I have had nothing, but the best experience at Assonet animal hospital. The staff is wonderful and patient and so informative! They love what they do and and it shows in the quality of the care my dogs have received. I wouldn't take them any where else and I live north of Boston!
A lot has changed at this hospital since 2005. It used to be great when Dr. Jonas was there. (He was forced to retire due to illness). The new owner is money hungry. I was not dealt with honestly when my dog became terminally ill and was led to believe he had lots more time if I treated him. End result: I spent over $3,000 in 10 months and he died anyway. I was never offered any payment plan for expensive tests or anything else for that matter. The day we put my dog to sleep he wanted me to do another $300 ultrasound on his liver to "see if this was really the end". The sad part is my dog's liver failure may have been contributed to by their policy not to give Lyme Disease vaccines or even test for the disease on a regular basis. The staff and supporting vet are really nice people, but the vet that owns it sets the tone. I now use another hospital that does vaccinate & test for Lyme (my younger dog already was a "low positive"). I won't go back there.
Great people to work with. They truly love the animals and their jobs. They are very caring in those tough decisions that sometime accompany pet ownership. They are always willing to work with you on a payment plan if you can't afford something that your pet needs to have. The whole staff is very friendly.
