This place is amazing for the location and price! It is a small hotel but the rooms are large, the beds are very comfortable, and the staff were friendly. It is very close to the heart of Boston and worth the price. We will definitely stay here again.

If you want to be near Fanueil Hall, this would be a good choice. They recently renovated all the rooms, and they did a nice job. But they're certainly not big. We had a "cityview" room, and it was freezing. So they moved us to an interior room, which faced the open balcony, and was noisy. The tiny lobby is a front desk and a table with some coffee. That's about it. The room itself was clean, the bathroom was very basic. When we got back after dinner, we noticed someone had spilled some food onto the floor of the elevator. So it rode up with us to our floor. That was nice. Not sure what's so romantic about this place. It's probably best if you're not planning to spend much time in the hotel.

I have been here once before and I thought it was so pretty and the rooms are so clean and big it was so nice to stay at and I told myself I would come back if I had too its great here. I paid at that time $100 and that was not too long ago. It is very clean and when you walk in you know you will have a happy stay here.

I stayed at the Harborside Inn of Boston for two nights with my husband. The Inn is very romantic and we had a wonderful time. The staff is some of the nicest people I have ever met. They called us by name and made sure we had everything we needed. They made dining suggestions that were right on the mark. It is also inexpensive at about $116.00 a night. I can't wait to go back again!

PROS: friendly people, romantic, inexpensive
CONS: none

I am planning a trip back and looking into hotels and to see the Harborside Inn on top of any list is shocking. But then I realized that that was why I stayed there in August. So I want point out a few of the reasons why the hotel was sub par in my opinion. First we get there and boxes are everywhere making some places to tight to roll my bag. This by the way cannot fit 2 suitcases in the closet because the rooms are extremely large for Boston but the closets were made way to small. Why not put some of the space to use.
It also worried us when we saw a fan in the closet. This is because the nice sized room (with plenty of dead space) had a very small vent in the corner next to the windows that the maid service wouldn't keep the shades closed when we left in hopes of keeping some of the heat down. You will need the fan. And I could not open the windows in our room which is where the fire escape was.
The Bathroom also plenty big had nothing but the sink and back of the toilet to put anything. A shelf under the sink would be a nice use of space. I cannot think of any reason to not at least put a hook on the back of the door or a couple on the wall in the main room either.
The Inn has plenty of potential. It is a converter warehouse. It is in a great location right behind Faneuil Hall Marketplace where I always seem to end up, and right next to a T stop. It is a easy walk to the Harbor Walk and the North End.
However, I stayed there 3 months ago and still hate that in all the things I read about it none it said how it was such a bad room. I had a deal with in $150 in the Back Bay and am still wishing I would have taken it.

Pros: Location

Cons: Room Quality, Bad A/C, No Service, Poor Bathroom, Over Hyped

Stayed here twice. Last time on 11/19/05. The room faced the side street with a bar next door that exuded a noise level beyond any city noise I have ever heard. We did not fall asleep until almost 3am. It sounded like the patrons were right in the room with us. The manager apologized but would not make any monetary restitution. I stayed there last year and our window faced inside to an atrium and a wedding was going on until late. Noisy once again but no where near the front room. Location is fabulous but not worth losing sleep over.

Pros: proximity to attracti

Cons: noise, no in room coffee, small

I looked online for a hotel close to the action, I was excited at first about my reservation, which I made over the phone. The hotel took down the wrong day for my reservation, charged my credit card, and then when I called to fix it, they had no record. They continually told me I was wrong. They can't work the credit card machine. Then when I requested a wake up call for 10:30am, I was shocked that they called at 7am. This was supposed to be a leisurely, romantic trip for my birthday and I was very dissappointed in the quality of service especially since we are paying about $200 a night. The rooms were cute and close to the action but after the experience at check in, not worth the effort. I would recommend considering another hotel with a better reputation.

Pros: Close to Fanuiel Hall

Cons: Service

We checked out what seemed like every boutique style hotel or bed and breakfast in Boston before staying at the Harborside Inn. As soon as I saw the location of the hotel and our room, I knew we had chosen well. The wireless internet access throughout the hotel was great, but a little rocky due to the brick walls. The rooms were very clean and wonderfully decorated. My only complaints were that access via car was complicated by the Big Dig construction and that we accidentally left behind a couple of things in the room that were not found even though I called the same afternoon that we checked out. Also, we had a city view room facing the street that was pretty loud until the bars closed down. Overall, the hotel was a great value and I would stay there again next time I am in town.

Pros: Great Value, Great Decor, Location!

Cons: Construction, Bar noise

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Harborside and would return in a heartbeat. The staff was warm, friendly and always remembered my name, where I came from, etc. Also, they went out of their way to make dining and entertainment recommendations. If you are visiting Boston stay there!
