I had been seeing Dr Burke at this practice for almost 6 years before she left to open her own practice. I had no complaints. However, after she left I went in for a check up with Dr Melnick and had the worst visit of my life. He was rough and didnt really seem to care about my teeth. I put off going back until I started having problems with one of my old fillings. I got an emergency appt and when he checked out the fillings that were giving me problems he said that they were fine ( didnt have dental insurance at the time). I asked him to replace the filling anyway and even though he agreed he was rushed and very rough. My poor gums took over a week to heal. He replaced the filling badly and instead of relieving the pain, he actually made it worse. He had created a gap between my molars that would catch and trap food. Even though I was flossing religiously the pain was getting worse. I finally contacted Delta Dental (I have insurance now) and explained the situation to them and they recommended another dentist. It took 2 visits in order to fix what he did. Additionally, he never really completed any of the fillings he did for me. They all had sharp edges that kept cutting my tongue and he didnt contour them correctly which made my bite off and hurt my jaw. I still have another visit to my new dentist (she is great) in order to completely fix all the damage he has done.

Avoid this dental office at any cost. There is only one excellent doctor Dr. Vazir who is very nice and competent, but the rest is an absolute nightmare. I started going to this office 6 years ago. I made a huge mistake of choosing them as my orthodontist and I had to stick around for other treatments because of that and for Dr. Vazir. My orthodontist was consistently late for my appointment which was always the first one in the morning. Several times she did not show up just because she had only one patient in the morning or her car mysteriously broke down quite a few times over the course of three years. The orthodontist kept switching from one to another every 6 months or so. One time I was yelled by the financial staff when I pointed out that they had over $200 credit from overcharging insurance and they didn't tell me about it after my thorough examination of their bills and insurance receipts. A few month after the "WE DON'T HAVE A CREDIT!!" yells, we finally got the check back from them with no apology. When they tell you that they would work something out and would call me, I never get a call from them. They know how far I am driving from and the fact that I have to take a half day off (I don't get paid days off and they know it), but they still disrespect my time by not providing the service that I deserve (i.e. the ortho not showing up). I can easily sue them for medical malpractice for negligence. On the other hand they try to make you take unnecessary x-rays, which is super outdated film version. I am so frustrated by them and I will never return to the office ever again. I really don't want anyone to experience what I went through with this office. I am so done.

I could feel a hole in one of my molars, and wasn't sure whether I lost a filling or broke a piece off my tooth. All I knew is that I wanted to get checked by a dentist right away. I hadn't been to a dentist for awhile so didn't really have a regular dentist to go to. I began calling dentists in Laurel who accept my dental plan, and this was the only office who said they could see me the next day. (After going to this terrible dental practice, I now know why they had openings!) When I went for my appointment, I was a little concerned about the empty waiting room and the worn looking furnishings. The dental assistant was friendly enough, and took a couple of x-rays. They used the outdated film type rather than the newer digital x-rays. I waited in the chair for the dentist for awhile, and then the dental assistant returned and told me they had to move me to a different chair. When I asked why, I was told they were doing an extraction nearby and they wanted me "to be more comfortable". (Was I going to hear screaming, or what??!!) I was put in another room and seated in a ripped dental chair, which was a real turnoff. Dr. Manesh finally came in, and he was very abrupt and unfriendly and spent less than 2 minutes with me. All he did was take a dental mirror and bang on my tooth and ask me if it hurt. I said no and then he said I needed a crown at a cost of hundreds of dollars, and that was it. Then I was presented with a plan for financing. I felt like all they wanted was my money. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I made an appointment with a different dental practice to get a second opinion, and when I asked Dental Care of Laurel Lakes for the x-rays I had paid for, they refused to give them to me and I had to pay to have them redone by the other dentist. The last straw was when I received a bill from them for $15 several months later. Although I had paid the $15 copay at the time of my appointment, had a copy of my cancelled check, and had heard nothing more from them, they said my account was "past due", charged me a "finance charge" and threatened collection action. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS DENTAL PRACTICE!
