My wife and son recently dined at O'Leary's being drawn to its high rating. However, while the atmosphere was great the prices were twice as much as the quality of the food. A dinner with two cocktails, two glasses of wine, one appetizer, one bowl of soup and three entrees was $175 > $200 with tip. We are not adverse to paying to have a great meal in a resort community but, we were shocked and disappointed with the quality of the food (good) based on the price (way over priced). Next time we're in Annapolis we'll find out where the locals go for a better value.

Pros: Cozy atmosphere

Cons: Way over priced

Good food, good fun, nice pub and Irish Pub atmosphere while still having a good night life. Affordable, and not as crowded as some of the other spots like Acme and Griffins, it's a nice place for an evening dinner or drinks or both.

Another fine place to get seafood in Annapolis. Their portions are large and the prices fair. The atmosphere is nice. There is a wait to get seat sometimes but it is worth it.

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. Although the service is friendly, the food is overpriced and sub-par. My girlfriend and I went here after reading the numerous positive reviews posted on the internet. However they turned out to be dead wrong. There were a number of things wrong with our meal:

1) They overcooked my girlfriend's salmon so that it was dried out, which is the worst thing you can do to fish.
2) The beans that came with her entree both smelled and tasted like a substance I will not mention here by name, though the next-closest thing would be BLEACH.
3) I ordered a soft-shell crab entree, sauteed (as opposed to deep fried or pan fried). When my crabs came out deep fried I sent them back, asking they be sauteed. They merely came out pan-fried! There is a difference, and for the inflated prices they charge I expect the chef to know the difference and to be able to get what I want.

Again, avoid this restaurant. It's a trap. I don't blame the seafood for tasting bad; it probably started out good, but the kitchen ruined it. The best part of my meal was the scotch I ordered, and the chef certainly did not make that.

Pros: Nice location, decent ambiance.

Cons: Noisy and crowded (for a high-end place); poor food preparation relative to the prices; wait staff does not understand customer requests.

What a pleasant dining room this is with its mustard-yellow walls, windows crisply trimmed in white, black-and-white photographs of old Annapolis, and a view of the waterfront and the State House dome. Ambience alone puts O'Leary's in the…
