The store in Silver Spring MD represents the work ethic carried out by most of the stores. Although some of the fish may be fresh, most of the fish is packed away at night and used again for weeks or months until someone buys it. They will deny this, but on several occasions we have found stale fish in our order. Also, on several occasions we were served crabs that were cooked dead. This is not an isolated complaint. Check the reviews. if you see only one other customer complaining about bad crabs or fish, there is a problem. Workers know how expensive fish can be. To make ends meet they keep fish much longer than they should. They are experts on the condition of fish, they have to be. You won't see any Japanese eating at Cameron's. If you don't know the difference between fresh and stale fish. Bite the bullet and eat at a high end restaurant that specializes in seafood. The taste will educate you. Or just go to a Sushi bar and ask how fresh the fish is. Cameron can't afford to get rid of stale fish, it's easier to fry it up and slap it into a container. Maryland is the CRAB state. Everyone knows when the are cooked dead. You can see it instantly. But don't take my word for it, educate yourself, see the difference for yourself. Learn what fresh fish means. You will never go back. If that doesn't convince you, look at public records for Cameron Seafood in Small Claims Court for Washington DC. That might convince you.

I purchased two broiled crabcake platters 9/20/10. They looked beautiful, however they were absolutely terrible. 21.00 for two breadcake platters because we could not find the crabmeat at all. Unfortunately that was not the first time. I'm sorry but for 21.00 the quality of food should be there.

I've gone there after work about 4 or 5 times and have never been disappointed. The platters were always fresh and good. I would recommend them. I love seafood and I eat out a lot.

I went there on one occasion, just to buy crab soup, but saw some spectacularly large crabs on the counter. They were the kind I have not seen in years. I ordered a half-dozen and they were a treat! The only suggestion I have is that sometimes, the young lady at the counter seems a little less than enthusiastic about taking orders and works slowly, but it's not enough to stop me from going.

I went to Cameron's Seafood in Temple Hills, Md. after work on Friday evening. 6/15/07. I purchased 3 dozen crabs that were supposed to be large and let me add they cost 40.00 a dozen. When I got home I found that they were not all large and not only that, out of the three dozen about 7 of my crabs were bad. Upon getting tired of finding this problem I was fed up and had to call that store. It was obvious that the crabs were cooked dead. After talking to the manager JOSE he let me know that I had to bring the food back and they would contact the person they bought the crabs from. I tried to figure out what that had to do with anything BECAUSE THE CRABS WERE COOKED DEAD..So instead of going to get my money back......I decided to leave this message for all to see.

Whenever I want a treat, I visit Cameron's. The crab gumbo is to die for. Their seafood platter is awesome and totally fresh. I've also had their low fat steamed seafood platter with veggies, and it is very good if you are watching your calories. Service is excellent as well!
