One of the city's elite restaurants, Radius is the establishment of choice for the nearby Financial District's deal makers and power brokers. Patrons enjoy an unparalleled level of service, whether feasting in the sleek, minimalist dining room or tipping back a cocktail in the stylish lounge. The modern French menu is the definition of sophistication; intricate, whimsical dishes that draw heavily on current trends and local, seasonal ingredients. Typical of the starters is the foie gras a la Radius, whose presentation changes nightly. For a standout entree, leave room for the slow-roasted rib-eye with Robuchon potatoes, haricots verts, pearl onions and red wine sauce.

The Inside Scoop

  1. Know Before You Go - While there's no official dress code, wear your best duds or you'll stick out like a stale brioche.
  2. Where to Sit - Dining alone? Don't fret: A long communal table to the side of the dining room is ideal for single diners.
  3. Save Money - At stellar price points, Radius offers a three-course lunch prix-fixe a three-course dinner prix-fixe, with rotating menus.
  4. When to Go - Bite into top burger in the country (beating even Shake Shack at the 2008 Burger Bash at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival) at Radius during lunch service. Beef, aged cheddar, crispy onions and horseradish sauce equals victory.
  5. What to Drink - Bar patrons: Don't skip the divine apple martini (made with hand-pressed Granny Smith apple juice) or a tasty, Southern-style mint julep.
  6. Fun Fact - Visitors to the downstairs bathrooms pass by an impressive, nationally recognized wine cellar.

Exquisite Experience @ Radius!

by rc419

I took my boyfriend to Radius for his birthday, and I have to say that it was really a great experience. The wait staff was so attentive - almost to the point of being TOO attentive - making sure nothing was ever empty and the table always spotless. We had the 9-course sampler menu, and although I thought the wait between courses was a bit long (we were there over 3 hrs), it was definitely worth it, as I am dying to go back and experience at least 4 of the courses as a full entree. By the time dessert came, I was full but still managed to fit in the creme brulee I was served, which was heaven. Definitely a great place to go, and I will DEFINITELY be back!

Elegance by Accident

by Proofwell

While on a Boston business trip, I walked in here by accident. I knew nothing of Radius's mystique or reputation. Am I glad I went in! Though I was dining alone, the staff made me feel SO welcome. They brought me newspapers to read and even offered to bring out the sous chef, who was from my home town, to meet me. I will forever be grateful for their welcome -- and the food was wonderful too!

Pros: Gracious service, Downtown location

Cons: Expensive

i've always loved clio and mistral, but radius felt so adult... we did a six-course tasting (although I think there were more like eight), and the food was the best i've had in boston. we did the wine pairings as well, which were amazing, and out waiter was perfectly helpful, but not a pain. we were so impressed we made reservations for this saturday night, too.

Best of Boston

by fishguy

Radius is a true delight. For a casual night at the bar or night of fine dining, Radius is the place to go. I have enjoyed many meals and drinks at Radius. The last time I ate at Radius I had the Chefs nine course tasting menu. Everything was great, but the scallop tasting, and the foie gras dsihes were exceptional. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The desserts are by far the best that I have had in this city, or any other for that matter. And finally, the service was fast, knowledgable, and helpful. RADIUS RULES!!

Pros: Great food, Beautiful dining room, sexy women

Cons: Too expensive to go, every night

A true fan

by foodie2000

I rarely respond to things like this but, I go out to eat about 3 or 4 times a week and I was suprised at the previous persons thoughts on Radius. I have eaten there many times and every one has been a delight. The service and food are the best in the city. The only negative thing I could say is it can get a little noisy on busy nights otherwise, just fabulous!

Pros: service, food, room

Cons: noise when busy

This is the place to go for a very special event. It's quite pricey, but well worth the money. From the moment you enter, this place just evokes class!! Take a moment and enjoy one of their heavenly wines at the bar before your seating. From their appetizers to their entrees to your last course, you will enjoy every mouthful. The service and attention you will receive will be long remembers which certainly adds to a special occasion. When I go there, I always try to order their rabbit or poultry entree. It is the best in the city!!!

Pros: attentive service

Cons: crowded

I have eaten at Radius a number of times. It is truly the best place in town. The service and food are amazing...dates and clients are always impressed! The room is by far the most metropolitan in Boston...competes with the best in the country. I suggest trying it if you have not already, I think you will be suprised by it's understated elegance and sublime food.

Pros: unpretentious, great room, unbelievable food

Underrated!

by LarryRand

I completely disagree with the previous review. Radius has been nothing but glowing in my experiences. The decor is sleek and different than other places in town. The food is fantastic, but does on occassion need salt. That's my only bone to pick, and that's not bad! The absolute greatest thing about Radius is by far the SERVICE. It has always been impeccable and beyond any expectation.

Pros: service, intelligence

Radius Overrated

by adlsl

I can not understand the fuss over Radius. Went there with my wife and family for the first time to celebrate her birthday and could not have had a worse, or more expensive, time. Micro portions of expensive food, inattentive service, ugly room, and mediocre food. While the soup and salad were interesting, the expensive salad was gone in one bite. The slab of meat they served me was poorly trimmed, lacked the advertised flavor, and was not property cooked. My wife and son had different dishes but they also lacked any imagination and failed to live up to the glowing description on the menu. The waiter was too busy fawning over a large, obnoxious, drinking party at the next table and never returned with the bread we requested. The dining room had a amateurish drop ceiling that made the room look unfinished.

Pros: bathrooms

Cons: small portions, very expensive, poor service
