Veggie Planet is a must whenever I'm in Harvard Square. They make vegetarian and vegan food delicious. Love their dishes over rice or on a pizza. Ambiance is low key and relaxing.

Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Cambridge!

Veggie Planet is absolutely the best vegetarian friendly restaurant in Cambridge. It is also extremely vegan friendly. They sell pizzas, salads, soups, and other daily specialities in a basement in Harvard Square.
The place feels very greenwich village-esque.
You line up at a counter in front of the kitchen and place your order for one of their custom veggie pizzas which can be served on bread or rice. The pizza dough is made at a local homeless shelter/bakery. The pizza have a kind of international fusion flair -- curries, tofu, almond-red pepper sauce, etc. But their are old standards like 3 cheese and cheese and tomato.
The place is sure to please everyone vegetarian or not. For my college graduation I took my whole family there and even my picky grandparents enjoyed the food.
It is always very fresh and tasty. Try the lemonade or organic soda. Go on Sunday and enjoy the brunch.
Beware of going at night since the restaurant shares it's seating with a folk music club, Club Passim and their may be no where to sit.
PROS: great food, vegetarian+vegan, reasonable prices
CONS: no place to sit at night
