Zen is by far one of the best hair dressers there, she does a wonderful wax as well, i tell her what i want and it comes out exactly how I pictured it ! thanks zen!

Debbie is great for getting eyebrows done but the few cuts I have gotten with Anna have been pretty mediocre and the last one I got was just bad. I had gotten a cut I liked from someone else and asked her to just clean that cut up but she was in a rush and cut my hair all one length (which looks bad as I have wavy hair.. no one has done that to me since I stopped going to Supercuts after college) and didn't really touch the bangs. She had somewhere to be and spent no time on my cut (fastest cut I have ever had...since Supercuts.) I will go back to see Debbie for eyebrows but I will never let Anna at it again.

I found Mario's when I moved to Somerville a few years ago. I have tried other salons here and there but always come back to Mario's. The prices are more reasonable than the other places I've tried and the owner, Mario, is extremely friendly. I tend to stick to him and Pepe (not sure if that's spelled right) for my hair cuts because they are just great. For waxing, definitely go to Rosa. She is awesome... and uses chocolate scented wax! All in all, Mario's is definitely worth trying.

I was delighted to happen upon Maria at Mario's for a perm recently. I couldn't have been more pleased. From Maria's excellent cut and perm to the tasty homemade treats, coffee and conversation offered whilst I processed, I had lovely time and would not hesitate to recommend Mario's. Most fun I've had getting permed in a long time.

I took my Mother who is a young 84 year old for an appointment with Rosa at Mario's yesterday and she didn't want to go. Once I told her Rosa would feel bad if she didn't go she gave in and went. She came out of there feeling younger,and happier. Rosa not only cut the Mop but waxed her face and eye brows and made her feel human again. And went as far as to explain to my Mom that if she wasn't able to come again to the Salon- she would come to her. She not only made my Mom feel good she made me feel good.She is not only talented with her hands she is gifted.And worth the trip-the time and every dime.SUE

Rosa has been coloring and cutting my hair for years now. Unlike other hairdressers, she actually listens to what you want, and gives you different options. My picky, teenage daughter goes to her too. She has very thick, kinky curly hair. Most hairdressers wouldn't even touch her hair - too much work. Not Rosa! She does an awesome job. I wouldn't go to anyone else. WE LOVE HER!!!

I started at Mario's in the early 90s when I lived in Somerville. Now I live in Littleton and work in Lowell, MA and I can't find a salon better than Mario's. I drove over an hour today and it was totally worth it for Rosa to make me feel like and look like $100 bucks!

Went to Mario's for the first time for a color and cut by Maria, who was recommended to me by a friend. Maria took the time to consult with me before she colored and foiled my hair because it was the first time I ever had it done. Her expertise and easy going personality made me feel very comfortable. My hair never looked so good. I've never had so many compliments about my hair. I will recommend Maria to my friends because I know that they will get the same good service and great results as I did. See you soon, Maria!

What can I say? After twenty-five years of waxing no one does it better than Rosa. I've traveled the world and Rosa is better than those in Paris, New York and L.A. She is thorough and extremely meticulous when it comes to offering the finest waxing I've ever had. Is it any wonder I traveled from out of state for many years to ensure my legs (and other parts) were perfectly smooth to share with the one I love. Rosa your the best!

I had a perm done at Marios and it came out terrible. They over processed my hair and it came out all frizzy. He cut it unevenly so I had to go back where he argued and gave me a very hard time cutting it again. He was very rough cutting my hair and obnoxious about it. It was a terrible and horrible experience so I would NEVER recommend them.

WOW , I WAS VERY IMPRESSED AT HOW MY HAIR COME OUT. VERY AFFORDABLE PRICES. THE STYLIST NAME WAS ZEN. SHE COLORED AND HIGHLIGHTED,CUT AND WAXED IN LESS THEN TWO HOURS,OTHER PLACES TAKE 4 OR 5 HOURS.
I LOVE THE CUT AND STYLE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Mario's Salon is conveniently located right across the street from the Davis T stop. It caters mostly to the Tufts crowd, but I've seen people of all ages in hair. The stylists are knowledgeable and the prices are reasonable (a little high but expected from a salon). You can get walk-in service here so don't be afraid to just go in. In addition to cuts and color, they also offer waxing. The only problem I've had here is that some of the staff don't listen to what you request but go ahead and cut your hair how they think it should be. Be prepared to be VERY firm! Otherwise, recommended.
