HMS Moving Services

We went with HMS because of their guarantee of quality and the fact that they gave us insurance coverage. The pricing was guaranteed and all of the dates and services were detailed in writing. Moving to California is no short hop, so we wanted to make sure that we were well educated. Keith Orlandella, our rep, was patient and extremely professional. Also, he made sure that we knew our insurance options. My husband had been burned before by a long distance mover and I think that he could tell that we were nervous. HMS gave us $10,000 dollars of coverage and also guaranteed the pricing. We had a wonderful experience. As it turns out, we had a small claim on an IKEA shelf. (could have happened to anyone) HMS called within 24 hours and reimbursed my husband's credit card for the full cost of the shelf! No questions asked! The follow up was simply amazing. Start to finish, we felt just so comfortable with this company. I just have to say that out of all movers in the Boston area and probably beyond, not anyone even comes close to these guys. Not even close.

I am an organized person and still found it so helpful to get email reminders and actual phone calls to check up on us! The movers, Mark, Brendan and another gentleman(sorry forgot his name!) were just so wonderful and careful and still speedy. They were just very professional and capable.

We moved from Cambridge, MA to Hoboken, NJ. They packed and loaded up our stuff in one day and delivered everything that next day. We paid $140 less than what we were quoted. Not too bad. Oh, we didn't have to pay until the move was done and everything that we were promised had been completed.
That made my husband and I pretty happy and pretty comfortable as well.

I usually don't sing the songs of praise that easily, but HMS has my vote as one of the best companies in Boston to work with for moving.

I just had to write you to tell you what a great moving experience I had thanks to HMS Moving Services. David and Elvis were prompt, friendly, professional and soooo very speedy! They really knew what they were doing, did it well, and in record time...WOW! All the while with a smile on their faces, which in turn kept a smile on mine on what otherwise could have been a stressful day. It's one thing to be courteous, but they were much more than just that. I would-- AND WILL--recommend HMS Moving Services to anyone!

We moved a small apartment from DC to Boston in mid-August '08 and HMS did a great job all the way around. Keith Orlandella, Owner/Manager, communicated with us during the entire planning, pick-up & delivery process. Their 2 person logistics team was excellent at both ends of the move. We had one small appliance damaged and replacement was covered by HMS. We, without reservation, recommend HMS to anyone considering a personal move of any size. Oh Yes....their estimate, done by phone and e-mail, was highly competitive and the lowest received. While "low balling" can be common in this industry, this was not the case with HMS. Give them your true and accurate estimate of you needs-move size, # rooms, pick-up and delivery timing and they will get the job done at a very competitive cost. Several wardrobes were provided at no-cost and all people I worked with exhibited a "can-do" attitude. At the last moment, Keith provided a 2nd, same-day delivery of misc items to a 2nd Boston area location for a very reasonable rate. Will definitely use them again!

We recently moved our offices within a few miles of each other.. HMS had to deal with last minute changes, added last minute projects like installing 35 nuring stations and Herman Miller office systems furniture. This stuff is hard to install. They stayed from Friday night until Sunday morning! HMS bailed me out and turned what could have been a major disaster (due to our furniture delaer screwing up and the project manager (me!) being new at this.) into a smooth situation.

Great job. Handled all tasks extremely well. Handled the pressure and the long hours extremely well.

I am more than happy to recommend HMS to anyone. This company is a well oiled machine.

Karen and I called 3 movers and got quotes from all of them. H.M.S. is the only company who would come out to our home to provide us with an on site estimate. My wife and I have never had a big move like this before and we were told to get everything in writing. We were a bit nervous. Mark came out on a Saturday morning and printed out a "binding" price right on the spot. GREAT. As soon as he walked in the door, we knew that we would use HMS. The move was from Beacon Hill and was stressful. HMS provided parking permits for about 100 dollars and they hung them up 2 days before the move. They came in and packed every box and then came back the next day and moved it all. They showed up with well dressed and professional looking movers. GREAT. Nice and new truck. GREAT. The price was guaranteed so We never had to worry about it, GREAT. The service was absolutely wonderful. The customer service girl called us before and during the move. GREAT. Every single person with whom we dealt was pleasant and appeared to be very well trained. GREAT. HMS did a very nice job for us and I do not think that we would go with another mover if we ever have to move again.

I was so worried about what kind of movers were going to show up at my house! I contracted this move with Keith Orlandella and H.M.S. last week. Keith came out to my condo in the North End on Sunday morning and printed out my estimate on the spot. The pricing was not the cheapest in town;however, the service was impeccable. The movers were professional, helpful, and experienced.

I can not believe that We almost went with Gentle Giant who cost almost 50% more than these guys. This company gave me everything in writing, guaranteed the price and services and provided me with $1,000 of free insurance.

The move could have been quite painful and there were stairs involved and it was rainy and cold.
The most important thing to us was that nothing was broken and that our newly painted walls remained that way! Nothing broke, nothing was scratched and the movers were so polite and friendly and put up with my stressful moving mood! They padded all of the railings and even protected our floors with cardboard strips.

I just wanted to thank City Search for helping my wife and I find these guys. We will be sure to recommend City Search to our colleagues and friends.

I called HMS after reading a review - here, as a matter of fact. I talked to Keith, who seems to be the owner/manager. He gave me a very reasonable quote - best I could find. The crew was supposed to arrive at our house at 8:30. They finally showed up at 11:15 - they said the truck broke down. Although the movers were friendly, I don't think they had much experience. We had an expensive dresser that two of the workers kept arguing about how to move it - come on guys, decide. They battled each other (and the doorways) until they got it on the truck. More of that kind of stuff throughout the day. The bill came out $600 more than the estimate - what good was that? They did not fix the damage to our front doorwqay, nor have we gotten satisfaction on out dresser. Overall, a bad experience.

I was originally overcharged by my mover, then blown off on moving day! I called H.M.S. and Paul came out to my home at 7:00 p.m. and even quoted me the price that same night by email. The move came in the same as what I was quoted. (Actually 26.00 more) I was very happy with the fact that the movers were truthful, efficient and careful! I would never even think to use another mover. Thanks Paul and H.M.S.!

I contracted with HMS after an exhausting search for a reputable and cost effective mover. They were on time for the in home estimate and also for the packing and moving and delivery. The movers actually knew what they were doing! The best move I have evr had and I have moved a lot!!
