Went here to meet some friends while I was in town visiting. Great location for happy hour drinks if you work in Cambridge. Try the salt and vinegar hand cut fries - so delicious.

Beer is my biggest vice, by far. and finding a good brewery in town is hard. We do have a few but nothing good. I stumbled up CBC through 'couchsurfing' and my friend turned me onto the Amber.
I read some of the other reviews and I am actually surprised at the stuff people said. I haven't gone there for dinner, per se, but i have ordered food at the bar and it was good. The bartenders are all very nice and work very hard and keep a great attitude. I definately say the Amber from cbc is the best brewed beer in Boston/Cambridge.

Pros: The amber is delish

Cons: the rest of the beer choices are not delish

This place is great! They brew all beers on site. The food is a upscale version of pub food. I personally LOVE the saffaron seafood stew. Each dish is typically prepared with some sort of beer. My favorite place to eat in Cambridge. The service is great and parking easy with a garage across the way!

Here's what the CBC is: a brewpub with better-than-decent beer, and fairly decent food. Is it spectacular? Not really. It's good, sometimes really good, especially the beer dinners they have twice a year where they pair food and beer in really interesting and delicious combinations. I would say I was a semi-regular, and the staff were always very pleasant and prompt with me. I don't think you have to be a regular, but maybe it helps.

Food can be creative, a step above your average pub fare of burgers or fish and chips. They do have a selection of wood-fired pizzas that is good. They have daily specials which are often very good, and there hasn't been anything on the menu that I found awful. More often, I just find the food average. Once you have a few of their beers in you, though, average seems pretty darn good.

Wednesday night is Cask Night, where they tap a small batch brew and serve it until it's gone.

I eat out every night so I have alot of experience with many different restaurant. This is by far the WORST place I've been to with in the last 4 years.

I went there for a friend's birthday.I was a little late so I sat down with my friends. Took at least five minutes for the waitress to acknowledge me. I asked for a menu and a water to start off. After waiting for about 7 minutes and still being menu-less. I just grabbed a menu from an empty table. Took another 10 minutes for the waitress to return and take my order. I had to ask for water again and one of their beers. Took close to 10 minutes to get my drinks.

I ordered steak, which took about 40 minutes to get. It shouldn't take 40 minutes if the place is at about 75% of their capacity. When I did get my steak, it was over cooked to medium well. I ordered medium rare, and was very specific about that when I ordered. It took me atleast 5 minutes to flag down another waitress because mine seemed to disappeared. When I told her that it was medium well, and not medium rare like I ordered, she corrected me that it was actually cooked to medium! Very rude. And it was definitely medium well. I was so turned off to this place that when she asked me if I wanted another one, I just told her no.

Everywhere I have been, if they messed up my order, atleast a manager would come and apologize. I guess they don't practice it here.

I had to ask twice for our check. and they tagged on the 18% gratuity because we had a party of 10. I am a generous tipper (usually 25%) but the service here was not even worth any tip. I still gave them the 18% but not a cent more.

On our way out, no one thanked us for our business or anything. Anyways, it was the worst restaurant experience in Boston I've had so far.

My boyfriend was reluctant to go to CBC as he said the service is usually terribly slow. However, since it was 2:30 in the afternoon and likely not busy, we decided to check it out anyway.

I should have listened to my boyfriend. The service was horrendous despite the fact that it wasn't very busy. We were just about to get up to leave after waiting more than 45 minutes when our waiter came with our drinks and took our food order. Our food was cold when we got it, which made for a less than enjoyable meal, but there was no way we were sending it back at that point! We asked for the check when our food arrived so that we would have to wait an extra half hour for that, but he still managed to mess that up too. Yikes!

On a positive note (the one positive note), the pale ale was good. Lesson learned: stick to the bar.

My husband and I were visiting Boston and Cambridge and went here for dinner on a Friday night. It was packed but we some found out why! We had the nachos which had nice homemade chips, fresh salsa, beans, corn and cheese - very good way to start out dinner. For my entree I had the asian chicken salad. It was pretty good; a little dry at first, so I asked for more dressing, which the waiter happily gave me. My husband got one of the pizzas with pepperoni, sausage and red pepper flakes, along with one of their in house brews. Everything tasted delicious; the crowd was pretty friendly and the service was prompt/helpful without being overboard. Unfortunately my husband got sick that night...maybe it was the combination of the brew with nachos and pizza? Not sure. I was fine, however. I think it was a fluke but you may want to take a precautionary dose of pepto before eating any of the pizzas!

You have to try this place. The beer is one of a kind! :) It's a wonderful place to grab a bite to eat and have a few beers after work.
