Each and every one of our ingredients is the most important piece of our delicious puzzle. That means from our freshly rolled dough to each one of our savory toppings and cheeses, only the best ingredients are used to create an authentic, thin crust Neapolitan-style pizza that is sure to make your mouth water with anticipation.
I live in the neighborhood. Called in pizza order for pick up at 6 - said it would be ready at 6:30 at which time I was promptly there. At 7 pm - still no pizza - they had given my order to someone else - They offered me store credit !- not my money back and said it was too busy to make another pizza! I asked to speak with manager and she confused me with another customer who was aparently also complaining and mistakenly told me pizza was on the way! Horrible, frustrating experience - went away hungry. And their pizza isn't even that good. Will NEVER go back

The first three times we tried this place, it wasnt very good. The whole wheat crust was dry and not tasty. I am happy to say that today I tried the "slice of the day" spinach, broccoli and feta, though there were only two pieces of broccoli and barely any spinach, the feta cheese made this a very tasty slice. So today, the fourth time we tried, the pizza was good. Glad i tried one more time.

While certainly not the best pizza in Boston (as it has been called), Upper Crust serves us some decent chow if you're willing to put down the money. It's also a great place to hang with friends.

These pizza's do have creative toppings but they are extremely greasy. I had a terrible experience a few months back. After picking up an order and bringing it home I found several BUGS crawling around my pizza that has forever taken away my already small appetite for this place. I complained of course and was mostly ignored but for safety's sake I would stay away or at least ensure that your toppings aren't moving!!

One of the main problems with UpperCrust Pizza in Brookline is the over crowding. I had heard many good things about the pizzeria, but apparently so had everyone else in Boston. After a long wait in line, there was another long wait to get a table, then an even longer wait for the pizza. The pizza itself was not that phenominal either. It was thin and overly greasy. The value was not that great either. The pizza is expensive, especially given that there is nothing to it to distinguish it from a regular Pizza Hut pizza. Over all a disappointing dining experience.
PROS:
CONS: Pricey, Greasy, overcrowded

The Upper Crust has two locations in Boston, on Harvard St. in Brookline and on Charles St. in Beacon Hill (there is also one in Key West, Florida where the owners go to escape the New England winters!). Upon walking in to the Charles Street pizzeria, the customer is wrapped in the smell of baking pizzas and calzones. There is seating along the back wall and 4 or 5 joined tables in the center where strangers sit with strangers. The white walls and steel counter bring to mind your neighborhood pizza joint growing up, and this place certainly is authentic. The menu is basic to start, and leaves room for the customer's imagination to pile on ingrediants. The prices are really good for the gourmet fixings, and they offer free delivery in Back Bay and Beacon Hill. What you will definitely find here is flexibility...for those who are tired of the standard pizza, try a pesto based white pizza. You will not be disappointed.
PROS: prices, taste, location
CONS: not suitable for large parties

Going to Upper Crust can be a great pizza experience, but sometimes it's also a disappointment. The slices at times are large with a generous amount of excellent sauce and great cheese. But sometimes you get a slice that's a bit small with not enough topping on it. The thin crust is always good. The slices are a bit on the pricey side so when they skimp on the sauce and cheese it hurts. But when their slices get it right, they are really good.
This is the best pizza in Boston as far as I'm concerned. They deliver, have great toppings, etc., but the best part here is the crust. Thin, crispy, and irregular edges that really taste great!
I have an account with them since I like them so much, though I don't like the 15% tip they add on to deliveries on account. Who tips a pizza delivery guy 15%?
Pros: great thin crust pizza
Cons: not enough seating!
Excellent pizza, I really love their basic basil, mozz and tomato! They have a number of locations so it's always easy to find one when in need.
I will never go here again even though I live right down the street! They have mixed up or forgotten so many orders. I show up to pick up my pizza and they had given it away to someone else - they offered NO apology, wanted to give me store credit instead of money back, and said they were too busy to rush me another pizza! The pizza isn't even that good. Not worth the frustration
Awesome pizza! A definite stop at any location! They have great toppings, and great quality pizza. Delicious.
The Upper Crust is my absolute favorite place in Coolidge Corner. Everyone knows that their pizza is unbeatable, look in ANY food review source, everyone loves them. What people may not know is the level of dedication they have to their customers. I am their for lunch maybe once or twice a week, the staff is always friendly and always greets me by name, regardless of how busy they are. I've have on more than one occasion seen them run out the door to chase down a customer who has forgotten a belonging, helped mother's with their strollers, and are always willing to take an extra few moments to candidly give their personal menu recommendations. I'll be honest, I love thier pizza, but it's their excellent customer relation skills that will keep me as a loyal customer.
Pros: The service is a excellent as the pizza
Upper Crust is a great name for a pizza place that has a great mix of crispy and chewy crust. High quality eating, but you do pay for it, as it's a bit on the high end, which I suppose should be expected from a place called 'upper crust'. Enjoy
Pros: Great pizza
Cons: a bit pricey
By far the best pizza in Boston. Their wheat crust pizza is outstanding. The staff is always friendly and helpful. A wide variety of toppings and specialty pizzas. I have never once had a bad exoerience at Upper Crust.
Pros: delivery
Cons: none
Pizza was delivered cold, with a crust that was thin, but like cardboard. Skimpy toppings and apparently you need to specify that you want cheese on your pie, since ours came without. New bride says: If this is the best of Boston, I'll eat my pizza in Jersey." There's better pizza everywhere.
Pros: It's pizza
Cons: Overpriced, crust like cardboard, skimpy toppings, need to specify cheese if you want it, delivered cold
I've eaten at the upper crust a few times and ordered delivery as well, and each time the pizza has been decent but the service has been poor. The staff are not very friendly, and everytime I have ordered delivery, it arrives late. I once ordered on a friday night, albeit a busy time, and the pizza hadn't arrived in nearly three hours! I canceled the order and called another pizzeria, which had a pizza at my doorstep twenty minutes later. If you want good pizza and good service, there are much better places in town.
Pros: the pizza is decent
Cons: the service is poor
I love Pizza and Upper Crust is hands down the best pizza in Boston. Truly love their sauce. I usually just go in and get a slice but there are many great pie options as well as pizza on whole wheat.
Pros: great food
Cons: small and sometimes crowded
I was so excited to try this pizza because we moved from NYC and haven't found a good pizza place. This is what people think is good pizza? It tasted like a warm pita bread with canned ingredients. It was rubbery and the crust was tasteless. I won't go back. Upper Crust is WAY overrated!
Cons: Parking, Food, Price
Mmmm! Thin crispy crust, fresh ingredients! This is what Boston has been missing! A bit expensive for pizza, but worth it. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.
Pros: Finally- real pizza in Boston
We used to live in Coolidge Corner and I miss Upper Crust. The pizzas are huge with creative toppings. I love the lunch specials. The pizzas are pricey, but it's worth it to not get the usual bad pizza you find in Boston. I always go here when I'm in the neighborhood.
Pros: Really good pies
Cons: A little pricey
Excellent pizza, the price is a little bit on the expensive side considering it's just pizza, but well worth it. It can get crowded here at times, so be aware.
Pros: Good pizza
Cons: Parking
Upper Crust is amazing! The slices may be a bit expensive, but they completely fill me up! I am so lucky on the nights I go there and see that the Slice of the Day is their Sliced Tomato, Basil and Mozarella. Delicious and totally worth the $3 something dollars.
... I'd hate to see the Unwashed Masses. Generic, haute-ed up pizza with no trace of soul. The only thing Upper is the stratospheric prices: $14.25 for a plain 18 pie (!). Does the pizza quality justify the extra-high price? Not even close: the pizza is plain plebian, pricing notwithstanding.
OK for see and be seen posers, but not people accustomed to real pizza as served elsewhere in Boston (and New York and New Haven).
Pros: Nice TV, beer available
Cons: Long on form, short on substance
I ordered a pizza to be delivered and it took over an hour to arrive COLD!!! Not worth the wait, high price or the hassle. The service needs serious improvement.
Cons: Poor Delivery Service, Pricey, Soggy
A great choice. The seafood pizza is great. They have a wide variety of toppings to choose from. Delivery can be a bit slow sometimes. I'd recommend calling ahead and picking up your pizza yourself. I've waited nearly 2 hours for delivery, but it's worth it if you have something at home to snack on. The pizza is awesome.
Best pizza in Boston whether in Brookline or Beacon Hill. I highly recommend the pizza! It is a little pricier, but comparable to other pizza places in the area. They kept a pizza warm and crisp for 2 hours when my car broke down.
Pros: Quality, Service
I consider myself a regular at the Upper Crust and everytime I go I say the same thing to myself...I should have called it in. The pizza is some of the best in the city. The pies are large and the ingredients are as fresh as they come. The atmosphere is very modern with several tables and large flat screen T.V.'s showing whatever game is on while you wait for your pizza. I enjoy the open kitchen where you can often get a glimpse of pizza's flying through the air. I would definitely recommend the Upper Crust as long as its not during the weekend where waits can top an hour.
Pros: Freshness, modern, location
Cons: long lines, small waiting area
I have been to alot of those places on the list. There is no way Upper Crust shouldn't be in the top 3.
Pros: Taste, Value
This place is wonderful. The crust really is like no other pizza's crust - perfectly crisp and flavorful. The complex, sweet tomato sauce is complemented perfectly by a salty, crisp crust.
Pros: Good pie.
This is by far the best pizza anywhere in Brookline! Thin, crispy crust just like in Italy and a host of fresh, delicious toppings. Why go anywhere else?
Pros: Fabulous Food, Excellent Value, Hip and Happening
This is awesome! I just moved from downtown Boston where I used to eat the Upper Crust pizza religiously. Their crust and toppings are the best around by far! So you can imagine how great it was to find the Upper Crust in Coolidge Corner! Fun place, great staff, and awesome pizza!
Pros: Best pizza!!!
If anyone has been to the Upper Crust on Charles St. in Boston, then you know I know what I am talking about! They have thankfully replaced Vici, and offer the best thin crust pizza you can get! Their pizzas are huge, and everything is super fresh! Definitely worth checking out!
Pros: Great crust, Huge pizzas, Fun place
I am a regular at the Coolidge Corner Upper Crust, and love their pizza. I just tried a new veal parmesean pizza that was delicious! It has a spicier sauce than the normal pizza sauce, but still tasted as sweet! Thumbs up for the new addition!
Pros: Great thin-crust, Fresh toppings, Awesome pizza!
