This resturant was just redone. The new set up is clean, fast, affordable, and delicious. The portions are generous and the staff are friendly. This is a perfect place to go on a Saturday or Sunday morning with friends.

I had been warned prior to eating here that the burgers were no good, "I'd rather have a Big Mac" they cried. Surely, a place that Boston magazine had recognized as having the best Burgers in Boston in 2006 (must have been a slow year for burgers) would be good enough. They claim to be the second best place in the world to pig out, although I'm still trying to figure out what's so appealing about that. Eagles Deli is kind of gross, its a B.C. hangout I suppose, based more on location than anything, although I never really considered any part of Greater Boston a "college area," with the possible exception of Harvard square, but even that is laced with tourists. In any event, the burgers here are bad, and let's face it, there's no effort here, clearly the burgers are pre-frozen, almost exactly what one would find at the grocery store. You know the one's I'm talking about, pre-shaped patties that any "Joe the Plummer" can throw on the grill and look like a real man for "grilling." But they don't taste good, same deal with the fries, also pre-frozen. Like I said, no effort, not even real cooking. The restaurant is set up like a cafeteria essentially, with a few pimply faced college kids filling up the room. Sadly, most people, not just the impoverished co-eds, don't know what a real burger is. I'm beginning to wonder if anyone in Boston does, for that matter. The cheese is unmelted, it comes on a very unflattering bun, with nothing else. If you want toppings you have to ask after it's all cooked, and the line cooks are anything but cooperative. Everything is served on a plate that must be from the '60's, and its just an embarrassment all around. They claim to be World Famous, but how? As I wrote previously in my blog, some places become famous for something, here, its for serving mammoth 5 pound burgers that come with 20 slices of cheese, 20 pieces of bacon and 5 pounds of fries. Hey, the guy on Man vs. Food came here, it must be great! The problem is, they become famous, and then what? Well, they stop caring about the food because it doesn't matter anymore, although I can't imagine a time when the food was ever good here. I have nothing else to say about Eagles Deli, its a greasy spoon, its not good, and I will never come back.

Never was here until yesterday after seeing it on Man Vs. Food. The burger was good, but unfortunately it took a good long while and when it did finally come, the place was so packed, i had 10 hungry customers literally hovering over my table, watching me eat. Not the restaurants fault, but that kinda took away from my meal that i waited 25 minutes for.

Maybe they ought to consider buying out next door and expanding.

After hearing about this place I finally got the chance to try it out. The customer service is rude but that's how it's supposed to be at this place. I love it because it's like talking to a friend. True Bean-town! The burger's taste like they came straight off the grill. If you get a chance to try it out........DO IT!!!!

Large portions of everything, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner...$10 or so per/person...1) the food is great, 2) you will not finish 3) you will enjoy, 4) you will be satisfied with your visit, and 5) you will end up going back...I did (and I will go back again this Oct 2008)

Wether I've ordered meals or picked up deli to bring home, the food is always excellent. They have one of the best burgers I've had anywhere in the U.S. The portions are generous as well. The staff is polite and I've never had an order made wrong. If you are in the B.C., Cleveland Circle area, I recommend that you stop by.

Great burgers - great chicken & sick fries. Service is lousy - tip accordingly. It is not a five star restaurant and you aren't there for the service. Go to Newbury St if you want smiles with your order.

I've been there atleast 10 times and atleast 7 of those times they have screwed up our order. What bothers me the most is that they have the attitude that it's your fault they messed up the order. You must have forgot to order...not, we're very busy and must have forgot.
They definitely have the attitude there that "we're eagles deli, we're on the travel channel and everyone in boston has heard of us so if you don't like us, don't come here because someone else will."
The burgers are good but are ruined by the customer service. I REFUSE TO EAT THERE

The chicken finger dinner with a choice of two sides is well worth the $8. The burgers are delicious when they don't overcook them. Great place to go if you are seeking large portions at an affordable price. The service could use a little work.......

Their burger lunch special ($5 combo = 8oz burger, fries and soda) beats the chains! Eagles was plagued with really poor service. They catered to regulars and you had to fight to order and get your food out. It wasn't unusal to see someone standing by the door trying to put order in as regulars come in, and say "Hey, the usual" or people waiting for a burger and regulars would swipe them. One time I took a regulars' burger, who cut in front of me, to see if I get caught and I wasn't.

But Eagles have updated their system (register at the end of the counter? How strange?), and they have friendlier staff now. If you live near Cleaveland Circle, you need to stop in and give their burgers a shot. If you had bad experience in the past, you should give them a shot.

Eagles Deli in known for its obcenely huge portions. The biggest item on the menu is so huge that they will give it to you for free if can finish the whole thing. It was rated by the Travel channel as the second best place to big out. It's a great place to indulge in a burger and fries or any other grilled food. It's got a large Boston College crowd especially on the weekends for breakfast.

This claim was made by the Travel Channel, and a huge banner outside the restaurant will make sure you are aware of the distinction. I wouldn't quite go this far in describing Eagle's Deli, but I sure do like it a lot. Monster burgers that are delicious, a variety of fries and fry toppings, breakfast all day, and a pretty solid deli counter make up the menu here. If you eat a 1 lb or larger burger, you get your pic up on their wall. Pretty great place all around. Only negative: the corned beef was dry last time I got it.

Eagle's Deli has great and greasy food for every meal. A perfect place to go for breakfast after a night out, or for dinner before a night out. Very reasonable prices and a college atmosphere. Not somewhere to frequent regularly, especially if you're even remotely concerned with your health.

The Eagles deli is a good spot for greasy food in large portions. The burger here is OK mainly because the people cooking them don't know what they are doing. Ask for rare, medium rare, medium and you get one thing - Well Done, never fails. Most of the people that work here are pretty rude to the customers. The breakfast here is top notch and most of the other food is good also. You want your 2lb burger well done order up...

eagles has very good food that you can't miss. Just because they have good food, the employees think they can jerk around and act like jerks. The people who work here are very rude, and often ailenate customers. Other than that, they're burgers are excellent, and so are thier breakfasts. It is a bit pricy, don't go to eagles if you only have a couple dollors on you. I would recommend going there.

Eagle's has GREAT burgers and fries. The food is greasy and fabulous. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault! The burger selections are almost endless, and if you like Mr. Bartley's, you will LOVE Eagle's Deli. If you eat a Godzilla burger (1 pounder) and a pound of fries you will get your picture on the wall, as well as a Piggy pin.
