Please let me begin by saying that the service experience we had that is the basis for this review was several years ago. And, as we all know, what really matters is the quality of the person who services your home.
That said...
Some years ago, I called Priddy Clean to come and clean our chimney. Two young men arrived (I was told one was in training). After what I thought was the cleaning of the chimney complete, the more experienced person of the two approached me and informed me that there was some damage and that our chimney needed repairs. Then he proceeded to outline what needed to happen. He summed up by giving me a total -- somewhere around $300 0 $400, and quickly added that he would charge only a percentage of that if I opted to have them complete the work that day. I declined, saying that I needed to speak with my husband.
I had the sense to call a competitor who gave free estimates. The owner of the business arrived here from Rockville (about 40 minutes away). I asked only that he inspect my chimney, etc. He reported that not only was nothing wrong, but that he would have a fire in there himself and just about guarantee our safety.
I would never, ever use Proddy Clean again. Granted, our experience was with one team of guys, but integrity is something I live and value in others. If the two folks they deemed appropriate to hire tried to put one over on me, I have little to no regard for their company.
