In ShortFounded in 1901 in Chicago by Charles R. Walgreen Sr., this neighborhood pharmacy has grown to be one of the nation's largest drugstore chains. Each store carries 25,000 different items--from cleaning products to electronics and greeting cards. Store features include a computerized system connecting pharmacies nationwide via satellite, grocery-store food aisles, one-hour photofinishing and an automated phone system for prescription refills and pre-arranged pickup times. I use this Walgreens for all of my prescriptions. The pharmacist is so helpful and knowledgeable. He is friendly and even though they're quite busy, he's always taken time to answer my questions and has come with me into the aisles to show me his recommended items.
I also think Walgreens has great sales, so watch the weekly circulars and their rebate booklet at the front of the store.
They also offer a senior prescription card that has helped my mom save quite a bit on her medications.
