Wow. I am very disappointed with Paul Broccolina's review and feel bad that he felt the need to express his disgust on a public forum instead of settling the matter in a mature way with the ladies at The Gateway Florist. I have been doing business with The Gateway Florist for over 2 years, they even did my wedding** (see below), and I have gotten nothing but amazing service with amazing product. Sir, I apologize for I do not know you, but I am astonished at your selfish and acquisitive temperament. To threaten someone is unacceptable. Period. You are wrong, sir.

Again, I apologize for the harsh undertones, though I feel as a continuously satisfied customer, I owe it to the Gateway to state my opinion.

**The day of my wedding (June), I found out half of the flowers were dead because the fridge I had put them in was too cold (my fault). I called Cindy to see if maybe she could help. Luckily, she was able to spare some time and not only came to help last minute, she brought another designer with her to help! Simply amazing.

I have been contemplating for several days on whether to comment on "cindyylbill's" complaint of my shop. I do believe I need to tell the WHOLE story in defense of my shop. First off, I do guarantee 100% of our work and have been voted "Best of Annapolis" for the last 5 years. I take pride in making sure all our customers are completely satisfied with our work. Unfortunately, "cindyylbill" omitted a few facts that need to be addressed. We did not deliver this wedding to the customer. The customer picked up the flowers on a Friday (with no complaints) and then drove 5 hours away in 100 degree weather to their wedding location. My manager gave specific instructions on how to keep the flowers cool and hydrated. What happened in those two days, we can not guarantee due to the fact they were not in our refrigerated cooler. Also, the customer DID NOT call us until 6 WEEKS AFTER the wedding to complain. This is totally unacceptable! Someone from the wedding should have notified us immediately about the problem and we would have gone above and beyond to make it right. We have done 35 weddings since January of this year, and we have had no complaints! Under these circumstances, I feel we cannot refund any monies. As far as her comment about our customer service, I hung up on her because she threatened me several times. Once again, we take pride in our products and customer service and would go above and beyond to satisfy our customers!

The owner Cindy refuses to even discuss compensation and actually hung up on my wife twice when she tried to resolve the situation amicably with Cindy. Her response was "once the flowers leave our shop, whatever happens to them is the customers' responsibiltiy". Cindy stated that it was "ridiculous" that we even try to call so late to discuss the situation. If you do not want shoddy flowers and you you do not want to deal with a disrespectful staff and owner, do not buy flowers from Gateway Florist

I have ordered lots of flowers for friends, family and clients and I have never received such poor service. With so many capable florists in the annapolis area, I would look elsewhere.

I have always had a wonderful experience with York Flowers and I thought I would try a new shop but I would not make that mistake with Gateway Florist again.
