Well worth a detour or special occasion meal.
by Art F.
Traveling through Springfield from our vacation in NH, my wife and I stopped here and were very glad we did. It is well worth a detour. Waitresses in dirndls and knee stockings, steins of imported German beer, and an excellent wine list. Many table side preparations and large portions rejuvenating a time when dining out meant fresh, delicious food in large quantities and not a plate that looks like a Monet painting but leaves you hungry. Wunderbar!

Great Dinner & Brunch!
by Melissa S.
I visited the Hofbrauhaus for dinner a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed both the dinner and the service. The Caesar salad prepared table side was my favorite! The service was friendly and efficient, no complaints. I also attended their Sunday brunch the week after and that was absolutely amazing! They had a great selection of salads and hot items, and also an omelet station where I was able to customize my own omelet. The dessert selection wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but what was there, was delicious. I would definitely recommend it for $15!

BAD FOOD. HEFTY PRICES
by Anthony S.
The service at the Hofbrauhaus was very good, but the menu was limited, the food was awful, and the prices were a joke.
The menu has far too few choices and amazingly, this is the only German restaurant I've ever seen with only 2 varieties of sausage. Astounding, given the fact Germans have over 1500 varieties.
I ordered a plate consisting of 1 knock-wurst, 1 bratwurst, 1 pork chop, sauerkraut, and German potato salad. Both the wurst were bland and spongy. Nothing at all like the great German sausages I've had at Munich Haus. The pork chop was ok, but at $22, It was hardly worth the extra $8 they charge for it (The plate is also offered without the chop for $14). The potato salad was ghastly. Just plain potatoes, slathered in too much mustard, flavorless and unappealing in every way. The sauerkraut was not equally as bad, but wasn't great either.
A waste of $50 for overpriced slop. I spent the next 2 hours listening to my date complain about the $15 pizza she had originally suggested for dinner. I should have taken her advise.
If you know German food, Hofbrauhaus is sure to disappoint. If you've never had German food. a trip here will surely give you the wrong impression of it.

My wife and I went to dinner there on one of our night sout and the food was good. Nothing that I can remember in any detail, but good. The service was a little slow as another reviewer mentioned. I remember the desert being very good though.

I liked the stmosphere in this restaurant but was not impressed with the prices. The food was good but we were caught off guard when asked if we wanted a chef's salad with our meal after ordering, no indication that they were $8 extra a piece until our bill arrived. OUCH!

My husband and I ate here for our Anniversary in November. He ordered some sort of Schnitzel, and I ordered Sauerbraten. We both had delicious dinners and it was a great atmosphere. I went back in December for a large Christmas party and it was a little different outcome. I ordered the Sauerbraten again. Now I don't really know for sure what Alpo tastes like, but this had to be close to it. Even the texture was nasty. A co-worker next to me was pretty disappointed also. So I guess it depends on who the cook is that day?

We went for a Christmas party and waited a long time for the food to be served. It was way overcrowded and difficult to move around. The food when it came was okay, but I won't go back I am sure.

The Hofbrauhaus is an excellent German restaurant in an area that seems to have more than their fair share of Italian restaurants. The food is excellent but the service can be slow. The endings are excellent... Black Forest Cake and Apple Strudel are my favorites.

Prost!!
by Brewster R.
A truly enjoyable dining experience! My family has shared many occasions at Hofbrauhaus and have never had a complaint. From a 30th Wedding Anniversary in a private room, Holiday family feasts, Easter Brunch, Sunday Brunch, Game Fests, to siting in the bar enjoying the fine beer selection with an order of deviled eggs the restaurant has failed to disappoint!! The service is great! It's always nice to get a visit at your table from the Owner, as well. Overall, a visit to Hofbrauhaus is well worth the trip for great German dining!!

We have enjoyed many New Years Eve celebrations at this family German restaurant. The beautiful atmosphere and coziness of the facilities is hard to beat. I love the Weiner Snitzel as well as the sumptuous desserts. .

They offer the best German food in our area. There is an extensive beer menu with helpful descriptions. They have nice wines as well. A band plays some nights and the desert cart can not be missed. Table side service for flaming desserts is available but must be ordered at the beginning of the meal, so save room!

If you are looking for authentic German food this is the place to go. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are in Germany. The dinning experience is amazing. There is enough wail time where you are not getting too full in between courses. I love it. I recommend their apple wood pork chops!

the hofbrauhaus serves authentic German cuisine in a setting that reminds you of a German chalet. The food is excellent and the selection of beers is outstanding.
