The John Jeffries House is an elegant 46-room bed and breakfast inn located in the heart of Boston. There are many reasons to choose the John Jeffries House for your home-away-from-home: Our historic Beacon Hill location is within walking distance to the Charles River, Boston Common, the Museum of Science, Faneuil Hall Marketplace and the Fleet Center. Our low room rates are a refreshing alternative to those of Boston's modern high-rise hotels. Most rooms include a kitchenette complete with refrigerator, stove and microwave, giving you the flexibility to prepare some of your own meals during your stay. The inn's beautiful detailing, the flower garden, reproduction furnishings, original molding and period artwork, create a warm and welcoming ambience. The John Jeffries House offers a variety of accommodations from charming single rooms to spacious deluxe suites.
Beautifully detailed place to stay! Bigger than your regular bed and breakfast. They can accomodate families or just singles. The common room was very welcoming and the food was just out of this world. Highly recommend this place!

This is the best place to stay as far as I know. I used to stay here whenever I came to Boston. Very cheap with decent service (don't expect frills). Just steps away from Red Line, which is very important for those doing business with Harvard or MIT. Access from Logan is also great because it stands just off a ramp from Strow Drive. Don't miss a morning stroll along Charles River if you stay here. In any case I don't think it's worth paying for the expensive rooms around Copley.
Pros: Inexpensive, Locations

Location, location, location! This hotel is right in the heart of Beacon Hill, steps from the red line and MassGeneral Hospital. It is located on a small side street right off the corner of Charles and Cambridge Streets and is very cheap compared to its peers in the area. The staff is very friendly - the service personal. The rooms are small, but nice. They validate parking at the nearby Charles Street garage. Only bummer was the included breakfast: plan on catching brunch at nerby Panificio if you like to start the day w/ a big meal!
Pros: value, location, friendly staff
Cons: breakfast, room size

"Nice club, great performers, but the "200-seat" capacity cited in the description ..."
