This is pkace is great. They have everythinag and anything. my friend got a whip there..even though it broke, it was cheap. There shows are great, they have so many funny costume things. Need green eye lashes? go to dorothys!

Dorothy's might be known as that place on Mass Ave that always has the line wrapped around the block on Halloween day. It is so much more than that! Although, I have waited in the Halloween day line, I have also gone to Dorothy's at other parts of the year to find some pretty great stuff. The accessories and shoes are like none you will find anywhere else and so cheap! I recommend giving it a look any day, and most definitely get there early for Halloween costume supplies.

This place has everything-- funky costumes, shoes, wigs, jewelry, and a nice selection of club wear and shoes. Prices are decent to expensive, depending on what you're looking to buy. I stop in Dorothys once every couple weeks to see if there are any new deals to be had. They often have good shoe sales, and a decent selection. The owner is great, and will talk to you about what the shop was like years ago.
PROS: Good selection
CONS: Can be pricey

This store is so much fun! I came in for a wig (fantastically priced!) and spent a good hour browsing their shoes, costumes, and other trinkets... Everyone was quick to help me and very helpful. A VERY hip store...

I go to Dorothy's and only Dorothy's for my wigs. They have an amazing selection of synthetic, human hair, novelty and everyday wigs. If you're not headed to the Garment District for your wigs, try Dorothy's. The staff will let you try them on and even style and cut them for you for an additional fee!
Pros: Amazing wig, makeup and costume selection.
Cons: Customer service can be gruff.

this place is atrocious. the men who work there have no customer service skills. when disputing an item that i ordered and didn't come in i was actually cursed at, which i won't repeat here. do boston a favor and let it go out of business by going somewhere else. people like that don't deserve your business and you don't deserve the aggravation.

If you're more of a browser than an actual customer, or even if you have been a customer for who knows how long, it would not matter, because I was recently accused by the manager/owner of the store of shoplifting a pair of earrings from the store when I wasn't even in the store the day he said that I had committed the crime. I was embarrassed because he confronted me in front a store full of people and my younger sister without taking me aside, and irritated because when I asked for proof, he denied me and said that "...I just don't trust you, and you have stucky fingers..." I can honestly tell you that as long as I have been going there, about eight or nine years, I have never had any intentions of shoplifting or stealing. Their merchandise could easily be found in other establishments and aren't really worth shoplifting. A few of my other friends whom I've known for years have also been victim to this false accusation and I have been with all of them when it happened. So please, take my advice, and DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!
Pros: Okay selection of wigs and footwear, diverse staff
Cons: Browsers are always under suspicion, no matter if that is all they're doing or not.

I have been shopping at Dorothy's for almost 17 years. I have found the staff to be the friendliest and most helpful out of any wig store i have ever stepped foot into. They are so open minded and helpful. I recomend them highly. Keep up the great job guys. See you soon

I'm not even bothering to go in because they refused to say anything to me except their hours over the phone and would not talk to me to answer my question as to whether they had a specific item, which would have required a yes or no answer.
