Bella Sante's interior is decidedly pampering and intentionally calming, with plush sofas and chairs for those waiting. Patrons are required to turn off cell phones and pagers; loud voices are strongly discouraged--and children aren't allowed. Day-spa standards, plus acupuncture and acupressure treatments, are offered. The variety of facials available include green tea, spirulina algae facials and oxygen. Hydrotherapy and steam rooms, various massages, nail (manicures and pedicures) and waxing services and packages are also available.

Pampering Galore

by D. V. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,159

I recently got a 50 minute massage at Bell Sant Spa. From the minute that I entered the spa, I was treated professionally and kindly by the staff. The staff members that I encountered were helpful and made me feel welcomed as a guest. I did not feel that anyone acted snobbish or rude. My massage was relaxing and definitely needed. My masseuse was attentive and did a fantastic job. I thought the facility was very sanitary and the spa in general was very organized. I have been to both Bella Sant locations in Boston and Lexington and have really enjoyed both my experiences. I would absolutely get another massage at this location.

PROS: Very organized and clean facility, great massages, great location

Bella Sante

This is a great place for a day of pampering. Granted the prices are a bit extravagant but if you can afford to splurge a bit on yourself for a day of relaxation, then it is definitely well worth it. I had a massage here not too long ago and it was 80 minutes of pure heavenly bliss.

Relax! (But Make Sure You Bring $$)

by Candice C. | top100 Top100 | Rank: 95

Bella Sante is an amazing Spa in Boston. My sister and I try to go here at least once a year. The spa services are amazing. The pampering is awesome. The staff makes you feel so welcome, and treats you like royalty. Unfortunately, they are very expensive as compared to other spas-- Which is why my sister and I only go once a year. If you feel like you want to splurge on yourself for some spa treatments, check this place out.

PROS: great staff, awesome treatments, great location
CONS: expensive

Feel Good Pampering

by Anne B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,803

A great ascpect of this spa is not only the pampering you recieve upon arrival, but the fact that it is open until 9 tuesdays through Fridays. That mean if you work until 7 every week day, like me, you can still experience the wonderfulness of complete massages and facials, etc. Unfortunately, they are a bit expensive, even moreso than regular spas. I have never had a problem with customer service, or been treated poorly.

PROS: Expensive
CONS: Feels good

ONLY PLACE TO GET EYEBROWS DONE!!

by curshaw

Alex Quiros.... That is the girl you need to see. If you want the eyebrows that everyone wants, then she is your girl. She is methodical, and takes her time. I am always amazed when it's over, and I look in the mirror. It's like a mini face lift!!
Not only that, but the facials are amazing as well. The best part of the facial is the massage of my neck and shoulders.
Such a pretty place, and I always feel like someone special. I don't have a lot of money, but this is the place I will splurge a bit, and it's always so worth it. I've been to other spa's in Boston, nothing compares.

Pros: professional, attentive, great products

Cons: can't think of even one

Alex for Facials

by sarjustice

alex at bella sante on newbury st. has been doing my facials for a couple of years now and i won't see anyone else. alex is extremely knowledgeable and takes a genuine interest in your skin's health, all the while making the experience relaxing. my skin has had it's up and downs and alex has always helped me through and has made great product recommendations. she does not simply recommend the most expensive products and will help build a skincare regimen to fit any budget. i go to alex both for my skin's well-being as well as to relax so it's truly a worthwhile experience worth every penny!

Pros: professional, relaxing, great results

Absolutely Amazing

by Nova7064

I've made it a tradition to treat myself to a visit to Bella Sante every year on my birthday. Unfortunately, this year, I got a sweet boot on my car the morning of my appointment. Thanks, Somerville. When I called to let the spa know I would be late because I had to find alternate transportation, they were extremely accommodating. Everyone expressed sympathy when I got there and on my way out, not only did I get my usual birthday goodie bag, but someone had run out during my massage and facial and got me a birthday balloon! The staff completely turned my day around and of course, the massage and facial were amazing. I love this place!

Pros: you soul will be renewed after you leave this place

Cons: none

I visted Bella Sante for a Spa Facial this past weekend. The facial was fantastic My skin was glowing and still looks and feels great. I had specifically requested Jackie P. based upon a review that she received on City Search and I am so glad that I did. She was very knowledgeable and professional. I recommend trying her and she's definitely has a new customer in me!

Average Spa--Pedicure Experience from Hell

by Majshy

I decided to indulge myself in the $60 basic pedicure at Bella Sante on Newbury today during my week off from work. I had a $100 giftcard and was ready for some pampering.

I was horrified at the experience that took place for the hour that I surrendered myself to the "SPECIALIST" pedicurist. The spa pedicure was a quick 30 min tops, not the 60 min "miracle treatment" as promised. The pedicurist was snippy with me from the moment I greeted her and to be frank I could not understand what the heck she was even saying. During our time together she managed to soak my feet in cold water, shoot me dirty looks especially when looking at the bottom of my heel after my cold water soak and to my request to cut my nails shorter.

She completely skipped the massage part of the service, jumping from the loobing of my leg/foot to quickly whipping it off with a towel. oh and here's the best part. They don't have foot dryers so after slapping on some polish, she sat me in the waiting room and left.

I have had better service for $20 at a local salon. The main reason that I am so turned off is that my spa professional had a real air about her, she made me feel guilty that my old polish was still on, that I dry skin and that I took her up on her offer to bring me a cup of tea.

I was majorly disappointed. I was so excited about my spa day, and instead found myself thrilled to finally breathe some relief when the elevator doors closed upon my exit.

I have $40 left on my card and will hope to redeem it at another location.

PS. you can't tip on the gift card.

Pros: clean

Cons: snippy staff, no parking, pricey for poor service

Finally an Oasis in the burbs!!

by TESSAspa27

Wow! This was my first time to the Wellesley location and I was swept away with the tranquil setting and luxurious treatments! So many spas are stuffy but the people at Bella Sante make everyone feel like a VIP...My facial with Beverly was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! She is extremely knowledgable and the added touch of a foot massage sets this spa above the rest! Gerda's massage is like NO other you've experienced...THE BEST! I've always enjoyed the other 2 locations but to have this at my back door is heaven!!

Pros: Top notch services, soothing ambience and there's plenty of parking!

Cons: NONE

BELLA SANTE ON NEWBURY!!

by Angelica02114

I came to Bella Sante and from start to finish, the customer service was AMAZING. I felt like a celebrity!!

I had a Bella facial with Jackie and my skin looked and felt great. Although she looks young (I didn't ask), she knows her stuff and seems experienced- she even gave me secrets to caring for my skin at home. I hate extractions but it wasn't bad, besides, the pampering made up for it big time!!!

I travel a great deal and I've been to spas all over. Truth be told, this is one of the best experiences I've had and I just had to write about it.

Pros: Great Customer Service

Cons: none

best facial right here in wellesley, ma

by suzispalover

i just had the best facial ever. Her name is beverly and i was so relaxed and informed all at the same time... as i was put under the steam, she offered me a foot rub or a head rub, i took the head, and it made me go to lala land.... other places just leave you as the steam works, but not here.... My husband even said, wow, your skin looks great, and he never notices that stuff.... the staff was so nice, and i loved drinking their water with the floating lemons and oranges in it. I really felt like i was away on vacation after leaving the spa...

Pros: great parking instead of parking in the city

awesome!

by hectichotelowner

I've been to the Spa on Newbury before and absolutely loved it so I was anxious to see if they could duplicate the experience at the new spa in Wellesley. It was incredible!!! The first thing I saw was a gorgeous water wall in the reception area, so serene. So beautiful and clean. Everyone was very nice and so knowledgeable about their products. I had an incredible facial, Carita, and a 90 minute massage. I didn't want to leave! I highly recommend Bella Sante You can't be disappointed!

Pros: lots of parking, also good shopping and restaurants close by so you can make a day of it

I can't wait to go again!

by awsg

Bella Sante in Wellesley is a haven of relaxation. Walking into the spa, I immediately begin to feel my stress diminish - the atmosphere is calm and inviting, the changing room/shower area is always exceptionally clean, and the services are always first rate. I have had four different massage therapists and they have all been great and all with their own particular strengths (eg when I need deep tissue I ask for Greg or Caroline) I have also received amazing facials - a great deal because you almost get a shoulder, back, and arm massage too.
I can't recommend Bella Sante enough.

Best Day Spa in Boston..Bar None

by SPBG

I go to all 3 locations and find all of them to be fabulous. The desk staff are always helpful and happy to see me when I arrive and treat me well as I leave. I've never had a bad experience in the 8 years that I've been frequenting Bella Sante...and I've been to other day spas in NYC and destination spas all over the country. I've always found Bella Sante's staff to be consummate professionals. I find it sort of funny..the negative reviews...there are just some people who are never happy and LOVE to complain! (Maybe they should just stay home.)

Fantastic spot- must visit!

by LoverofSpas

Today I had a nice experience. I don't typically take the time to say 'thank you' to a business...but I feel it necessary to take a moment and express gratitude to the folks at Bella Sante. Everyone was warm and inviting....the space was sparkeling clean and the Spa Director even took a moment to introduce himself to me!! I felt like I was a movie star.....like I was their only guest.
I had a Carita facial (WOW!) and a massage....from David (former Best of Boston Massage Winner....he told me this!!).....I kind of lost myself and spent a lot of time hanging around the lounge area....I didn't want to leave and restart my hectic life. I will be back soon. Great spot.

Pros: snacks, can use credit card for tips and great people

Cons: need more amenities in the locker-room

OVer-priced, Over-hyped

by ShaSC

I received a gift card here for two facials. I regularly get facials and have experienced many Boston facials as well as facials within the Boston suburbs. I was very disappointed with Bella Sante. I found the front desk staff to be VERY unorganized which added a high element of chaos to what was suppose to be a relaxing experience. The staff were clearly distracted and on personal phone calls. They were frustrated with keeping the locker room tidy. The spa was very clean and peaceful looking.
My facials were very poor - and my skin has developed some kind of perpetual peeling since January from the products used. I found the products to be extremely expensive and the staff were not knowledgeable about the benefits of the various products, but were happy to encourage clients to drop their cash.
What I thought would be a special time turned out to be disappointing --- I do not recommend this place for facials.

Pros: pretty setting

Cons: staff, over priced, putting your face at risk, no parking

Horrible manicure

by lakupi

I have been to several places in Boston for manicures and this was by far the worst experience. I got there 10 minutes early as they ask and had to wait about ten minutes into my appointment. The waiting would not have bothered me (as it was only ten minutes) however the manicurist rushed through the appointment. She gave me literally five seconds to pick out a color! The hand massage part was non-existent-- she slathered on hand cream and then rubbed it off. Then she quickly put on the paint and had to clean up all of her mistakes with nail polish remover. There are no drying stations so she told me to go sit in the waiting room and let them dry for 15 minutes. For $27 I was expecting to be pampered. I do have to say that everyone was very nice and it was a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. I would probably go back to try out some of their body treatments but I definitely would not go back for a manicure--not worth the money!

Pros: Ambience, friendly

Cons: Manicures

Worst Manicure

by CindyTee

Went to Bella Sante for a day of beauty a week ago. The massage, facial and other services I got were fabulous but when it came to the manicure- I was beyond disappointed. The woman who did my nails painted my whole finger (literally) and spent all of the time cleaning up her mistakes. Far too expensive for such poor quality- you are better going off somewhere else for a manicure!

Pros: Massages, Facials

Cons: MANICURES

Awesome waxing!

by kziemer

I have gone to Bella Sante for a variety of services from the bronzing treatment to waxing and I have had a great experience each time. They are highly professional and the products they use are fantastic- esp. the wax- they are the most pain-free I have ever had (and I have had plenty). My only issue has been having to wait a few minutes during a busier time of year- such as during the holidays. Otherwise, I recommend it for a great escape- esp. during weeknights when fewer people are at the spa.

Pros: Cucumber water, robes, new showers/locker room

Cons: Waiting in busy season

better than average

by bleuemoon

i love the atmosphere/ambience of bella sante on newbury street. i used to go to bella sante in lexington. but the bella sante on newbury street is better. granted, i have not been to the lexington bella sante since they remodelled, i don't want to go back there. i even had left over facials there but the experice at lexington bella sante spa is just not as nice as the experience at the newbury street location. same name, not the same spa - that's what i would say.

what i like about bella sante on newbury street too is that the aestheticians, while they are blunt and a little bossy, tell you what you are doing wrong in your skin care. i had three or mroe different aestheticians there. all of them i would recommend if i could remember their names. but one person i would never go back to! she would use her arms (from elbow to her hands) to masasge my face. doesn't that sound a little odd?

i actually don't like the foot massages at bella sante. foot massage and facial by the same person at the same time? no thank - you.

over all experience at bella sante - very professional, very soothing, very refreshing, would go back there except that i found a better deal in my neighborhood.

Pros: lovely ambience

Cons: high price (but it is on newbury street isn't it?)

So-So

by berries18

I went to Bella Sante recently for a massage. The receptionist told me my treatment was supposed to begin in one minute, so if I didn't want to cut things short I needed to get changed really quickly, which I did. After I came out of the changing room I wound up waiting for a few more minutes (not a huge deal) before my masseuse (sp?) came to get me. The massage was decent, not earth shattering, but most disappointing to me was the fact that it was supposed to be a 50 minute massage, and when I looked at the clock in the room following the massage, it was only 38 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin. Assuming I got started about 7 minutes late, this was only about a 30 minute massage. I understand the treatment being cut short if I was late for the appointment, but this got shortened on both ends. Not what you'd expect when you're paying Newbury Street prices.

Pros: Good location, relaxing decor

Cons: Didn't get full treatment time

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

by becknuts

My mom and I went for a girl?s day out. We got massages followed by facials. During my entire 50-minute massage there were noises penetrating the room. It was very distracting and hard to relax. Then when it was time for my facial it was amazing. The room was quite, music relaxing, and the treatment was great. I felt like I went to two different spas. Why couldn't the massage have been as great as the facial? Not sure I would go back because at those prices, I want to guarantee relaxation.

Pros: Staff is nice

Cons: Very noisy

Beware the product sales pitch

by blee24

My girlfriend has been going here regularly, and likes the spa services a lot. The last couple times she bought some products after she was told she that if she didn't like them after a couple weeks, she could return them. This most recent visit, she bought a whole line of a product, including some foul tasting vitamin powder. She couldn't even drink a single serving of it, but said, "no problem, they said I could return it." I went with her to return it, and the woman at the counter told us they didn't take returns. Also, she didn't sympathise at all with our situation. Just smiled, told us to call the manager if we wanted to complain.

Its too bad, my girlfriend spoke so highly of her experiences before that I was ready to go in for a massage. But a bad customer service experience like this is enough to keep us away for good.

Pros: Ambience, treatment staff

Cons: customer service, product sales tactics

A Bella Experience

by charlgrtsch

After having my hair done at Runway Salon, I decided to go across the street to Bella Sante to have a facial and massage. What a fabulous experience for me. I've never felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. The spa itself is beautiful. Beautiful decor. A quiet, relaxing and tranquil environment. It was easy to get an appointment. I just happened to walk in and there was a facialist to had an opening for me. My facialist was excellent. She was very professional and experienced. She had the magic touch! I'm very happy with my experience at Bella Sante and will definitley come back more frequently for facials.

Pros: Beautiful Decor, Skill and Expertise, Value

Cons: None at all

I was really not expecting too much when I made my appt. with Bella Sante. The spa Violet on Newbury St had awesome reviews on this site and my massage there was nothing to write home about. However, Andrea's facial was really great. Her facial massage were just awesome and her whole experience with her was worth the $90. Highly recommended!

Pros: Quiet, courteous staff, locker rooms

A bit of everything. + Strange Cult like music??

by limogin

I frequent Bella Sante Lexington. I will say the place usually gives me a chance to relax with peaceful music & surroundings (I'm a mom!). But recently I had a massage late in the evening. It was an average massage but I was relaxed until the music (usually pan flute, birds, water) became faster and suddenly I realized I was hearing a deep male voice speaking within the music. I don't know what he was saying but it was beyond freaky. There also was laughing sounds & at first I even wondered if I was imagining the sounds. Well, I most definitely was not imagining. It was late, dark & I couldn't ask what was going on with the music. I pretty much ran out of there. I have left over on my cards but I don't know about that last experience.

Cons: Only one Bathroom

FANTASTIC FACIAL

I recently had a facial at Bella Sante and I have to say that it was fantastic!! It's the best facial I've had in a long time. I was walking on Newbury Street and decided to pop in and see if they could service me without an appointment....which they did. I thought that was very nice and accomodating from them seeing how it was a Saturday and extremely busy!! The service I received was exceptional. I highly recommend this place and will definitley be going back again.

Worth the Treat!

by sterling20

A friend had told me about Bella Sante and mentioned it was "ok" She did not see Jocelyn. Jocelyn gave me the best facial I have ever had. I was so relaxed from start to finish- I love that aside from the face massage, she gave me a scalp massage and an awesome foot massage. I'va had facials before, but she seemed to go way above and beyond to make sure I was happy and comfortable. She took a close look at my skin, and reccommended products (which I never usually buy but did) and explained exactly why I should use them. Its been over a week and my skin still looks amazing. I've never had such an attentive esthetician and would reccommend her to anyone!

Pros: relaxing, friendly staff, welcoming

I have gone to many of the so called top spas in Boston and Bella Sante gets my vote every time. I have been going there for a couple of years now for quarterly facials and my skin has never looked better. I feel the staff there is professional and courteous and I have never been mistreated. I like to book my facials on a Friday evening afterwork. The atmosphere is always welcoming and comforting and I leave the spa feeling refreshed and ready for the weekend.

I happened to have a gift card from almost 1 year ago (forgot I had It) I walked into the Boston site. I liked the atmosphere. Love the steam room! I got a facial and brows waxed. I felt so relaxed. Beverly worked on my screaming, needed to pampered face of mine. Love my brows. Loved the music. I made another appt to see Bevely again in 1 month. She was fantastic. I respected the fact that she really talked to me about my skins condition and what It would appreciate. She was not pushy (also the woman at the desk) about buying the products. I will purchase another time. $ is tight right now. I am looking forward to seeing Beverly again and relaxing in the stream room. Oh and I liked the pitchers of h2o with oranges and one with cucumbers! See you real soon!!

Cons: price of products.

Keep your personal lives to yourselves

by jsmith333

I have gone to other spas an salons in the past, but this one was the worst. I had my nails done and all I had to hear was how this girls live was miserable...I had to listen about men problems, personal problems and the fact that she was working so much that she never really had a day off....this is not what i was expecting when I wanted to relax..also, she was late and was frantic because of that..i told her I wanted a french manicure and she almost cried...maybe if she did have a few days off, she would have been in a much better mood...the prices are high and the staff is mediocre...I also noticed that a few of the girls that I had seen before were not there, I wonder why...this spa has a high turnover and these new girls need some more training

Bella Sante' is consistently GREAT

by pamscantalides

I have been a client at Bella Sante' since 1998. I have a manicure every week, a pedicure every month, and quarterly facials, massages and waxes. The staff at the Boston Bella Sante' are consistently courteous, helpful, cheerful and give great advice! Although there is turn over among the technicians, many of the people who give massages and facials have been there for years. My two favorite services are the ACE Massage; Oceanage Facial. Most recently, I had a Brazillian wax, which was just right for my November vacation on the beach. I travel quite a bit in my job and have had massages, manicures and pedicures all over the place (including in Argentina). Bella Sante' is superior without exception. Recently my office moved from one block away on Boylston Street to across town at South Station. I would never consider another salon when Bella Sante' meets all my needs!

Pros: Knowledge of Staff, Location, Ambience

Cons: not inexpensive

From the moment I entered the spa with my friends, I was treated like a queen. The staff, atmosphere, decor, and massage with Karen. Everything was perfect!!!

Massage, Just Ok

by beantown02446

I got a birthday gift certificate here for an 80 minute massage. I have had massages in hotels and gyms before. Though the environment, locker room and people were really great, the actual massage was just ok. I have had much better. You are really paying for the whole robe-tea-waiting-room thing. It's all well and good, but if the whole thing you are waiting for is just eh, then what's the point?

Pros: Environment, Attitude of Staff

Cons: Skills in massage
