A small place with BIG TASTE! It is bring your own wine or beer- which saves on the check-We ordered the Louisiana Fried oysters as an appetizer-LOVE THEM! craved more for weeks and got them! For the entree we ordered Chef Wayne's Big Mamou-this was full of flavor on a puff pastry with fresh seafood and the sauce was a perfect creamy flavorful lobster sauce! To finish we had the pecan pie-I'll Have to say -Nobody ever made pie like this - It was an incredible edible! THIS IS THE PLACE TO EAT!

Husband and son recently visited Big Mamou. They are now hooked. The alligator and sausage-with cornbread and the gumbo chicken were highlights. Dress is very casual.

Big Mamou will make you feel like you are in New Orleans. Small place but go with a big appetite. Even if you have to wait outside you feel more than welcome and you have fun while you wait. Chef Wayne is amazing. His food is do die for. He just catered for your Christmas Eve party and we ordered for 40 people and we had enough for 80. His prices are very reasonable. The pulled pork is the best. Can't say enough about this place. Bring your own booze if you do go.This is a must try place.

A favorite place to eat where the livin' is easy. the food is so wonderful and my favorite is the cornbread...I could just eat plates of it!!!! the food is spicy but not too and authentic. The atmosphere is great and the owner pours his heart ans soul into his cooking. Prices are fantastic!!!

Chef Wayne's is excellent. This place rocks. Chef Wayne has his own special sauce. The restaurant is small and you could end up waiting for a half an hour, to an hour. This restaurant is worth the wait. You bring you own beverage and have an excellent time. Chef Wayne and his staff are marvelous, accommodating. Chef Wayne's has real SPICE appeal. Delicious.

The Big Mamou is nothing fancy but boy do they know how to cook. This is a BYOB restaurant so feel free to bring in a bottle of wine for your meal. The menu is a nice selection of spicy ethnic canjun.

As a true Louisianian living in MA, this is where I go if I want my fix of real Cajun food. The etouffee is my favorite, but everything I have tried here makes me think of home. For desert, don't miss the sweet potato pie. This place is small, so you may have to wait for a table. It is definitely worth it!

The Bib Mamou is an extraordinary place. This downtown Springfield restaurant is across the street from the main post office. Lunch is very reasonably priced with entrees averaging about $8 or so. I love the pork which is served with a spicy sauce. Yummy!

Chef Wayne and his staff know how to do southern food. They have crawfish, shrimp, taliapa and alligator when in season. It its small with only a handful of tables and waiting is common. It is so worth the wait though. The place has a homey feel and has won many accolades in the local papers. The Phantom Gourmet has even rated it highly. They don't have a liquor license but you can bring your own alcohol, just remember to share with Wayne if he is there.
