Reviews for Diesel Cafe

The food here was dee-lish. There are wraps, sandwiches, and lots of lite lunchy type foods. I had a veggie wrap with an Oddawalla smoothie and felt so healthy and good when finished. The atmosphere is so relaxing and chill, good for studying, writing, chatting, or just hanging out idly talking with some friends. There is some cool ass art on the walls and the servers are funky and witty. A friend and I played Magic for about two hours without a funny face or disdainful word from anyone.

Ratings_icons hip cafe and coffee shop in davis square

Jesse L. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,074

Diesel is a pretty hip and somewhat expensive cafe/coffee shop in Davis square that seems to be quite popular with the GLBT set. This place is remarkably large. Large enough that it could easily be transformed into a club. Try the raspberry lime rickey and the avocado salad and look for the board games cabinet. Nothing like a good game of yahtzee / monopoly / scrabble / chess / checkers /boggle / etc!"

PROS: good food, nice atmosphere
CONS: loud, expensive

This cafe has the best quality espresso machine around and the baristas really make such good espresso drinks. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

If you're into punk grrls and lesbians, let it all hang out here! Great menu selection of beverages, reasonably priced, cute, friendly servers and prime watching space from the front of the place. Lots of everyone walking by, some stop to smoke or wait for people, when it's warm, they open the garage door and you're right out there with the pedestrians.

Diesel is by far the best coffeehouse in Davis - both in terms of food, drink, and atmosphere. The quality of the coffee drinks is definitely better than Starbucks, and the wraps and salads are also delicious. Whether you're going out with friends, playing pool, or studying, Diesel is the perfect environment. Also, they just added a new back room which creates a lot more space.
