still looks good! Well minus the split ends (my fault). Amad simply sat me down and without any consultation he knew exactly what color highlight to give me as well as what kind of cut. He was really easy going and definitely knows his stuff. It's unbelievable that I have not gotten it cut in so long but it still is layered and highlighted nicely. Since I have found a job, I plan to spend the extra money and travel to Boston from NYC to get my hair done by Amad.

For the past 5 years I have been getting my hair cut by the Best hairdresser I have ever had. I would follow Ryan to the end of the earth because it ensures that I will have the best cut and color ever. Ryan will leave you feeling like you just walked out of a photo shoot because he knows how to work with your assets and make your beauty shine. I have been able to get everyone one of my friends to switch to Ryan as well as my sister who lives in CT. I'm so glad I found Amad. After a bad experience (both color and cut) at another high end salon, I logged onto CitySearch and decided to try Amaci Salon based on their great reviews . Amad immediately saw what needed to be done to correct the problems and he made me feel at ease. My color turned out great and he gave me a fun, short hairstyle just like I wanted.
He is very professional, pays close attention to detail and seems to really love his work!

My hair is subtly wavy - all other hairdressers in the past have tried unsuccesfully tried to striaghten it...making it look fabulous to start with but unmanageable as it grows out. Its been a few weeks now and I'm still happy with my haircut from Amaci. For the first time someone has understood the nature of my hair and worked with it. Thank you Ryan!

Ryan is by far the best stylist in Boston, and in the US as far as I am concerned! I have been going to him for almost 6 years and now I fly from Chicago just to get my hair cut and colored by him. He is absolutely fabulous. I get so many compliments and my color lasts so long that the plane ticket pays for itself! Amad has been cutting my hair for ten years. I started going to FX when I was thirteen, and have since been following him to any salon that he works at. He has a great eye and I have never been unhappy with any cut, color or up-do. Having him do my hair is always a pleasure and I always leave very happy. Amad (the owner) has been styling my hair since 2000, and I fear going anywhere else! I strayed once a few years ago, and quickly realized why i make the trip to Boston every time.

I love walking in, sitting down, and saying "do your thing" and he does - every time, no problem. If i want something different, I can tell him what i want (color/style/cut/length/anything) and it is done just right. If I'm indecisive, I'll say "do something new" and it is creatively done...and I am always happy with the results.

This is the place to go. I've followed Amad from hair fx on comm ave to leeba salon on comm ave, and now his own place on stuart st. If you want to get a great haircut/style/color without paying out the nose or worrying about the results, this is the place - Amaci Salon.

I have been coming to Amaci Salon for about 12 years now! I have followed Amad from his first locations on Newbury Street, to now his grand achievement -- Amaci Salon and I can't say enough good things about it.

Amad always manages to find the perfect new twist for my style to keep it fresh, new, and yet in keeping with my individual look. I am now traveling quite a way to be able to continue to have him do my cut and color, but the results always make it worth the trip for me (and convenient parking is a big help). The salon is comfortable, relaxing and very stylish. The staff is friendly and polite. Amad is always attentive, and wonderful to work with. I recommend the salon very highly.

I had moved to Boston about 5 years ago, from the westcoast. I had to leave a great stylist, and when I got here I had bad hair experiences, one after the other. I went to some of the most over-priced, and big headed stylists in town, and never once did I leave a place feeling great about my hair. Then I went online and saw Amaci was reviewed so well, I thought I would give it one more try. Ryan was my stylist and he was amazing, he listened to every word I said, (really listened) and my cut was so perfect, I had him do color the next week and it too was absolutely perfect, the low lights mixed with the perfect shade of blonde.Finally!!!!!! I have been seeing Amad at Amaci Salon for over a year now. He is by far the best colorist in the city. I drive in from Auburn to see him every six weeks for dry cut and color. His appointments run on time, which is very important to me, since I am a busy mom and post graduate student. My friends also see Amad, and I notice that his styles are always both beautiful and ageless. I feel twenty years younger each time I step out of the salon.

I should also mention that the ladies at his salon offer the most gorgeous eyebrow shaping, with the choice of waxing or threading. I highly recommend this, as the ladies are extremely skillful.

In my mind, Amaci Salon offers the best in service and style...anywhere!

Amaci Salon is absolutely unbelievable. I, too, have been to several salons on Newbury Street, and Maksou in the Financial District as well. Amad is by far the best hair artist in the city. Every cut is perfection. In fact, I like his cut and color so much that I recently moved to the Seattle area, and am coming back to Boston for my next hair appointment with Amad. Until I find a stylist out here, I am going to have to fly back to Boston!

Amad was the first person to cut my hair when I moved to Boston eight years ago and I have followed him to various salons ever since. A friend had recommended him and I'm so glad she did. Now he owns Amaci and I won't go anywhere else. He is the only stylist I have ever trusted to do whatever he wants with my hair- and it always looks great. Strangers on the street compliment my cut, a friend has started going to Amad, and even my mother in New York says she wants go to him for a cut! Plus the atmosphere is great and the prices are reasonable- you can't beat this place!

I used to go to Maksou because of its proximity to my office, but when my haristylist left, there was no one there that could give me a great haircut at a reasonable price. Amad, the owner of Amaci, is the best and gives the best haircut in town and for a better price than other salons in Boston. He goes out of his way to make sure all customers get great service. I have recommended Amaci to my girlfreind who gets her highlights done at Amaci. Amad has more than earned her trust, she won't let anyone else touch her hair!

I HIGHLY recommend Amaci Salon! It's the easiest way to get a great cut & color and avoid routine, stale style & color. Since becoming an Amaci client, I've constantly been told that my hair looks the best that it ever has-- and most importantly, I agree! Amad & the Amaci staff are not only very adept with various approaches to cutting hair (wet & dry) and coloring, they offer superb advice to tame unruly hair (like mine) recommending great products and demonstrating styling techninques so I can duplicate the "just got my hair done" look every day. I've been very impressed with Amad's dedication to customer satisfaction- if you don't like your hair, he's not happy. In addition, I love being able to call last minute, when I REALLY need a haircut, and schedule an appointment that fits my schedule (even Saturday evenings) and that is not a month away. They're easy access by car or the Arlington St. Green Line stop. And while I haven't ventured into the skin-care portion of the salon, everytime I'm there I see contented customers coming & going- maybe I'll have to try that next.

I started going to Amaci as a referral from a friend and I am only upset I did not listen to her sooner. I have gotten more compliments on my color and cut than I can count. They have the best of both worlds of outstanding service as well as professional and comfortable environment in the salon itself, but one of the best things about them is their ability to accommodate my schedule since I travel a lot for work and the weeks go by before I know it I need an appointment and they are always able to accommodate my chaotic schedule. Last I think the location is ideal, you can get there by T or the parking lot is there if you need it I can't say enough of how great this place is and how I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Dominic saved my blonde from the blahs!! I went in with highlights that had washed out my color and left me only able to describe it as 'blah'. I didn't know what it needed, didn't know how to ask for the right thing to correct it, but Dominic took one look at it, heard me say 'blah' and without further instruction knew immediately what to do! I left with a gorgeous head of honey blonde highlights with depth and warmth! I'm new to the Boston area and I can't thank City Search enough -- thanks to these reviews I found my salon on my first try!! The staff are friendly and upbeat and my hair looks fabulous! Amad has been cutting and highlighting my hair since the salon opened on Stuart St. I can honestly say that I have never feel better than when I walk out of that Salon! He is a master with color, and amazing with cuts. I never know what I want when I sit down in his chair, and he always says, "dont worry, I know exactly what we will do." I have been apart of the Amaci Salon family for the past year and I am always amazed by the expertise and percision in styling hair that Amad and his wonderful staff have mastered. From the minute you enter the salon you are pulled into a relaxing and friendly environment. Always making sure you "the customer" are taken care of, the entire staff is second to none. I have been a client of Amad's for over 4 years. I am thrilled he has his very own successful salon (not on Newbury St.) I would never switch because he always knows the lastest trends in style and color. I have had many stylists over the years but I can't rave enough about Amal! She is incredibly talented both as a stylist and colour tech. She evaluates your face, hair and lifestyle and then makes recommendations of what to do. We just did an amazing colour combination of coppery red with blonde highlights, amazing results. I have received a large number of compliments. I don't hesitate in suggesting Amaci Salon to friends and collegues. Mariam is the best when it comes to threading and waxing. The atmosphere is relaxed and funky. Don't wait to try them out.

I have been seeing Ryan for about 3 years now and no matter what I desire he makes it happen, I bounce back and forth between dark and light, red and gold. It's always perfect! His cuts are equally amazing, even with the bouncing between long and short, he makes the transition as painless and smooth as possible. And he even makes every appointment fun just to be there. The new salon is fun , funky and much more his style. A great move for him.
