Great Italian Seafood

This location is great. It's really lovely to sit by the water, but be warned it can get fairly windy. One of my favorites is the clam chowder. It's not as thick and creamy as the canned kind that everyone tries to imitate. You can actually taste the clams. I've tried several main dishes, and they were all excellent. Also there's less of a wait than at the original location, which is a bonus.

This place has the freshest seafood dishes at this storefront eatery in the North End. Dishes often pair a heavy garlic, butter and cream sauce with trout, salmon, shrimp and scallops and they are delicious. My favorite is the spicy lobster fra diavolo and calamari. The restaurant serves beer and wine. Prices are reasonable.

I was surprised to find the original has a new location. I absolutely love this authentic Italian seafood restaurant. They have plenty of fresh shellfish dishes over pasta.

The Worst restaurant in Boston
by ivan77
Our family decided to grab a lunch during Sail Boston 2009, Daily Catch seemed to have smaller line then other places ?
We joined a line that turned out to be just a line to get your name on the list. The hostess completely ignored the line and were more preoccupied with cleaning the tables. After about 20 minutes of being ignored and have not moved up a line even a bit (well not entirely true as some people have left the line) my wife went straight to her and succeeded in getting out name on the list. We were told that the wait is 30 minutes that actually turned out to be over an hour wait, but it is understandable on such a busy event. When we got to the table we had to wait 15 minutes for the waiter to arrive. The guy showed up with an attitude and aggravated. We started to place an order? to our surprise all we were looking to order was not available. For the calamari platter they did not have 3 out of 4 types of calamari. To my wife?s question what do they substitute the unavailable items with, we got even more aggravated response. We ended up leaving this place without being served. Wished we read reviews before going there. Overall experience was terrible. Terrible service. Do not go there! Don?t waist your money!
Pros: location
Cons: service, food, staff

Food not as good as the one at North End
by sparrowwithabell
The ambience of this new location is nicer and bigger. However, the service was very slow. The black pasta came out wasn't really al denta, a bit hard. The monkfish masala was also not good, the one at North End so much better. But, the lobster fra diavolo was very good though, the portion was larger than that at North End. More lobster meat.
Overall, I prefer to go back to North End.
Pros: Ambience, spacious
Cons: Slow, food not as good as the Daily Catch at North End

Awesome seafood
by Celts
The daily catch is one of the best places in boston for seafood. I have been to this location and the north end location. I love the one in the north end because its tiny, you always get a good meal from a spot this small. I had the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and I had fish for dinner. Both were excellent. I would highly recommend the daily catch for seafood.
Pros: seafood, service
Cons: non

absolutely TERRIBLE!

Had a corporate function here because of the ideal location and the food was tasty. However, when our party arrived at the event, tables & bars weren't even set-up yet. Once they were ready, we waited almost 2 hours before the buffet was ready. About 50 people had been served when the servers ran out of food! They went back in the ktichen to continue cooking. Now 2/3 of our party has yet to eat. They eventually came out with more food but we were now being served random food items that were NOT in the contractual agreement. Our busses bringing us back to our company were awaiting and we ended up leaving a half hour late with about 1/3 of our employees leaving hungry. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone booking a corporate event. Very poor service. We spent a significant amount of money at this event and experienced very rude and unprofessional service. I have never experienced customer service this poor. I'm surprised they are still in business.

Most expensive caesar salad in town for lunch.....
by toddbeal23
We went there for lunch and they charge their caesar salad for $13 with with only 3 small shrimps.
We asked the manager why they cutdown the shrimps to 3 ( it used to be at least 5 shrimps) - he said they just changed their summer menu....
He even suggested that a regular shrimp cocktail is $2.50 a piece and its reasonable priced for their 3 shrimps caesar salad...Wow!!
Pros: plenty of tables to choose, but I guess nobody goes there anymore...
Cons: very expensive place for lunch....

Delicious Italian Seafood and beautiful view!
by jactu
Delicous delicious food - calamari, littlenecks, fish stew, black pasta, lobster fra diavolo, mussels etc etc. The food is so fresh. I love that it is Italian too! The owners/staff are so welcoming too. And check out this gorgeous view-could be one of the best I've ever seen in Boston. Easy parking or walk. Once you find it, you will go back!!
Pros: Delicious Italian Seafood...Gorgeous View

Amazing View, Amazing Food
by jjgreenleaf
One of the most lovely patios in Boston for Al Fresco dining. Try the Monkfish Marsala--delicious! The calamari is light, tender and crisp. Also highly recommend the Sicilian clams (Vongole) in red sauce. Very friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!
Pros: Very fresh fish, unique menu items, lovely setting. Easy parking.
Cons: None! Just go and enjoy!

this location is different than the others
by enenen
the outdoor patio was way to windy, so we opted for indoors. waiters were really young and possibly not very experienced-- they instructed us to sit down at a large table, but left it ambiguous whether we were waiting for a smaller table or would be allowed to stay at that one. perhaps because of that-- service took longer than expected. our grilled tuna was cooked medium, not rare as requested, but the calamari platter meal was very very good-- if you like calamari :)
Pros: tender fried calamari, casual atmosphere
Cons: service slow, meals not balanced or healthy

Great Food - Sketchy Service
by joedinner
We always pardon the sketchy service at The Daily Catch because the food is so good. You know the old saying about restaurants is that you can only fail in one of the big 3 items: service, food, or price. Any 2 way combination failures and the establishment is doomed. We predict restaurant closings all the time with this formula. The food is great and worth the wait - long live The Daily Catch.
Pros: Calamari, Monk Fish, Red & White Sauce
Cons: Slow service
