I guess you can't judge a book by its cover as the exterior of this place is definitely ratty & in need of some paint. That said, the Chicken Pie was to die for, simply excellent. I will be coming back though not too often as even with the $2 coupon it was a touch pricey. I'd still pay full price, but not that often due to it being a costly "home" Dinner. I wish I lived close enough to take advantage of them cooking it for you as that is truly helpful/innovative. The Dinner Rolls purchased there were equally fantastic. I purchased Chicken Salad as well, & feel confident enough in the rest of the products to go five stars without yet trying it.
This place is known for it's homemade chicken pies. They are absolutely outstanding in taste, texture, and smell! They have finally perfected a way to freeze them. You can purchase one frozen, and then pop it in your own oven at home when you're ready. They taste just as good. They also have homemade fruit pies (more my kind of thing than chicken.) Yum!
As the other reviewer stated this is THE place to go to for chicken pot pies I have never seen a restaurant that compares to Harrows for chicken pies. Great location and easy to get to on route 28 and also plenty of parking. Overall quality food but I think they can be kind if pricey for the proportions.
Harrows is a long-standing tradition in the area. They offer chicken pies is all sorts of sizes, to feed 1 or to feed many. They can be bought cold or if you call ahead, they will cook it for you, and you can pick it up and bring it right to your table. They also offer versions with all white meat or mixed and vegetables or no vegetables. These pies are delicious, the crust is always great. The price is average, a bit more than fast food, but way less than a restaurant. They also sell sides to go with your pie (mashed potatoes, etc)
