While most of the produce and some of the products at Wholefoods can be very good (if not pricey) you must keep in mind Wholefoods is in business to make money. They have found a market to exploit, and they do exploit the 'natural foods' market. That being said, the specific products they sell are generally less expensive at Wholefoods than the same products at a conventional grocery store in their 'natural foods' sections.Trader Joe's usually beats them with a lower price for most of the things they carry in tandem though.

When so-called 'Wholefoods' bought out Bread & Circus in the NorthEast, they brought in a slew of white flour and white sugar products that Bread & Circus would not carry. So much for "whole" foods, eh? I much preferred the old Bread & Circus where there was no white sugar at all and no baked good was less than at least half whole grain flour.

I worked at a Wholefoods when it was still called 'Bread & Circus' here in Massachusetts for 3 years in the late 1990's, and while many of the people who work there are good, knowledgeable people, the higher-ups are definitely in this to make as much money as they can.

So "Whole"foods is a mixed bag. They carry products I do buy there as they can be less expensive than other stores, their produce is generally very good, but some stuff is better priced at Trader Joe's and other stores. If you're looking for actual 'whole' foods as far as baked goods go, it can be a challenge amongst the plethora of white flour and white sugar there.

It is always a treat to shop at Whole Foods. They carry mostly organic produce, as well as their own store brand of other organic products. The cheese section, though smaller than some other Whole Foods I've been to, has plenty of wonderfully unique cheeses, and the staff really knows their stuff. They are extremely pleasant and helpful.

Outstanding fresh food selection. Good, though pricey, meat and seafood assortment. Great prepared foods and bakery options. A fantactic place, though mostly organic foods on the shelves, so depending on your tastes.... Good parking lot.
