Patrick Buben, co-owner of Boston's Tapeo Restaurant and Tapas Bar on Newbury Street, is the mastermind behind Bacco Ristorante. Bacco offers full liquor service in its spacious, magnificent mahogany and granite bar on the first level, bringing contemporary North End and European flavor to the lounge. One wall of folding doors opens to the street offering a Roman ambiance. On the second level is the beautifully appointed dining room, where classic Italian cuisine is available from an extensive menu. Choose from favorites such as Seafood fra diavlo, lobster ravioli and caprese salad. Reserve our site for receptions and special events for up to 100 or more of your closest friends. Bacco Ristorante is located in the heart of Boston's North End section down the street from the famous Old North Church.

In Short
Bacco's first floor is home to a beautiful mahogany and granite bar where patrons drink from an extensive wine list and catch sports highlights on one of two flat-screen TVs. The restaurant's French doors are open during warmer months, allowing guests to feel like part of the action along Salem Street. Diners on the more formal second level devour plates of linguini carbonara, chicken cacciatore and lobster ravioli while enjoying views of the city.

Key Points

  • Steak pizzaiola
  • Extensive wine list
  • Perfect for large parties

The Inside Scoop

  1. Parking - For a great deal, park at the Parcel 7 garage (136 Blackstone St.) and have the restaurant validate your ticket ($3 for three hours).
  2. The Extras - There is no official dress code, but come in something stylish and chic or else you'll be recognized as a first-timer.

Best Italian food I've had in Boston! I'm a frequent traveller and Bacco is the one place I always go back when I'm in town!
The staff always made me feel welcome!

Bacco is my favorite Italian restaurant. Warm and welcoming staff, excellent food, great martinis, especially the chocolate martini!
I love the open windows and romantic atmosphere.

Pros: Food, Drinks, Atmosphere

Cons: parking, weekend waits

Decent meal.

by goblue99

We ate here on a Saturday night. Lines on Hanover St were huge, but this place is hidden and not as crowded. Free bread was decent. My caesar salad was huge and very good, but the entrees were only average. My manicotti was salty and no better than Olive Garden. My friend said her eggplant was undercooked. Portions are large though, and ordering wine by the glass is a solid value. No dessert served here. I would only come here again if other places are packed.
